Re: [mukto-mona] Re: Bloggers should be punished duly if they used derogatory words a

Bangladesh Hindu Buddha Christian Unity Council is demanding for enacting "Hate speech" law in Bangladesh for a long time.

>>>>>>>>>>>> I have been talking about it for a while. People should not get away with falsehood, hate-speech in future Bangladesh. However we should all engage in inter-faith discussions. I have made some attempt to share some basic knowledge about my religion to remove misunderstandings from my fellow countrymen.

We have to seek out our "Common grounds" in our faith traditions (We have many) and stand up for justice and equity. Without agressive
focus on "Peace making", we cannot remove "Trust-deficit" from each other. For years I have been saying this and we should take a long term approach to find respectful ways to discuss religion.

Otherwise "Demanding from Obama" may not bring desired result in the long term. We cannot effort to put our own people (Of all faiths) standing up AGAINST each other. Rather we have to stand shoulder to shoulder in building a peaceful Bangladesh.

It will be difficult but it can be done. Look at Singapore, Malaysia or even U.A.E. No one gave them a chance few decades ago, now they are the model people follow all over the world.

Shalom!

Bangladesh Hindu Buddha Christian Unity Council is demanding for enacting "Hate speech" law in Bangladesh for a long time. When someone calls "Malaun" to a Hindu, this is not only an insult to a person, but also a derogatory remark on their religion. If court punishes bloggers for the derogatory remarks on Islam, Hindus should be able to use this instance to file a lawsuit when someone calls them Malaun. Hindus will welcome enacting Hate-speech Law in Bangladesh. Let's wait and see what happens.

"declare "hate speech" as illegal."??  Instead, hate speech should be declared a monopoly for the Islamist, as it has been all along.  However, atheism is not the main issue here.  It is being used to shield the war criminals.

A blog is a private space

HOWEVER "Bolg" is NOT private. It can be access by millions (Or even billions) of people in the net.

As I mentioned earlier, we should have freedom to discuss our thoughts, ideas etc. We should not waste our freedom on making personal attacks or threats. As long we take responsibility of our works and words, we'll be fine.

A blog is a private space and not a public one like newspapers, radio ot TV etc.; Why should people go to blog which is not according to their mental levels? Therefore every person has the right to express any opinion in one's privae space. These arrests are the signs of Nazi-style Islamic persecution and must by condemed by all.
