[ALOCHONA] Presidential pardon for Shahadab is abuse of power, say citizens

Presidential pardon for Shahadab is abuse of power, say citizens

People of different professions and eminent citizens of the country termed the reported waiving of the sentence of 18 years' imprisonment of an absconder convicted in four corruption cases as naked abuse of power and contradiction of the government's commitment to curb corruption.

According to reliable reports President Zillur Rahman has waived the sentence of 18 years of imprisonment and financial penalties amounting to about Tk 1.6 crore against Shahadab Akbar, son of deputy leader of the Parliament Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury, who is also a presidium member of the Awami League and an intimate of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Shahadab was convicted and sentenced in four corruption cases under different Sections of the Anti-Corruption Commission Act in 2008 during the interim government's rule. He was sentenced when he was absconding and he is still a fugitive.

Citizens alleged that the President had 'abused' power and was guilty of 'political nepotism' as Sajeda is very close to him.Eminent citizens said it was a decision made purely on political considerations. They also said that the waiving of the sentence of a corrupt person has exposed the Awami League's hypocrisy in terms of its electoral pledge to curb corruption.

'We have heard of presidential clemency only in cases of capital punishment, but using presidential power to save a corrupt man from legal consequences is something unheard of,' M Mukhlesur Rahman, a psychologist of the Modern Psychiatric Hospital, told New Age on Friday. He said that corruption would not be reduced in the country if such things go on happening.

Mohsin Uddin, a businessman at Bashundhara Shopping Centre, said, 'It was nothing but abuse of the power of the Awami League. After ensuring that corruption cases against its own leaders are dropped, the government has now started waiving the sentences of convicts.'

'I do not have any information of a previous precedent of presidential pardon for a person convicted of corruption. If they (present and previous Presidents) did it, they abused their power and betrayed the people who are aspiring to free our society of corruption,' said Masudur Rahman, a teacher of a college in the city.

Akbar Ali Khan, former adviser to the caretaker government, and Professor Muzaffer Ahmad, member of the Board of Trustees of Transparency International Bangladesh, said that the President himself would not have taken such the decision of waiving Shahadab's sentence unless the Prime Minister had asked him to do so.

According to Article 48(3) of the Constitution the President in all his functions, save only that of appointing the Prime Minister and the Chief Justice, shall act in accordance with the advice of the Prime Minister.Article 49 of the Constitution says, 'The President shall have the power to grant pardons, reprieves and respites and to remit, suspend or commute any sentence passed by any court, tribunal or other authority.'

Both the eminent citizens of the country mentioned above observed that the process was undertaken very secretly and it would be wise to disclose the process to the people.'As everyone is equal before the law, what will the government do if other corrupt persons, who were convicted in similar cases, apply for waiver of sentences?' asked Muzaffer.

Many distinguished citizens said that a very bad precedent had been set, as it would increase corruption by people with powerful connections. The Awami League in its election manifesto said that elimination of corruption was one of its five priority issues. 'Multi-pronged measures to fight corruption will be put in place. Powerful people will have to submit wealth statements annually. Strict measures will be taken to eliminate bribery, extortion, rent seeking and corruption. Strong measures will be taken against those having unearned and black money, and against loan defaulters, tender manipulators and users of muscle power at every level of the state and society,' pledged the manifesto.

[mukto-mona] Re: [Shah Abdul Hannan] Historic Nov 7: It has Many Significance

Anything pertaining to Gen. Ziaur Rahman especially the truth about this Ray-Ban clad General will fall into deaf ear of Mr. Shah Hannan. Bangladesh has produced many charlatan "intellectuals." Shah Abdul Hannan is on the top of that coveted list, unquestionably. He would ignore all the negative traits this diabolic man Zia had and why? Because Zia wanted to create Sonar Banglastan patterning after Hannan's Prane'r Pakistan. The true mark of an intellectual is neutrality when analyzing historical facts. Mr. Hannan fails miserably in this litmus test. As time passes by, more and more historians and academics, who are involved in analyzing the dark past of 1975 massacres, are now clearly seeing that Ziaur Rahman's dirty hand in all those killings; besides, he was the sole beneficiary of all the killing that took place on August 15, 1975 and November jailhouse killing in Dhaka. Zia's tentacles went even farther. He single-handedly had rehabilitated most of the killers of Sheikh Mujib. AS per the statement made by the daughter of one of the junior military officer, Menhaz Rashid (sp.?), Zia even approached Zulfiquar Ali Bhutto to approach Muammar Khadafy to let a few of those killers settle down in Libya. One does not have to a rocket scientist to understand the fact that Ziaur Rahman was the mastermind behind Sheikh Mujib's and Jailhouse killings of AL's leaders.

Mr. Shah Hannan should be more objective when analyzing the character of this vile and petite dictator who single-handedly had turned the events of Bangladesh. As the time passes by more truth will emerge about Zia's dirty role in all the political killings of 1975. Through propaganda one could fool some people all the time and all the people some time but not all the people all the time. Gen. Zia of course had received his comeuppance. He was killed by his own folks, men of uniform. His criminality was known to his own people of the cantonment. Also, a tree is known by the fruit borne by it. Look at Ziaur Rahman's two sons! Need I say more?

> The nation has observed the historic November 7 with many discussion meetings on the significance of the day.The BNP secretary general, Khandaker Delwar Hossain, on Saturday said the situation in the country was more perilous now than in 1975 and asked ‘nationalist forces’ to unite and get prepared for protest movement against the ‘undemocratic’ activities of the government. ‘Today’s context is more perilous than it was in November 1975. A puppet government and a rubber stamp parliament have been installed through got-up polls. People have started feeling the pinch…,’ he said at a discussion organised by the BNP marking the National Revolution and Solidarity Day at the Institution of Engineers. The party chief, Khaleda Zia was in the audience.  The government has turned the country into a safe haven for hegemonic forces, he said. ‘Hegemonic and expansionist forces are conspiring against the country in the way they did in 1975,’ he

To put the government back on track and to safeguard democracy, all nationalist forces should unite under the leadership of Khaleda Zia,’ he said.

>    Delwar said if the events of November 7 had not taken place, the country’s independence and sovereignty could not have been protected. ‘After the August 15 killings, Mushtaq, a member of the then cabinet had become the president and many Awami League leaders had queued up to have a seat in his cabinet. On November 3, the then army chief Zia was interned by brigadier Khaled Mosharraf who declared himself as the new army chief. The Indian radio broadcast the news before we came to know about it,’ he said.  ‘In such a situation, many soldiers went to Zia’s house after midnight past November 6 and freed him from confinement,’ the BNP leader said refuting the claims that Zia had captured power. Party standing committee member Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain blasted the ‘attempt’ of the ruling party to ‘demean’ historic events. ‘They are trying to mislead the people over the revolution of the soldiers and people,’ he
> said.   The BNP marked the National Revolution and Solidarity Day with a call for restoring the state-level programmes of November 7, including the public holiday.

> There were many other programs by various political and civil society groups. Many columnists wrote many articles in this connection. We feel this day is important in several respects. It saved us from falling back on BAKSHAL.It also saved us from Indian domination. It also saved us from a hard socialist dictatorship .Col Taher and his Gana bahini , being hard socialists would have imposed a hard socialist regime and things like Cambodian killings would have happened.Ziaur Rahman courageously handled the situation after he was freed, put aside Taher and others, brought back discipline in the country. This was indeed a historic achievement. There is no point in demeaning Ziaur Rahman and his achievement. This also paved the way for re-assertion of Islamic identity of the nation

[ALOCHONA] Stop killings by BSF, Khaleda asks

Newstaday on 15/11/09

Stop killings by BSF, Khaleda asks Rao

BNP chairperson and Leader of the Opposition Khaleda Zia Saturday said her party is committed to maintaining friendly relations with India but stressed resolving the unsettled issues between Bangladesh and the neighboring country through the ongoing consultation, reports UNB.
The former Prime Minister expressed concern over the killing of innocent and unarmed Bangladeshi people, including the recent killing of a baby, in the border areas by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) troops.
She made the observations when the visiting Indian Foreign Secretary, Nirupama Rao, paid a courtesy call on the opposition leader at her Gulshan office.
After the meeting BNP chairperson''s Foreign Affairs Adviser Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury told reporters that Begum Zia told the Indian emissary that decision over various outstanding issues would have to be taken in a win-win way so that both the countries get benefited.
In this regard, Khaleda said, "India as a big country and will have to come up with a broad mind. As a result, the friendly relations will further be enhanced."
Regarding the killings by BSF, Khaleda told the top India official that she hopes that the Indian government will take appropriate steps to stop such killings.
The former Prime Minister recalled her bilateral meeting with Indian Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh in New Delhi in 2006 when she was Prime Minister. At the time, Begum Zia had apprised Dr Manmohan of Bangladesh''s concern over India''s plan to construct Tipaimukh dam on the common river Borak. And she had also hoped that India would not take any step that harms Bangladesh''s interests.
Begum Zia also mentioned her recent letter sent to the Indian premier over the Tipaimukh-dam issue and suggested carrying out technical assessment of the possible adverse impacts on Bangladesh.
Responding to Khaleda''s observations about the killings by BSF, the Indian Foreign Secretary was quoted as saying that "the Indian government always carries out investigation into the border incidents."
About Tipaimukh dam, Nirupama said Indian Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh "would not do anything which goes against Bangladesh''s interest".
On the wide trade gap between Bangladesh and India, the BNP chairperson told her that there is ample scope for import of goods by India from Bangladesh, which would help enhance the economy of Bangladesh as well as improve the bilateral ties.
Replying to a question Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury said, "The matter of transit was not discussed in the meeting."
The Leader of the Opposition, Khaleda Zia, conveyed greetings through the FS to the Indian Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, and ruling Congress party president Sonia Gandhi.
The meeting that lasted 45 minutes from 6:30 pm was held "in a friendly atmosphere", the reporters were told.
BNP secretary-general Khandaker Delwar Hossain and Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka Pinak Ranjan Chakravarty were also present at the meeting

[ALOCHONA] Jesin receives death threat

Jesin receives death threat

Kazi Jesin, the anchor of Banglavision's talk show Point of Order, on Wednesday filed a general diary with the Mohammadpur police seeking security after she had received death threats over telephone.

In her complaint lodged with the police, Kazi Jesin alleged she had received a number of anonymous calls threatening to harass her socially and of dire consequences if she would not stop her programme on the private television channel.

She earlier received similar death threats from the same quarters and filed a general diary with the same police station in June.

[ALOCHONA] Dubious deposits for 'destitute'

Netrakona businesses forced to contribute to unregistered welfare fund; AL lawmaker terms it voluntary donation

The lawmaker of Netrakona-1 constituency has reportedly been realising huge amounts of money from local contractors, coal importers, dealers in white clay, two sub-registry offices and market lessees in the name of an unregistered destitute welfare fund.

Locals and sources at the LGED and the Roads and Highways Department said all contractors have to pay lawmaker Mostaque Ahmed Ruhi one percent of the money they draw against any work.

Requesting anonymity, coal importers of Bijoypur LC station alleged that they have to contribute Tk 1,000 to the destitute welfare fund against each letter of credit.

Businessmen of Bijoypur white clay mine have to pay Tk 50 per tonne of white clay while Ruhi's men collect Tk 30 per deed from the sub-registry offices of Durgapur and Kalmakanda upazilas for the fund.

Local sources said the destitute welfare fund has a joint account at the Durgapur branch of Sonali Bank. Durgapur Baro Masjid Imam Hafez Hossain Ahmed and his assistant Anwar Hossain are the account holders although they do not have any authority over its operation.

Branch Manager Taiyab Ali told The Daily Star that former general secretary of Durgapur upazila Jubo League Mobarak Hossain deposits money in the account, but he refused to give details about the amount deposited so far.

Talking to The Daily Star, Hafez Hossain Ahmed and Anwar Hossain said, "We do not have any authority to operate the account but we have to sign cheques supplied by Jiban Thakur, cousin of Mostaque Ahmed Ruhi and a resident of Teri Bazar area under Durgapur municipality."

They said they have information that locals including businessmen and contractors also deposit money in the bank to run a social organisation named Destitute Welfare Fund. But they know nothing about the account transactions.

Hafez said some poor people were provided with financial assistance from the fund. However, neither Hafez nor his assistant could tell the names or addresses of those people.

Talking to The Daily Star, Jiban Thakur admitted that the welfare fund is not registered. He said 380 poor people were provided with financial assistance from the fund--many were given amounts ranging from Tk 200 to Tk 5,000 as per instructions of lawmaker Ruhi.

The lawmaker usually decides who will get help upon considering applications from the poor, he said.

When contacted, Ruhi however dismissed the allegations of collecting money for the fund by putting pressure on contractors and businessmen.

He claimed that they are taking help from those who are willingly contributing to the fund.

"I formed the destitute welfare fund to help the poverty-stricken people of Durgapur and Kalmakanda upazilas," he said.

Replying to a question, he said it is not an NGO and so it does not need to be registered or get approval from any authority.

Ruhi said a quarter with vested interests has been conspiring against him and spreading rumours to tarnish his image.

[ALOCHONA] Population Reduction: Globalist Endgame Begins?

Population Reduction: Globalist Endgame Begins?

'A total population of 250-300 million people, a 95% decline from present levels, would be ideal.' – Ted Turner to Audubon Magazine, 1996

On October 30th,"2009 editors of local papers in Kyiv, Ukraine received a flood of phone calls from citizens reporting low flying aircraft spraying an unknown aerosolized substance over L'viv, Ternopil and other cities. On October 27th"the Ukrainian media broke the story that on October 26th"in Ternopil an unknown flu had killed seven people , and that over the past few days about 6 thousand people had sought out medical attention in regards to flu like symptoms. From this first report through to the 9th"of November over 1 million people inside the Ukraine people have contracted some form of flu like illness. This is almost double the number of 'confirmed' H1N1 cases worldwide in all other countries. There have also been over 155 deaths reported due to influenza during this time. This outbreak is unprecedented yet it has received  minimal coverage in the western media. It just seemed to get lost amidst all of the swine flu coverage, and written off as just more cases of H1N1 before any lab samples had been processed.

In the Ukrainian and"Russian media however the outbreak has been treated more seriously and has been referred to as 'pneumonic plague'. On October 29th"a report came out of Ukraine describing the deaths of 6 young people in the Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast. After the autopsies were performed it was recorded that the cause of death in these individuals was "severe hemorrhagic pneumonia". Also unconfirmed reports from bloggers in the Western Ukraine that doctors were seeing that this was a new form a flu that killed much faster than the regular H1N1 virus. "Soon Ukrainians started to panic, and the stores emptied of masks and all forms of flu medication. Even onions, garlic, and lemons became scarce in so me cities. As a countermeasure to this outbreak 9 Oblasts (cities) were placed under quarantine by the government.

The WHO sent a team of experts to take samples of this new flu and send them back to the Mill Hill lab in London to determine the gene sequences of this flu, and to discover if this was in fact the same Californian/Mexican A/H1N1 virus. "On November 3rd"the WHO announced that the samples had been received at Mill Hill, yet almost a week later there have been no reports issued and no gene sequence data released. If these were typical samples it seems that an announcement would have been made already. "The silence is deafening. It should also be noted that rumors of the doctors being told not to disseminate any information about the new flu cases that would incite any panic, were later confirmed by statements made by the Ukrainian government that police have been told to confiscate hospital reports on patients who have recently contracted the flu." All things considered, it would not be a surprise if this unidentified virus turned out to be far more serious than the mild A/H1N1 circulating the globe.

Two unconfirmed reports, one in 2002 and one in 2009 by alleged government insiders revealed that at some point that live 1918 Spanish flu would be released on a large scale in the form of a vaccine, for the purpose of mass genocide. The August 2009 report by Joseph Moshe revealed that he was involved with Baxter in a plan to release the 1918 virus in the Ukraine. Not only was it confirmed that he was a microbiologist, his claim was also substantiated by the current Ukrainian outbreak. After a number of deaths in September the Ukrainian government"banned the use of the H1N1 vaccine. This would make it quite difficult to release the 1918 virus as described by Joseph Moshe." It now seems as though the vaccine ban will be lifted and h1n1 vaccines will be forced on the people of Ukraine.

"On November 9th"the"Globe and Mail"published a story that revealed, despite"previous claims"by the Ukrainian Government that they had not authorized the use of aerosolized medication on the public as a response to the outbreak, that they in fact "sprayed the city with the necessary products"." Was this in fact medication or disinfectant? If so why would the government deny this? "Was the spraying in fact a release of the mystery flu? Was the original intention to release it via the vaccine? Was the aerosol release the plan B after the Ukrainian government banned the use of the vaccine? A blog post from a Lviv resident claimed that his mother who works for the city council received a text message the night of Oct 29th from a colleague warning her to keep her windows closed as something was to be sprayed. The context wasn't crystal clear. It could have been a warning regarding a street disinfecting procedure as is often done during typhoid outbreaks. The government's denial is not irrefutable proof of a bio-attack, but it is suspicious.

As reported by SkyWatch Canada on September 15th , the frequency of low flying aircraft with unusual flight patterns have caught the attention of Canadians living in the Nation's Capital. Is there a chance that Canadians are being acclimated to these types of flight patterns for a future bio-release ? In 1994 such an  event took place in the town of Oakville, Washington where there were confirmed reports of a clear gel like substance raining form the sky and making residents horribly ill. Readers should also be reminded of the  report given on the Power Hour radio show in March 2009, about truckloads of "bird flu" being delivered throughout America to underground missile silos orchestrated by the department of homeland security. Several of those loads were delivered into the back of a military C-130 (an aircraft often equipped with an aerosol dispersal system).

Was this multi-million dollar operation conducted for the purpose of spreading the mild and basically insignificant H1N1 demi-flu ? Or has the final phase of the operation yet to occur? Has the event to justify the recent American National Emergency yet to occur? Will the CDC finally make use of their scores of mass graves and plastic caskets? Will the military be deployed to put the country under pandemic lockdown, as we have seen in the Ukraine? Far too much has been put into the H1N1 fiasco for it to amount to a mere outbreak of the common cold. It seems like many pieces of a plan have been put in place. Will the NWO put the people in check? Will the virus 'Mutate'? Is this the beginning of the Globalist Endgame of population reduction ?

There are reports now coming from Romania, India, Bulgaria, Belarus, Turkey, Norway that the rate on increase of flu is increasing rapidly. In Norway for example 300,000 residents contacted the flu in a single week. Whatever disease has been released is moving across Europe fast. This bug has spread too widely to be a Ukrainian election scam. Readers should note that just before the outbreak in Ukraine, the government was running pneumonic plague drills. In early November, there were also pneumonic plague drills being run in Illinois. Connect the dots. Notable there have also been reports of  heavy supply and personnel movement in and out of known D.U.M.B.s (Deep Underground Military Bases) very recently. According to an unconfirmed report the  parking lots of these bases are full and haven't been this full since just after 911. What is going on? Will this fast moving disease be released in America? Listen for low flying aircraft. Shut your windows at night. Stock up on colloidal silver, antibiotics and high quality vitamins. Please watch the skies!

RE: [mukto-mona] FW: Islamic Scholars Meet Education Minister On Education Policy : Revision Nedded In Some Impotant Aspects

This bogy of Islamic education is another Islamist agenda to sanctify the hidden extremists in the name of religion. Islamic indoctrination creates two kinds of zealots. One of them is fearful and the other ones are fear mongers. The sole aim of this so called education is to create a class of people who will only validate ignorance and dogmas. During the Pakistani period we have seen these scare hatchers whose aim was not to enlighten the people through this so called religious education but to keep them immersed in the opium of religion to suck them without any resistance. They were largely successful in this conspiracy but the Bengalis were a hard nut to crack. People like S.A.Hannan must now scratch their heads why this conspiracy did not work well in their beloved Pakistan too.  Why their lovely sweet heart mullah Omar could not still penetrate into the indoctrinated Pakistani minds. The basic truth is that the lethal brew of religion and politics can create a spell but it can't be sustained for a long time. The aim of this conspiracy is to regenerate life in the carcass of religion through Islamic education to revamp the long standing nightmare of an Islamic Emirate of Bangladesh. These conspirators must be unmasked and confronted.

Islamic Scholars Meet Education Minister On Education Policy : Revision Nedded In Some Impotant Aspects

Press has reported that Islamic scholars met the education minister on Sunday and placed their view point on proposed  educational policy.Terming secularism irreligious, Islami Shikkha Rakkha Jaitya Committee National Committee for Protection of Islamic education), a forum of Islamic organisations, yesterday said most pious Muslims in the country are concerned about some issues in the draft education policy."There is nothing called secularism in the world. It's a vague term that refers to irreligious beliefs," said committee convener Maulana Muhiuddin Khan at a views-exchange meeting with the education minister on the draft education policy. The committee demanded replacing the words "secular and gonomukhi (people-oriented)" with 'religious values and employment-oriented (karmamukhi)' in the policy.
A 25-member delegation of the committee submitted to the minister a set of recommendations that include replacing the word "sense of secularism" with "piety and sense of morality" in the policy. The committee leaders also suggested replacing "introduction to four main religions in Bangladesh" with "introduction to own religion" in chapter-7 of the policy. They also proposed keeping primary education up to class five, inclusion of basic education on religions of all faiths from class one and providing salaries, allowances and other facilities to teachers at independent Ibtedai madrasa and establishing Islami Arabic University. The committee leaders also proposed excluding Lalitkala from the policy, claiming it goes against the religious values of the majority of people. They suggested replacing Lalitkala with "religion and moral education" in class one and two and, "health science" from class three to eight as additional subjects. The recent speeches of the chief of education policy formulation committee has hurt the sentiment of the people, said Muhiuddin Khan, also vice chairman of Islami Oikya Jote. "The people of this country are extremely annoyed at the remarks," he said. The committee convener however said they believe that a certain quarter is trying to portray the government's effort in a bad light.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid said the government would not keep anything in the education policy that go against Islam, madrasa education or religious values. He said madrasa education, which has a long glorious past, would be modernised. The minister said they will consider all opinions with due importance before finalising the policy by December.Committee Member Secretary Maulana Muhammad Azizul Haque Murad also spoke.
We welcome the meeting as it will help both sides in understanding the issues better. There is serious concern in most of the people on making religious education optional in secondary stage ( from class nine to twelvth ), reducing Islamic courses in class nine to twelvth drastically and inclusion of fine arts in class one and two and not including simple religious education these two classes. It is good that the delegation has emphasised religious education for all religious communities in their recommendation. We hope the issue will be solved amicably.

RE: [mukto-mona] Vande Mataram protests & India's defence & economic needs

From its inception during the Independence Movement, Bande Mataram controversy was artificially canned by shrewd manipulators of communal politics posing as village idiots pitifully needing protection of their "religious sentiments." The recent re-visiting of the controversy was unnecessary and a publicity stunt by the Deoband Maulanas.

Some quick facts:

                           The text is completely secular

It was composed before the writing of the novel, Anandamath

The novel is mis-characterized as anti-Muslim, and a recent English translation confirms that there is no full-blown communalism in the text

It was written for Mother Bengal and adressed to her 'saat koti' children, half of whom were Muslims. In a sly bit of editing, 'saat koti' was changed to 'koti koti' thereby not only decoupling it from Bengal, but also distorting the song's homage from Mother Bengal to a divine Durga. Bankim was long dead, and had nothing to do with this doctoring of his song's text.

Like the popular American sports news-broadcaster bellows on camera: "Let's go to the videotape!" I would like to roll the 'tape' of the time of production of the text of Bande Mataram.

At the timing of the composition of the song, it would be more than a couple of decades since the British had dropped all mercantile pretensions and gobbled up India as a part of its Empire. The not-too-distant memory of the bitter battles fought and lost in 1857 is still smarting in many a heart. Bengal, whose plentiful wealth had been systematically robbed to enrich the British Treasury for more than a hundred years now, is the seat of governance of this foreign imperial power over whole India.  Calcutta, a flourishing metropolis, was turning out an educated middle class whose intellectual and cultural accomplishments far surpassed the expectations of Mill-Macaulay & Co. who wanted nothing more than mediocre servicemen of the Empire by their Indian education policies.  Bankim was the first graduate of the newly established Calcutta University after trudging through an incredibly cumbersome and tough syllabus.

Exposure to English language and literature acted as an enabler in the rapid development of Bengali as a modern language.  There was a new awakening of love and pride for motherland and mother language, and nostalgia for the freedom that used to belong to the people. Bengal had traded with foreigners for centuries, and even endured Company rule since the fall of Sirajuddowla in 1757.  Heavy taxation and privatization of community land caused unprecedented famine that devastated the population. Even so, the effect of outright colonization took some time to sink in.  Bankim lamented in one of his essays: "Nowadays we hear a lot about Administrator and rules and regulations. In this land in the olden times you could call a bunyan tree an 'administrator' (shasonkarta)". By which Bankim is stating unambiguously that we Bangalis were a free, self-ruled nation before the British came and took away our freedom.

Bankim's Bande Mataram was the most powerful, but many of his contemporary poets and composers, both Hindus and Muslims, wrote paeans for Mother Bangla (the word 'bangla' denoting both the land and the language).  Two generations after Bankim, my grandfather, the poet Golam Mostapha composed his song showing clear influence of both Bankim and Iqbal: "Shakol desher chaite shera moder Bangladesh, sujala sufala shasya-shyamola snigdho shitalabesh." Kazi Nazrul Islam, one of the greatest Bengali poets, my nana's friend, wrote: "Namo namo namo Bangladesh momo, chiromonoramo, chiro madhur." Unfortunately the village idiots of Bangladesh today do not sing Nazrul's song because it has 'namo namo namo' as invocation that is considered a bit too Hindu-like. Invocations are common parlance, and any speaker of that language should be free to use them regardless of the religious identity of that person.  Imagine Hindi/Urdu-speaking Hindus not singing A. R. Rahman's "Ma, tujhe salaam" because 'salaam' sounds Muslim-like!

Worshipping Motherland as Divinity is highest form of patrioism and all nationalists do so who keep Nation over Religion as Vande Mataram asks us. While attacking the Muslims in the Novel Anandamath (having Vande Mataram song) is justified as not common Indian Muslims but the ruling invaders - Colonial Muslims were fought by Hindu Nationalists in the novel which is freedom struggle but due to lack of educational and military development at the end they accepted British Rule which removed the more repressive and perverted Islamic Jihadi rule for the time being and the 'Leader' also asked members not to hurt common Muslims when one of them was going to strike an Indian converted Muslim who fearing his life have hidden in pond.

Anti-Muslim Geet Wilder's Movie is banned in India

So is Da Vinci Code which is allegdly anti-Christian without even a protest showing the extra concern vote bank loving Indian Politicians have for minorities but Hindus must protest 'London Dreams' as otherwise they would not listen!

HANS KE LIYA PAKISTAN LORKE LEGE HINDUSTHAN:

Real Defence & Economic problems of India: -

1) Ordnance production and paramilitary should be strictly under defence ministry only and not in private hands or under home ministry. We dont need gun culture like USA or manipulation by Arms production companies to wage continous wars.
2) Chief of Defence Staff or CDS should be made and Secretary to CDS will also act as Defence Secretary and no non-defence IAS personal should be given this strategic post.
3) Mayanmar and Mauritus should be included in expanding SAARC and India should also try to join ASEAN.
4) While even North Korea & Iran has long range 2,500 km missiles as our enemies China & Pakistan we have longest - 350 Km short range ones only, like Islamic Bangladesh & must soon acquire them by development or buying off.
5) Sectarian divisions based on Religion and Castes/Regions in Indian Armed Forces like Sikh Regiment, Gurkha Regiment, Rajputana Rifles, Assam Rifles, Jat Regiment, etc must be dissolved and named after Indian Freedom fighters like Shivaji, Govind Singh, Rana Pratap, etc or simply n alpha-neumeric forms like West!

Govt scientists are now paid more than many technos at MNCs after 6th Pay Commission beside fundamental research and earning patents can be rewarding greatly and make you rich beyond imagination!

Please forward to your forum members...

Look at this garlanded thug from Jharkhand, one of the poorest states of India.
Irony is that despite a huge sum of 1.3 billion dollars having been swindled by him he still is a small fry (a chhutputya) amongst the king sized Dons of Mangal Singh type like Sharad Pawar, CK Jaffer Sayeed, Patang Rao Kadam, Suresh Kalmadi, Mufti Sayeed, Sushil Kumar Shinde, Mayavati, Lalu Prashad, DS Patil, Mulayam Yadav, Filmi Amma from Madras, Bhajan lal, Om Prakash Chautala, Virbadar Singh and hundreds more.
