Why people are so adamant that there is some kind of godly friendship exists between Bangladesh and India? It is an pure illusion that people love to imagine and expect Indians to be our all weather friend forever. This is a symptom of idiocy and Bangladeshis need to grow up beyond this kind of idiotic expectations. The friendship was over right after Bangobandhu's killing and Mr. Zia made it abundantly clear to the Indians. I do not think India considers Bangladesh as a friend. Just wait for BNP to come to the power and watch fireworks in all fronts. It is the national interests that drive the relationship. Bangladesh should treat India as a neighbor and foreign country. There is no free lunch for any country whether you are a foe or friend.

ক্ষমতায় যেকোনো মূল্যে টিকে থাকার জন্য ভারতের সমর্থন অত্যন্ত প্রয়োজনীয় বলে বিবেচিত হতে পারে আওয়ামী লীগ সরকারের কাছে। কিন্তু দেশের সম্পদ আর সম্ভাবনাকে বিঘ্নিত করে একতরফাভাবে ভারতের প্রভাব আর পুঁজির কাছে নতজানু হয়ে থাকলে দেশের জনগণের সমর্থন পাবে না সরকার। আর জনগণের সমর্থন ছাড়া ক্ষমতায় টিকে থাকার চিন্তা আওয়ামী লীগের মতো একটি গণতান্ত্রিক দলের ভেতরে যদি থাকে, তাহলে শেষ পর্যন্ত তা তাদের জন্যই আত্মঘাতী হবে।
