Attn: Mr. Jiten Roy,
I agree what you mentioned in your reply.
The most important factor in Bangladesh's democracy is that we could not establish truely independent Judiciery, Anti Corruption Bureau as well as independent powerful Election Commission. Without establishing this reality election under any government won't fulfill peoples expectation. Seperation of Judiciery and administration is still a dream for Bangladeshis. Our both Ladies refused to do that until now. In addition to that, autonomy for state run Radio and Television still not alloweed after 40 years of our liberation. Out TV becomes like Bap-Betir Baksho or Shaheb Bib Golamer Baksho. While in power both Awami League and BNP use Police/RAb as their party cadre and syuppress the opposition voices.
Both Hasina and Khaleda did not learn modern democracy even if they knew, they donot want to establish this in Bangladesh for their own interest. As a result peoples suffering continuing for more than 40 years. Even powerful 1/11 government failled to establish that. Still there is no hope as long as our two dominant lady politicans contrls the destiny of our nation. We donot see any George Washington nor Mahatir Mohammad to guide the nation toward a truely demoicratic prosperous Bangladesh
Morever, our intellectuals are also divided they support either Awami League or BNP. There are very few truely independend intellectuals in Bangladesh.
Lastly our peopoles represntatives specially MP's are the most privilged seactiuon of the nation. They grab everythinhg forgeting the interest of the voter's who voted them to the Pareliament.
Sincerely,
Mohiuddin Anwar

I knew that you will say – I am an Awami League supporter because I am criticizing BNP. I think of myself as politically independent. If BNP takes right steps, I will support them. The concept that some people could be apolitical or independent is absent in Bangladesh. May be - there is no politically independent people in Bangladesh, which is very unfortunate. Without a large politically independent segment of population, a democratic system cannot work. This may be the situation in Bangladesh because democracy is not working there. Opposition party (BNP or Awami League) never takes part in the democratic process, and this is quite apparent in the recent activities of BNP. Some objections you raised I also heard from Awami League when BNP was in power. I heard that BNP/Jamat was putting all their people in the key positions. So, I have no sympathy in this regard. As far as caretaker government, I do not like it. It leaves a bad impression on the political system about its trust-worthiness. That is why - this type of system is not present in other democratic countries. The election commission should be independent of political affiliation. BNP should make sure that it is independent.
