মিছিলে না যাওয়ায় কুষ্টিয়ায় সংখ্যালঘুর বাড়িতে আওয়ামী লীগের হামলা

কুষ্টিয়া প্রতিনিধি : স্বাধীনতা দিবসের মিছিলে যোগ না দেয়ায় কুষ্টিয়ার কুমারখালীতে সংখ্যালঘুদের বাড়িতে হামলা, ভাংচুর ও লুটপাট করেছে আওয়ামী লীগ কর্মীরা। গতকাল মঙ্গলবার রাত সাড়ে ৯টার দিকে উপজেলার জগন্নাথপুর ইউনিয়নের দয়রামপুর ঘোষপাড়া এলাকায় এ ঘটনা ঘটে। ক্ষতিগ্রস্থ পরিবারের লোকজন ও পুলিশ জানায়, উপজেলা আওয়ামী লীগের সভাপতি আব্দুল মান্নান গ্র"পের সমর্থকরা দয়রামপুর ঘোষপাড়ার সংখ্যালঘুদের মঙ্গলবার স্বাধীনতা দিবসের মিছিলে যোগ দেয়ার আহ্বান জানান। কিন্তু তারা মিছিলে যেতে অস্বীকার করেন। পরে রাতে আব্দুল মান্নানের সমর্থক ইসার নেতৃত্বে কার্তিক ঘোষ, মদন ঘোষ ও রবি ঘোষের বাড়িতে হামলা চালায় আওয়ামী লীগ কর্মীরা। এ সময় তারা ওই বাড়িগুলোতে ব্যাপক ভাংচুর ও লুটপাট চালায়। বাড়ি লোকজন প্রাণ ভয়ে আশপাশের বাড়িতে আশ্রয় নেন। জানা গেছে, হামলার শিকার পরিবারগুলো ইউনিয়ন আওয়ামী লীগের সভাপতি আব্দুল্ হান্নানের সমর্থক। কুষ্টিয়ার জেলা প্রশাসক সৈয়দ বেলাল হোসেন, পুলিশ সুপার মফিজ উদ্দিন আহম্মেদসহ কর্মকর্তা ঘটনাস্থল পরিদর্শন করেছেন

If these trials are not finished with satisfactory outcome, meaning if verdicts are not up to the expectations of the people, especially the young people, it will be apparent that Awami League just wanted to use these trials for political gain. At that moment, people will lose faith in the Awami League. The result will be dire for Awami League, probably the end, because, Awami League will not be able to regain that trust back. Under that condition, it is highly likely that a third secular/progressive party will emerge out of the youth movement. That will not be so bad, isn’t it?

Now we hear, Awami League is sheltering some collaborators. Also Awami Leaguers are involved in many of those attacks on Hindu families in Bangladesh (Kustia, Chittagong, etc.). I am waiting for an alternative to Awami League…. please come forward …..
