Anything pertaining to Gen. Ziaur Rahman especially the truth about this Ray-Ban clad General will fall into deaf ear of Mr. Shah Hannan. Bangladesh has produced many charlatan "intellectuals." Shah Abdul Hannan is on the top of that coveted list, unquestionably. He would ignore all the negative traits this diabolic man Zia had and why? Because Zia wanted to create Sonar Banglastan patterning after Hannan's Prane'r Pakistan. The true mark of an intellectual is neutrality when analyzing historical facts. Mr. Hannan fails miserably in this litmus test. As time passes by, more and more historians and academics, who are involved in analyzing the dark past of 1975 massacres, are now clearly seeing that Ziaur Rahman's dirty hand in all those killings; besides, he was the sole beneficiary of all the killing that took place on August 15, 1975 and November jailhouse killing in Dhaka. Zia's tentacles went even farther. He single-handedly had rehabilitated most of the killers of Sheikh Mujib. AS per the statement made by the daughter of one of the junior military officer, Menhaz Rashid (sp.?), Zia even approached Zulfiquar Ali Bhutto to approach Muammar Khadafy to let a few of those killers settle down in Libya. One does not have to a rocket scientist to understand the fact that Ziaur Rahman was the mastermind behind Sheikh Mujib's and Jailhouse killings of AL's leaders.
Mr. Shah Hannan should be more objective when analyzing the character of this vile and petite dictator who single-handedly had turned the events of Bangladesh. As the time passes by more truth will emerge about Zia's dirty role in all the political killings of 1975. Through propaganda one could fool some people all the time and all the people some time but not all the people all the time. Gen. Zia of course had received his comeuppance. He was killed by his own folks, men of uniform. His criminality was known to his own people of the cantonment. Also, a tree is known by the fruit borne by it. Look at Ziaur Rahman's two sons! Need I say more?

> The nation has observed the historic November 7 with many discussion meetings on the significance of the day.The BNP secretary general, Khandaker Delwar Hossain, on Saturday said the situation in the country was more perilous now than in 1975 and asked â˜nationalist forcesâ™ to unite and get prepared for protest movement against the â˜undemocraticâ™ activities of the government. â˜Todayâ™s context is more perilous than it was in November 1975. A puppet government and a rubber stamp parliament have been installed through got-up polls. People have started feeling the pinchâ¦,â™ he said at a discussion organised by the BNP marking the National Revolution and Solidarity Day at the Institution of Engineers. The party chief, Khaleda Zia was in the audience.  The government has turned the country into a safe haven for hegemonic forces, he said. â˜Hegemonic and expansionist forces are conspiring against the country in the way they did in 1975,â™ he
> said and urged his party activists to guard against the plots. â˜The government is continuing with the move of the military-controlled government to divide BNP into pieces by filing fresh cases and attempting to extract confessions by force from the party leaders in custody. To put the government back on track and to safeguard democracy, all nationalist forces should unite under the leadership of Khaleda Zia,â™ he said.
>    Delwar accused the government of being engaged in a smear campaign against BNP in a bid to weaken it. â˜Conspiracies are continuing against the party founded by Ziaur Rahman.
>    Delwar said if the events of November 7 had not taken place, the countryâ™s independence and sovereignty could not have been protected. â˜After the August 15 killings, Mushtaq, a member of the then cabinet had become the president and many Awami League leaders had queued up to have a seat in his cabinet. On November 3, the then army chief Zia was interned by brigadier Khaled Mosharraf who declared himself as the new army chief. The Indian radio broadcast the news before we came to know about it,â™ he said.  â˜In such a situation, many soldiers went to Ziaâ™s house after midnight past November 6 and freed him from confinement,â™ the BNP leader said refuting the claims that Zia had captured power. Party standing committee member Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain blasted the â˜attemptâ™ of the ruling party to â˜demeanâ™ historic events. â˜They are trying to mislead the people over the revolution of the soldiers and people,â™ he
> said.   The BNP marked the National Revolution and Solidarity Day with a call for restoring the state-level programmes of November 7, including the public holiday.

> There were many other programs by various political and civil society groups. Many columnists wrote many articles in this connection. We feel this day is important in several respects. It saved us from falling back on BAKSHAL.It also saved us from Indian domination. It also saved us from a hard socialist dictatorship .Col Taher and his Gana bahini , being hard socialists would have imposed a hard socialist regime and things like Cambodian killings would have happened.Ziaur Rahman courageously handled the situation after he was freed, put aside Taher and others, brought back discipline in the country. This was indeed a historic achievement. There is no point in demeaning Ziaur Rahman and his achievement. This also paved the way for re-assertion of Islamic identity of the nation

BNP chairperson and Leader of the Opposition Khaleda Zia Saturday said her party is committed to maintaining friendly relations with India but stressed resolving the unsettled issues between Bangladesh and the neighboring country through the ongoing consultation, reports UNB.
The former Prime Minister expressed concern over the killing of innocent and unarmed Bangladeshi people, including the recent killing of a baby, in the border areas by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) troops.
She made the observations when the visiting Indian Foreign Secretary, Nirupama Rao, paid a courtesy call on the opposition leader at her Gulshan office.
After the meeting BNP chairperson''s Foreign Affairs Adviser Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury told reporters that Begum Zia told the Indian emissary that decision over various outstanding issues would have to be taken in a win-win way so that both the countries get benefited.
In this regard, Khaleda said, "India as a big country and will have to come up with a broad mind. As a result, the friendly relations will further be enhanced."
Regarding the killings by BSF, Khaleda told the top India official that she hopes that the Indian government will take appropriate steps to stop such killings.
The former Prime Minister recalled her bilateral meeting with Indian Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh in New Delhi in 2006 when she was Prime Minister. At the time, Begum Zia had apprised Dr Manmohan of Bangladesh''s concern over India''s plan to construct Tipaimukh dam on the common river Borak. And she had also hoped that India would not take any step that harms Bangladesh''s interests.
Begum Zia also mentioned her recent letter sent to the Indian premier over the Tipaimukh-dam issue and suggested carrying out technical assessment of the possible adverse impacts on Bangladesh.
Responding to Khaleda''s observations about the killings by BSF, the Indian Foreign Secretary was quoted as saying that "the Indian government always carries out investigation into the border incidents."
About Tipaimukh dam, Nirupama said Indian Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh "would not do anything which goes against Bangladesh''s interest".
On the wide trade gap between Bangladesh and India, the BNP chairperson told her that there is ample scope for import of goods by India from Bangladesh, which would help enhance the economy of Bangladesh as well as improve the bilateral ties.
Replying to a question Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury said, "The matter of transit was not discussed in the meeting."
The Leader of the Opposition, Khaleda Zia, conveyed greetings through the FS to the Indian Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, and ruling Congress party president Sonia Gandhi.
The meeting that lasted 45 minutes from 6:30 pm was held "in a friendly atmosphere", the reporters were told.
BNP secretary-general Khandaker Delwar Hossain and Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka Pinak Ranjan Chakravarty were also present at the meeting
Jesin receives death threat
Kazi Jesin, the anchor of Banglavision's talk show Point of Order, on Wednesday filed a general diary with the Mohammadpur police seeking security after she had received death threats over telephone. In her complaint lodged with the police, Kazi Jesin alleged she had received a number of anonymous calls threatening to harass her socially and of dire consequences if she would not stop her programme on the private television channel. She earlier received similar death threats from the same quarters and filed a general diary with the same police station in June.

India a master and Tibet is its disciple: Dalai Lama On the last day of his week-long stay in Arunachal Pradesh, Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama [ Images ] underlined the need for spiritual development for peaceful co-existence of different groups of people for establishing a developed and prosperous state. Population Reduction: Globalist Endgame Begins?'A total population of 250-300 million people, a 95% decline from present levels, would be ideal.' – Ted Turner to Audubon Magazine, 1996 On October 30th,"2009 editors of local papers in Kyiv, Ukraine received a flood of phone calls from citizens reporting low flying aircraft spraying an unknown aerosolized substance over L'viv, Ternopil and other cities. On October 27th"the Ukrainian media broke the story that on October 26th"in Ternopil an unknown flu had killed seven people , and that over the past few days about 6 thousand people had sought out medical attention in regards to flu like symptoms. From this first report through to the 9th"of November over 1 million people inside the Ukraine people have contracted some form of flu like illness. This is almost double the number of 'confirmed' H1N1 cases worldwide in all other countries. There have also been over 155 deaths reported due to influenza during this time. This outbreak is unprecedented yet it has received minimal coverage in the western media. It just seemed to get lost amidst all of the swine flu coverage, and written off as just more cases of H1N1 before any lab samples had been processed.
In the Ukrainian and"Russian media however the outbreak has been treated more seriously and has been referred to as 'pneumonic plague'. On October 29th"a report came out of Ukraine describing the deaths of 6 young people in the Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast. After the autopsies were performed it was recorded that the cause of death in these individuals was "severe hemorrhagic pneumonia". Also unconfirmed reports from bloggers in the Western Ukraine that doctors were seeing that this was a new form a flu that killed much faster than the regular H1N1 virus. "Soon Ukrainians started to panic, and the stores emptied of masks and all forms of flu medication. Even onions, garlic, and lemons became scarce in so me cities. As a countermeasure to this outbreak 9 Oblasts (cities) were placed under quarantine by the government.
The WHO sent a team of experts to take samples of this new flu and send them back to the Mill Hill lab in London to determine the gene sequences of this flu, and to discover if this was in fact the same Californian/Mexican A/H1N1 virus. "On November 3rd"the WHO announced that the samples had been received at Mill Hill, yet almost a week later there have been no reports issued and no gene sequence data released. If these were typical samples it seems that an announcement would have been made already. "The silence is deafening. It should also be noted that rumors of the doctors being told not to disseminate any information about the new flu cases that would incite any panic, were later confirmed by statements made by the Ukrainian government that police have been told to confiscate hospital reports on patients who have recently contracted the flu." All things considered, it would not be a surprise if this unidentified virus turned out to be far more serious than the mild A/H1N1 circulating the globe.
Two unconfirmed reports, one in 2002 and one in 2009 by alleged government insiders revealed that at some point that live 1918 Spanish flu would be released on a large scale in the form of a vaccine, for the purpose of mass genocide. The August 2009 report by Joseph Moshe revealed that he was involved with Baxter in a plan to release the 1918 virus in the Ukraine. Not only was it confirmed that he was a microbiologist, his claim was also substantiated by the current Ukrainian outbreak. After a number of deaths in September the Ukrainian government"banned the use of the H1N1 vaccine. This would make it quite difficult to release the 1918 virus as described by Joseph Moshe." It now seems as though the vaccine ban will be lifted and h1n1 vaccines will be forced on the people of Ukraine.
"On November 9th"the"Globe and Mail"published a story that revealed, despite"previous claims"by the Ukrainian Government that they had not authorized the use of aerosolized medication on the public as a response to the outbreak, that they in fact "sprayed the city with the necessary products"." Was this in fact medication or disinfectant? If so why would the government deny this? "Was the spraying in fact a release of the mystery flu? Was the original intention to release it via the vaccine? Was the aerosol release the plan B after the Ukrainian government banned the use of the vaccine? A blog post from a Lviv resident claimed that his mother who works for the city council received a text message the night of Oct 29th from a colleague warning her to keep her windows closed as something was to be sprayed. The context wasn't crystal clear. It could have been a warning regarding a street disinfecting procedure as is often done during typhoid outbreaks. The government's denial is not irrefutable proof of a bio-attack, but it is suspicious.
As reported by SkyWatch Canada on September 15th , the frequency of low flying aircraft with unusual flight patterns have caught the attention of Canadians living in the Nation's Capital. Is there a chance that Canadians are being acclimated to these types of flight patterns for a future bio-release ? In 1994 such an event took place in the town of Oakville, Washington where there were confirmed reports of a clear gel like substance raining form the sky and making residents horribly ill. Readers should also be reminded of the report given on the Power Hour radio show in March 2009, about truckloads of "bird flu" being delivered throughout America to underground missile silos orchestrated by the department of homeland security. Several of those loads were delivered into the back of a military C-130 (an aircraft often equipped with an aerosol dispersal system).
Was this multi-million dollar operation conducted for the purpose of spreading the mild and basically insignificant H1N1 demi-flu ? Or has the final phase of the operation yet to occur? Has the event to justify the recent American National Emergency yet to occur? Will the CDC finally make use of their scores of mass graves and plastic caskets? Will the military be deployed to put the country under pandemic lockdown, as we have seen in the Ukraine? Far too much has been put into the H1N1 fiasco for it to amount to a mere outbreak of the common cold. It seems like many pieces of a plan have been put in place. Will the NWO put the people in check? Will the virus 'Mutate'? Is this the beginning of the Globalist Endgame of population reduction ?
There are reports now coming from Romania, India, Bulgaria, Belarus, Turkey, Norway that the rate on increase of flu is increasing rapidly. In Norway for example 300,000 residents contacted the flu in a single week. Whatever disease has been released is moving across Europe fast. This bug has spread too widely to be a Ukrainian election scam. Readers should note that just before the outbreak in Ukraine, the government was running pneumonic plague drills. In early November, there were also pneumonic plague drills being run in Illinois. Connect the dots. Notable there have also been reports of heavy supply and personnel movement in and out of known D.U.M.B.s (Deep Underground Military Bases) very recently. According to an unconfirmed report the parking lots of these bases are full and haven't been this full since just after 911. What is going on? Will this fast moving disease be released in America? Listen for low flying aircraft. Shut your windows at night. Stock up on colloidal silver, antibiotics and high quality vitamins. Please watch the skies!

This bogy of Islamic education is another Islamist agenda to sanctify the hidden extremists in the name of religion. Islamic indoctrination creates two kinds of zealots. One of them is fearful and the other ones are fear mongers. The sole aim of this so called education is to create a class of people who will only validate ignorance and dogmas. During the Pakistani period we have seen these scare hatchers whose aim was not to enlighten the people through this so called religious education but to keep them immersed in the opium of religion to suck them without any resistance. They were largely successful in this conspiracy but the Bengalis were a hard nut to crack. People like S.A.Hannan must now scratch their heads why this conspiracy did not work well in their beloved

From its inception during the Independence Movement, Bande Mataram controversy was artificially canned by shrewd manipulators of communal politics posing as village idiots pitifully needing protection of their "religious sentiments." The recent re-visiting of the controversy was unnecessary and a publicity stunt by the Deoband Maulanas.
Some quick facts:
The text is completely secular
It was composed before the writing of the novel, Anandamath
The novel is mis-characterized as anti-Muslim, and a recent English translation confirms that there is no full-blown communalism in the text
It was written for Mother Bengal and adressed to her 'saat koti' children, half of whom were Muslims. In a sly bit of editing, 'saat koti' was changed to 'koti koti' thereby not only decoupling it from Bengal, but also distorting the song's homage from Mother Bengal to a divine Durga. Bankim was long dead, and had nothing to do with this doctoring of his song's text.
Like the popular American sports news-broadcaster bellows on camera: "Let's go to the videotape!" I would like to roll the 'tape' of the time of production of the text of Bande Mataram.
At the timing of the composition of the song, it would be more than a couple of decades since the British had dropped all mercantile pretensions and gobbled up India as a part of its Empire. The not-too-distant memory of the bitter battles fought and lost in 1857 is still smarting in many a heart. Bengal, whose plentiful wealth had been systematically robbed to enrich the British Treasury for more than a hundred years now, is the seat of governance of this foreign imperial power over whole India. Calcutta, a flourishing metropolis, was turning out an educated middle class whose intellectual and cultural accomplishments far surpassed the expectations of Mill-Macaulay & Co. who wanted nothing more than mediocre servicemen of the Empire by their Indian education policies. Bankim was the first graduate of the newly established Calcutta University after trudging through an incredibly cumbersome and tough syllabus.
Exposure to English language and literature acted as an enabler in the rapid development of Bengali as a modern language. There was a new awakening of love and pride for motherland and mother language, and nostalgia for the freedom that used to belong to the people. Bengal had traded with foreigners for centuries, and even endured Company rule since the fall of Sirajuddowla in 1757. Heavy taxation and privatization of community land caused unprecedented famine that devastated the population. Even so, the effect of outright colonization took some time to sink in. Bankim lamented in one of his essays: "Nowadays we hear a lot about Administrator and rules and regulations. In this land in the olden times you could call a bunyan tree an 'administrator' (shasonkarta)". By which Bankim is stating unambiguously that we Bangalis were a free, self-ruled nation before the British came and took away our freedom.
Bankim's Bande Mataram was the most powerful, but many of his contemporary poets and composers, both Hindus and Muslims, wrote paeans for Mother Bangla (the word 'bangla' denoting both the land and the language). Two generations after Bankim, my grandfather, the poet Golam Mostapha composed his song showing clear influence of both Bankim and Iqbal: "Shakol desher chaite shera moder Bangladesh, sujala sufala shasya-shyamola snigdho shitalabesh." Kazi Nazrul Islam, one of the greatest Bengali poets, my nana's friend, wrote: "Namo namo namo Bangladesh momo, chiromonoramo, chiro madhur." Unfortunately the village idiots of Bangladesh today do not sing Nazrul's song because it has 'namo namo namo' as invocation that is considered a bit too Hindu-like. Invocations are common parlance, and any speaker of that language should be free to use them regardless of the religious identity of that person. Imagine Hindi/Urdu-speaking Hindus not singing A. R. Rahman's "Ma, tujhe salaam" because 'salaam' sounds Muslim-like!
