Religious teachers are "Prohibited" to "Demand" for whatever knowledge they depart to people. As per religious belief, the reward will be given by our Maker.

Pirs or scholars of Islam depart knowledge as a "Public service". They don't run schools or collect certain amount of money for certain hours. Generally people donate money voluntarily to meet expenses.


Do understand pirs are PROHIBITED to make any claim to "Cure" someone from disease or they cannot guarantee "Good results" to any aspiring students. Some
"Bhondo pirs" do that and it is not approved by Islam. Unfortunately many ignorant Muslims still go to such "Bhondo pirs" to blessings, good business, good health etc. As per Islam, only ALLAH (SWT) has that kind of power.


You asked a good question. It suddenly reminded me of one of my favorite teachers. I was weak in math my during my school years and he helped me a great deal. Few of us used to study under him (private). One of my friends was rich. Sir was very angry one day and told him, your dad does not have enough money to pay me for the knowledge I give you here. I take some money to pay my bills for my family only.


This very "Islamic" statement was made by this devout Hindu teacher of mine. Now a days there are "Bhondo pirs" and "Bhondo Sadhu" who promise all sorts of things to people. True enlightened Islamic teachers would not dare to demand any money for any knowledge given to anyone. He/she would consider a "Privilege" to offer some knowledge.

I feel very blessed for the time I spend with my "Guru" and will remember him till the last days of my life.

Should religious teachers give free service? What kind of logic is behind this?

And they are right about it. However in sub-continent most people do not speak Arabic. So they generally go to pirs, teachers, alims, madrassa to learn about religion.

Islam says, one should not take money for teaching religion. Genuine religious teachers, pirs, alims do not ask for money or favors in return of Islamic knowledge. Some "Fake/bhondo" people do and they are "Aberration of Islamic tenets".

So I have to thank you for making an effort to search for truth.

You are saying this because you have your own theory (your measuring stick is always Islam of your own version) about pirs. I am sure some of the disciples will die for their pirs. If one of them complains, should the government pay heed to this or simply ignore it?

Nope, whoever done this went through a lot of trouble and shared it.

I do not think "ALL pirs are bad" but I have no reason think there are many who abuse Islam. As far as I am concern, I don't think it is violating any ethics.

If some of these video are fake, that may be punishable but not good once.
