UNO is a vast organization with many departments and agencies. Protecting and promoting human rights are among it's agenda. It has departments like International Criminal Court and International Court of Justice. It is also involved in anti-terrorism activities. Jamat-e-Islam committed crimes against humanity and supported war crimes. Jamat-e-Islam clearly falls into the category of violator of human rights and terrorists. In view of the same it does not seem irrelevant to rally in front of UNO office. I am not sure if UNO can recommend to Bangladesh for banning JI, but it can definitely provide its support to the government in prosecuting it.
Activities of UNO are still expanding. So you never know what it can potentially do to protect and promote human rights although for now one may find sadistic pleasure in calling the protesters blind. I don't think the rally will have zero effect if not positive at all.
A drowning man will clutch at a straw. Wise people, please don't be rude on them. Time has come to restore 1972 constitution in its original form and ban JI.

As stated that, it is a "Misplaced" appeal. So the person who initiated is blind and the people who are following it are as well. Because of lack of trust with our judicial system, people are afraid that criminals would be freed by next political leaders of our country. So they are asking for death penalty. As member Bain pointed out that, UN is not so interested to support death penalty.
Hence my comment.
It seems we get emotional very quickly and (Sadly) we forget everything too quickly.
We should seek justice on behalf of our fallen heroes but that needs to be adhering our values of fairness, transparency as well. Otherwise the whole process will raise more question then solving issues for us.

The tough, and by some definitions inhumane, decisions have to be taken in Bangladesh by Bangladeshi leaders.
