Twin towers were taken down by Saudi pawns on the chess board.

Re: [mukto-mona] McCain carries water for whom?

Painting the Bangladesh liberation movement with a Soviet influence brush is grossly wrong. It is the US unjust and inhuman support for the Pakistani dictators that forced the democratic liberation forces of East Bengal to get closer to the Soviet bloc. Awami League was no communist party. If the USA did not support the Pakistani brutes, Bangladesh was likely to be more pro-American than pro-Soviet in 1971. In fact, with its internal democratic politics India was supposed to be a natural ally of the USA. But the brutes and idiots of the USA forced India to sign a peace treaty with the USSR before the American 7th fleet could get too close to Bangladesh to help the Pakistani barbarians.

Re: [mukto-mona] McCain carries water for whom?

It is really funny to see how easily Putin exposes US position in regards to Syria. US simply does not have any clear cut policy except to follow the crooked Turks. US would love to see Assad to prevail but with Putin in the picture, things suddenly have changed. Syrian situation strangely shows similarity with late seventies' Afghanistan. The crooked Turks would play the new Pakistani role while Syria would be totally dismantled and divided? Are we going for the same trap? What should be US's national interest here? Nothing except to aid Turks and Islamists against the Russians?

What's your point? Are you saying Islamist-phobia is unfounded?
Unfortunately, the entire world hates US foreign policies. I feel so bad for this great country. It should not be the case of this most resourceful, talented, generous and powerful country in the world. I blame on US ideology-based foreign policy around the world.  US policy makers firmly believe that policies that work here in the USA, must work everywhere in the world. That's been proven wrong many times already, yet policy makers in the US learned nothing.
As a result, still US goes around the world and push their own ideology and dismantle age-old regional system, only to find, in the end, that the US system is incompatible with the custom and culture of the region. It has happened everywhere US got involved.
Even now, US is trying to push democracy in Syria. I hear pundits are foaming their mouths with accusation of Putin for bombing US-allies in Syria.
I don't know if I will cry or laugh; suddenly, US has found ally in Syria to fight against the existing Assad government, just like US found Mujahedin allies in Afghanistan to fight against Soviet-backed government. These Pundits already forgot that US is now fighting with those allies. Exactly, the same would have happened to USA in Syria, if Putin did not intervene.
I listened to Putin's UN-address. His foreign policy is appealing, which is based on existing regional policies, meaning people and government decide what system they want in their country. This is quite different from the past cold-war era old Soviet ideology-based foreign policy around the world. I think his foreign policy will have appeal around the world, especially in the Muslim majority countries, since these countries will not be suitable for democracy in the near future.
Thanks.

Saddam, Khaddafi, Mubarak and Assads were/are simply great for their region. With the djinni out, Saudis have killed two birds with one stone, Radicals are on the move and Europe/US will face the music in another two decades when chicks will come home to...........

It is so unfortunate that US politicians do not have any leader, who knows the world history and culture to make educated and wise foreign policy decisions.
McCain has visited Syria a few times, and some people over there told him a few stories and showed him some strategic places to prove their points, and, now, he thinks he knows much more about Syria than people from there. The same goes with Bush/Obama/Hillary/Kerry etc.
When George Bush attacked Iraq more than 10 years ago, these people had no idea about Shia and Sunni ideologies, and had no idea about the group that is the danger to the Western way of life. Even today, they have no clue.
Also, they have no clue about what keeps Middle-East safe. To them, medicine for peace anywhere is – the freedom and democracy. Bush gave democracy in Iraq, and Barak Obama gave freedom in Egypt and Libya. The result speaks the truth.
Once again, they are making another mistake in Syria. American politicians think - if Asad is gone, as Mubarak and Gaddafi, peace will prevail in Syria. Just think about it; they have not learned anything from their past actions.
The difference between 'smart' and  'dumb' people is that smart people learn from the past mistakes, but the dumb people fail to do so.
Asad killed his own people; that's true, but, it is also true that those people revolted against his regime. Also, the truth is - Asad is a secular/westernized autocratic ruler, and he was never a direct threat to the Western World, just like Mubarak and Gaddafi. Now, who's the real foe, Asad or ISIS? Don't you think Asad will be a reliable force against ISIS? Then, why American politicians are hell-bent on bringing down Asad's regime now.
Only fight for ages in the Middle East has been between Shia and Sunni ideologies; outside force or ideology cannot solve this conflict. It seems that – smart Western politicians are unable to grasp it.
I hope, drunken politicians in the West will not dare to go against Putin. US has filed, it's Russia's turn now; let him try.

One Syrian lady puts him on spot! And, she is so right. Can Russians solve this with blunt force?
