By William Gomes

According to different news reports mob had torched and vandalized the Buddhist village in one of the worst religious attacks in Bangladesh which appeared to have been triggered by a Facebook posting allegedly defaming the Quran.

According to bdnews24, on 30th September 2012, seven Buddhist Viharas, around 30 houses and shops were torched in the attacks that started at 11:30pm and lasted until around 4am on 1st of October. More than a hundred houses and shops were also reportedly attacked, vandalized and looted

My sources inside Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI) shared sensational inside story and background of the per-planned attack on the Buddhists in Cox's Bazaar's Ramu Upazila

The whole attack was engineered by special unit of Indian Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW) in coordination with DGFI

A special team of monitoring the social media in the DGFI and R&AW were closely monitoring the social media  to monitor the  ongoing protest on anti Islam film in different parts of Bangladesh on social media

The government was facing challenge to tackle the protest on anti Islam movie in different parts of the country

The social media monitor team within the intelligence agency noticed that different people were tagged different photos related anti Islam movie and defaming Holy Quran , Uttam Barua was tagged in the photo from a Facebook ID called 'Insult Allah'

The special units of R&AW consult with concern people in prime minister's office ask to run special operation named "Operation Tango"

The main aim of operation tango was to spread the violence in hill district, specifically on the Buddhist and Hindu minorities

Selected officials were called immediately from different detachments of DGFI that includes Coxs' Bazar, Khagrachari, Rangamati, Bandarban and Chittagong

They were briefed, how to implement the operation tango. They special team of army commando were send to vandalized a village of Buddhists in Cox's Bazaar's Ramu Upazila early on 30th September 2012

Cox's Bazaar district's Superintendent of Police Selim Mohammed Jahangir was informed earlier by the tango team to remain silent while tango team run the operation and police were on high alert that tango team can successfully end the operation

Special units of R&AW informed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina earlier that operation tango will help to get the sympathy of minorities

They also briefed that minorities are your vote bank , before election this attack will benefit you in all ways

They also briefed BNP had embraced the government over Rohingya Muslims issue and it's a proper time to use the situation while the opposition is protesting over anti islam movie

The tango team had suggested spreading attacks on minorities in different minority populated areas all over the country and that will continue one after another

A team of media professionals were briefed earlier to run continuous news propaganda naming the violence as an effort to Islamize the hill area and the opposition parties specifically BNP is behind the communal attack

While the ruling government is playing dirty game on the life of minorities with the Indian intelligence R&AW , minorities are paying a high cost

Re: [mukto-mona] 'Please save my future generation'

A great piece indeed written by Inam Ahmed and Julfikar Ali manik. My eyes got filled with tears. Will those beasts in Ramu be ever brought to justice?

'Please save my future generation'

Inam Ahmed and Julfikar Ali Manik, from Ramu, Cox's Bazar
The Buddha statues made of gold are lost forever. The intrinsic designs of Khadi wood are lost in the inferno. The Tripitak is lost too. But for Shreemad Satyapriya Mohathero, who had just turned 83, the loss and pain are even greater. He has lost all faith in his knowledge and reading of humanity.
"Even in 1971, I did not see this grotesque brutality on us," Mohathero says. Mohathero is the second highest priest of the Buddhist community in Bangladesh.
"Muslim men and women had taken refuge in my monastery in 1971 to escape the wrath of the Pakistani army," the feeble man says. "I have saved so many Muslim souls from the brutal persecution of the Pakistanis. Today I feel defeated."
The Mohathero slowly walked into the Sima monastery yesterday afternoon, supported by his disciples. He went from one pagoda to another, and looked at the defaced, damaged statues of Lord Buddha and the nobles in a state of stupor.
He was sweating. He was shaking in pain and exasperation. And he spoke in his gentle, quaint voice.
The Bangalees who had taken refuge in his monastery invented a trick to evade the Pakistan army.
"I am a China Buddhist," they would tell the Pakistan army when intercepted. When Bangladesh was at war, China sided with Pakistan. This is why the Pakistan army had great respect for anyone affiliated with China. A China Buddhist was a respectable person and so was to be spared persecution.
"The Pakistanis did not torch our village. This attack is totally out of the blue," Mohathero says. "This is an attack on my religion. I have no foes."
And yet he had to run for his life. When the mob attacked his monastery, his disciples held him on both sides, lifted him off the ground and carried him into the paddy field. That is where he hid the night and survived.
"My civilisation is lost. My lifetime of worshipping has gone in vain. I am a lost man and lost I will be," he says.
"Please save my future generation! Please!"

Re: [mukto-mona] Humor

While the student is ignorant, the professor is a man of weak personality and low self esteem. The professor gave in so easily. It is a bad dialog aimed at ridiculing science. Just to prove that religion is absolutely a matter of faith, such a shallow dialog was unnecessary. It is an insult to science. The dialog has probably been written by a fundamentalist.

TAKE TIME TO READ. It's worth reading it. Trust me :)

Professor : You are a Christian, aren't you, son ?

Student : Yes, sir.

Professor: So, you believe in GOD ?

Student : Absolutely, sir.

Professor : Is GOD good ?

Student : Sure.

Professor: Is GOD all powerful ?

Student : Yes.

Professor: My brother died of cancer even though he prayed to GOD to heal him. Most of us would attempt to help others who are ill. But GOD didn't. How is this GOD good then? Hmm?

(Student was silent.)

Professor: You can't answer, can you ? Let's start again, young fella. Is GOD good?

Student : Yes.

Professor: Is satan good ?

Student : No.

Professor: Where does satan come from ?

Student : From … GOD …

Professor: That's right. Tell me son, is there evil in this world?

Student : Yes.

Professor: Evil is everywhere, isn't it ? And GOD did make everything. Correct?

Student : Yes.

Professor: So who created evil ?

(Student did not answer.)

Professor: Is there sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness? All these terrible things exist in the world, don't they?

Student : Yes, sir.

Professor: So, who created them ?

(Student had no answer.)

Professor: Science says you have 5 Senses you use to identify and observe the world around you. Tell me, son, have you ever seen GOD?

Student : No, sir.

Professor: Tell us if you have ever heard your GOD?

Student : No , sir.

Professor: Have you ever felt your GOD, tasted your GOD, smelt your GOD? Have you ever had any sensory perception of GOD for that matter?

Student : No, sir. I'm afraid I haven't.

Professor: Yet you still believe in Him?

Student : Yes.

Professor : According to Empirical, Testable, Demonstrable Protocol, Science says your GOD doesn't exist. What do you say to that, son?

Student : Nothing. I only have my faith.

Professor: Yes, faith. And that is the problem Science has.

Student : Professor, is there such a thing as heat?

Professor: Yes.

Student : And is there such a thing as cold?

Professor: Yes.

Student : No, sir. There isn't.

(The lecture theatre became very quiet with this turn of events.)

Student : Sir, you can have lots of heat, even more heat, superheat, mega heat, white heat, a little heat or no heat. But we don't have anything called cold. We can hit 458 degrees below zero which is no heat, but we can't go any further after that. There is no such thing as cold. Cold is only a word we use to describe the absence of heat. We cannot measure cold. Heat is energy. Cold is not the opposite of heat, sir, just the absence of it.

(There was pin-drop silence in the lecture theater.)

Student : What about darkness, Professor? Is there such a thing as darkness?

Professor: Yes. What is night if there isn't darkness?

Student : You're wrong again, sir. Darkness is the absence of something. You can have low light, normal light, bright light, flashing light. But if you have no light constantly, you have nothing and its called darkness, isn't it? In reality, darkness isn't. If it is, were you would be able to make darkness darker, wouldn't you?

Professor: So what is the point you are making, young man ?

Student : Sir, my point is your philosophical premise is flawed.

Professor: Flawed ? Can you explain how?

Student : Sir, you are working on the premise of duality. You argue there is life and then there is death, a good GOD and a bad GOD. You are viewing the concept of GOD as something finite, something we can measure. Sir, Science can't even explain a thought. It uses electricity and magnetism, but has never seen, much less fully understood either one. To view death as the opposite of life is to be ignorant of the fact that death cannot exist as a substantive thing.

Death is not the opposite of life: just the absence of it. Now tell me, Professor, do you teach your students that they evolved from a monkey?

Professor: If you are referring to the natural evolutionary process, yes, of course, I do.

Student : Have you ever observed evolution with your own eyes, sir?

(The Professor shook his head with a smile, beginning to realize where the argument was going.)

Student : Since no one has ever observed the process of evolution at work and cannot even prove that this process is an on-going endeavor. Are you not teaching your opinion, sir? Are you not a scientist but a preacher?

(The class was in uproar.)

Student : Is there anyone in the class who has ever seen the Professor's brain?

(The class broke out into laughter. )

Student : Is there anyone here who has ever heard the Professor's brain, felt it, touched or smelt it? No one appears to have done so. So, according to the established Rules of Empirical, Stable, Demonstrable Protocol, Science says that you have no brain, sir. With all due respect, sir, how do we then trust your lectures, sir?

(The room was silent. The Professor stared at the student, his face unfathomable.)

Professor: I guess you'll have to take them on faith, son.

Student : That is it sir … Exactly ! The link between man & GOD is FAITH. That is all that keeps things alive and moving.

P.S.

I believe you have enjoyed the conversation. And if so, you'll probably want your friends / colleagues to enjoy the same, won't you?

Forward this to increase their knowledge … or FAITH.

Re: [mukto-mona] Insulting Quran picture in facebookLeads to violence in Coxsbazar

The "proper" thing to do is to find out who did the insulting and educate him/her peacefully about the Qur'an. Every time Muslims takes up laws in the own hands, they are not helping Islam but hurting Islam. Allah (SWT) is the defender of the Qur'an and He will protect His book from all damages. More the haters try to destroy it, it will be glorified by more people. Truth has such power over wicked people.

The holy prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was insulted many many times during his lifetime, he forgave all personal insults and patiently educated our forefathers about Islam. For his patience and forgiveness many became Muslims over the ages.

During the age of Facebook, we have to learn how to deal with it.

Hope Allah (SWT) grant us wisdom to act according to true spirit of Islam.

Shalom!

Insulting Quran picture in face book leads to violence in Coxsbazar

A section of unruly elements over a derogatory photo of the Holy Quran on facebook set ablaze at least six Buddhist pagodas and 30 homes at Merunloa village under Ramu upazila in Cox'sBazar  district on Saturday night.Nazibul Alam, Officer-in-Charge(OC) of Ramu Police Station, said, at least four people were injured in the mayhem that continued in the area for about two hours on Saturday night after ayouth reportedly posted a photograph disgracing the Holy Quran on the wall of his facebook.
Police arrested Uttam Kumar Barua, a resident of Baruapara, for his alleged involvement. The protesters blamed the blasphemous photo on the wall of a facebook for the violence. But it was not immediately clearif Uttam Kumar actually did it.
..
On Sunday morning, the Cox'sBazar district administration imposed section 144 in Ramu to prevent furtheruntoward situation.Soon after the violence, Uttam'sfacebook account was closed and police escorted him and his mother to safety, said the SP.The mob gathered on the roads at10.30 pm on Saturday night and chanted slogans against insulting of the HolyQuran.Since Sunday morning, Army, BGB,RAB and police have been guarding all the 27 Buddhist monasteries and pagodasin Ramu while police forces have been deployed in all other areas where theviolence broke out.The Buddhists, meanwhile, stageda human chain protest at the port city demanding exemplary punishment againstthe attackers warning that otherwise members of the community would wage agreater protest.
We condemn the Buddhist  boy who is responsible for the insulting Quran picture in Facebook.Action should be taken against him.At the same time all those who attacked the Buddhist temples and houses should be punished. No innocent person can be made responsible for the action of another person. The  temples should be rebuilt on government expenses and affected people should be compensated.

Re: [mukto-mona] Insulting Quran picture in facebookLeads to violence in Coxsbazar

We want to see criminals punished this time. Just blaming the " Opposition party" is not enough. I hope the new home minister will look deeper into the issue and punish the criminal who attacked on temples. There is NO excuse for such savagery.

If someone insulted the Qur'an, it could have been resolved peacefully by educating the person. Current administration needs to do more than just blame others. They are in power and need to set aside political talks and get down to business of running the country for a change.

Blaming is not the job of a sitting administration, their job is not protect EVERY citizen from such savage attacks.

Even the holy Qur'an ordered to respect religious places of all people. Who ever done this don't have any knowledge of Islam.

Shalom!

That's all Mr. Hannan could say. He should also have condemned those who took law in their own hands and engaged in communal violence.

[mukto-mona] Humor

Dear all,

Hope you enjoy reading it. Taken from FB.....

Peace!

=========================================================================================================

People like Hannan are the real problem for this kind of violence and Islam. This kind of idiotic mentality does not promote Islam. Can Islam stand to gain anything by antagonizing all other religions because of some idiotic photos or movie? Can Muslims afford to become pariah of the world? I do not think so. I hope the sanity prevails with people like Hannans or alternatively, he with his gang members would be totally justified to be profiled as criminals. These idiots deserve no charity from the civil people.
