Re: [mukto-mona] I ALSO LIKE SUCHITRA SEN BUT!!!!

"was used to be"-  this idiot once found fault in my English!
"when we have only so little for us"- even that little was snatched from the persons of other religions.  Such patriots should be hanged using the ties that they display(noticeable is invisibility of his face in his displayed picture).

Like many of her fans, I also like Suchitra Sen but it seems in 1946 her family voluntarily left East Bengal for India. Similarly many Muslim families (politicians, artists, scientists, businessmen of India) also left Calcutta, and other parts of India to settle in East Bengal. In both cases they voluntarily left behind their properties. Suhrowarthy, Shere Bangla are only few people we know who had properties in Calcutta and in India. Strange but true, Indian or West Bengali government never asked Bangladesh government to return their properties in Calcutta or in other regions of India.

To our knowledge, the present Gandhi house in Calcutta was owned by a rich Muslim gentleman. The Dalai Lama residence in northern India was used to be a Mosque complex given to the Buddhist Dalai Lama.

To repossess Suchitra family's abandoned property to make room for a Museum, we want to know: Did Suchitra play any role in our liberation war? Did she protest against India's Farakka dam or all along she was an Indian by heart? Like Tagore, the Indian Bengali who opposed the establishment of Dhaka university, is it also possible that Sen and her family didn't like the entity East Bengal/ Bangladesh? Thus, in renaming the present Gazzali house named the by local people to an abandoned house, for a Suchitra Musium, would be similar to the making of a private Muslim home for a Gandhi museum in Calcutta. In both cases, we are actually showing disrespect to one to show respect to the other.  Under the circumstances, we suggest that people have the right to show respect to Suchitra as an artist but govt. shouldn't rename the place, for she unfortunately neglected East Bengal and opted for India. While leaving East Bengal, no doubt at the time her family seems to have abandoned/betrayed with East Bengal.

Under the circumstances, we want to know why the India-lover Awami puppets are in the business of only giving transit, renaming, or returning properties to Indian citizens when we have only so little for us?
