Perhaps you are exploiting the advantage of visiting your 'home country', otherwise you can get the meaning of nigger, women's obscene in the name of freedom, free arms license in the name of self protection, assassination of Lincoln etc.etc. if we can visit that BULLSHIT country, you may get the answer in much better way. There must have hundreds of such social anomalies the western 'civilized' world can not answer. Of course it does not necessarily mean to defend so called VIP's.
The VIP's refereed to never ever a VIP here rather an opportunist, after their tenure flee to western world and very proud of be a cab driver or at best be a gasoline station operator. Only show off is "am staying in MERICA". But this attitude are not widely appreciated now-a-days.
Here general culture is ok and century old not a mess like in a country of immigrants. As we understand a KHICHURY culture persist there, eat, drink and sleep, hopefully not 'slip' under others blanket.

On my recent visit to my Sonar Bangla I noticed with amusement how much the VIP culture is alive and kicking. Dropping names, 'Tui Shaalaa Jaanosh Aami Kay' to curse the police constable ' Aami Oi Zelaar MP,Tui Haalaa Ataao Janos Naa', bribing him, using family connections, using ministerial connections—we try everything to show that we are better than that stinky RickshawWala. Folks, this culture is unique to my Sonar Bangla. It is a fallout of the Saheb-Sir Colonial Master Mindset. These Bangladeshi VIPS cannot pull this VIP BULLSHIT in America, Sweden, England or in Australia. They even call a taxi driver in Washington, sir! In America everyone is treated the same from CEO of a company to its Cleaner. Nobody dare throw their weight around! That's why we sing GodBlessAmerica. Two years ago, a driver in New Zealand prime minister Helen Clark's convoy was caught overspeeding, faced the legal process and was promptly served with regulatory notices. Hasina are you reading?
