[ALOCHONA] kids are waiting for your help

Chronic poverty, gender disparities and lack of awareness keep the majority of children in Bangladesh out of school. The quality of education is also marred by low completion rates and a shortage of schools and qualified teachers. JAAGO Foundation's initiative to provide free of cost English Medium education to the underprivileged children of the slums of Rayer Bazaar is a small but significant step towards solving that major predicament.

JAAGO Foundation realizes that education makes children less vulnerable to exploitation, introduces structure in their lives and alleviates the barriers to a better future. Many of us take education for granted, but numerous underprivileged children are not blessed with such a prospect. That is why JAAGO focuses on helping the most disadvantaged and vulnerable children aiming to provide a safe and protective environment where they can learn the basic skills needed to succeed in their lives. YOU also can make a momentous difference by contributing through sponsorship.

There's so much your donation can do

Every penny that you put towards a childs' education works many-fold. Your donation will help us get children from many other families into our school. It will also facilitate our efforts of building classrooms, supplying books and other instruments to the students, training teachers and working with the community to improve access to education for all children. You can donate in any of these ways:

Each child has a separate sponsor to bear his or her educational expenses. BDT 1000 (USD 15, EUR 10, GBP 10, CAD 15, AUD 15) per month is the minimum amount that covers all expenditures for one particular child. JAAGO currently is home to 280 children. 30 are still looking for sponsors. You can choose to sponsor any of them and change his or her life forever.

You can also choose to fund the necessary schooling equipments for any number of children you like. The estimated funds needed for each item per child per year are listed below:

This donation system is completely flexible. For example, you can choose to bear the expenses for all the items of one child, or you can donate money for the schoolbags of 30 different children.

How does JAAGO select its students from thousands of applicants?

JAAGO selects its students from the poorest families whose parents  are completely incapable of carrying out their kid's educational expenses. JAAGO also puts special consideration on selecting those children who have single parents.

Each of these kids has a designated individual sponsor to bear all the educational expenses of him/her. By contributing BDT 1000 (USD 15, EUR 10, GBP 10, CAD 15, AUD 15) per month, you can also be a part of this noble endeavor of facilitating the achievement of these kids' highest potential.

I want to sponsor!

We highly recommend that the sponsors are involved in the lives of the child they sponsor. In a way, sponsors can serve as mentors as well as financial providers. If you are interested in sponsoring, please arrange for a visit to JAAGO Foundation by phone, email, or just dropping by during regular school hours.

Once you become a sponsor, you will receive your child's photo, biographical information, and report cards so you can track his or her progress. If you have any additional questions about your role as a sponsor, please call Samiul Haque, the Assistant Sponsorship Manager at +88 017 1312 3077 or emailsamiul.haque@jaago.com.bd.

[ALOCHONA] FW: Upright Opinion: Someone There to Rescue Pakistan!

Someone There to Rescue Pakistan!

By Saeed Qureshi

Is there someone who can rescue Pakistan and its hapless people from the bloody clutches of Wolves and predators in the garb of humans? A massive deep drift and deadly decay is caving into the fabric of Pakistan and debilitating it like slow poisoning.

If you  have a heart then tell me honestly: is it possible to  survive in a monthly earning of Rs. 5000(if you have job) in a country where cabbage is 100 rupees a kilo and a watt of electricity cost Rs. 10. On the other far extreme of this bleak sight, there is a prime minister who spends millions on the visit of American philanthropist Angelina Jolie  to take her around the shelters of the displaced Pakistanis ravaged by the last year's flood and living under the open sky.

She was rightfully incensed and left with eerie feelings about the sincerity of leadership in Pakistan. She was stunned to see the extravagant and lavish lives of the people in power, contrasting their starving and hopeless millions. The prime minister threw away millions of rupees on his son's wedding. His son is arraigned for a mammoth money scam that is pushed under the carpet in brazen defiance of legal obligations. Every minister is busy in amassing money and making hay during their tenure of power.

There is a president whose pastime is to roam from one world capital to another in presidential jet for purposes that are as questionable and mysterious as his bona-fides. You have a president who is laden with the crime and delinquencies and is scot free. He is totally alienated from the people whom he is supposed to serve. The Pakistan People's Party that was hoisted to the roost of power on the crest of a people's revolution is now sunk in the bottomless abyss of wickedness that one can think of.

The government has discovered an easy and most handy way-out to provide more voltage to the harassed people of Pakistan now growing old and shrunken under the sweltering heat and grinding poverty. It is to rent the second hand or used power units from foreign countries. These are leased on unusually high prices that also carry their fabulous commissions. The burden of payment to the lessor( the seller) and the commission of the lessee (the minister of power or brokers) are passed on to the consumers who are already turning hunchbacks because of unbearable burgeoning economic burdens.

Lawlessness in Pakistan and pointedly in Pakistan's leading city Karachi seems to be a blood soaked legacy of the Rwandan massacre. There is no let-up in bloodletting between the rival factions or by the trigger happy shooters. One can draw the only conclusion from incessant wanton killings that either the government is an accomplice or it is not concerned about such manslaughters and target killings that have become the order of the day.

Where is the hope for a secure and placid future? The misnomer is being peddled that a worst democracy is better than the best autocracy or dictatorship. Do the people want the incumbent democracy to continue and keep spilling disaster every day, every hour and every minute?

I am indeed very sad and dejected over the spiraling violence that is devouring and swallowing the precious lives of the ordinary citizens without any conscious effort or plan by the government to arrest this frenzied trend and madness escalating horrendously.

The media and judiciary in Pakistan are bracing against the defiance of the government that casts media as anti state and throws supreme courts orders to the winds. How willfully and sarcastically, the administration sets aside, the apex court's ruling on elephantine cases of corruption, dereliction of duty and gross abuse of power. There is a litany of such cases where supreme courts have been turned into an institution of ridicule and powerless by the administration by not taking the follow up administrative measures.

Such is the abysmal state of affairs that is getting murkier by the day. Pakistan is turning into a dysfunctional state as life in that country is turning traumatic and unbearable. Agonized and panicked crowd called the people of Pakistan are hankering for water, good sanitation, genuine medicines, cure for their patients, good transportation, affordable prices of commodities, safe environment, speedy decisions, honest and responsible government functionaries such as police officials and officialdom.

Anyone can kill anyone on any pretext with remote chance of the culprits being caught or punished. This is the image and construct of a civil society in Pakistan that is worse than those existing during the middle and dark ages. We in Pakistan have put the gear of governance in reverse order while other nations are rapidly advancing on the path of progress, prosperity, unity and strength. There is no use of projecting ourselves as nuclear power when the common man is caught in a fatiguing struggle of earning two loaves of bread for his starving children.

Why is the army fighting a war to serve the interests of other nations? It is a supportive fight for establishment of neo-colonialism whose agenda is to establish military bases, capture markets and to further their nefarious objectives of robbing and exploiting the untapped resources of the captive nations for their factories and mills.

The Pakistan armed forces are mandated to protect Pakistan and its people from external aggression. It is not obligated to fight in submission to the wishes and designs of foreign powers that nurse their own blighted concepts of self protection and priorities. Why should Pakistan a poor and economically weak country become pawn and part of the global diabolic game that is hollowing her from inside like termite and one day the edifice would crumble to the ground?

Can the leaders of Pakistan both in power and out of power think rationally and patriotically to apprehend and foresee the horrendous dangers and threats lurking over its stability and existence? Would they continue their sinister and insidious musical chairs game of intrigue and greed to take turn in ruling the country and grabbing power by foul and dubious means?

Do they realize that Pakistan is in deep and dire straits? Do they have an iota of commonsense to comprehend the hurricanes that are ferociously blowing to tear this country into pieces? Can they feel the pains and sufferings of the oppressed people of Pakistan passing every day through a life and death ordeal due to hunger, poverty, disease, unbridled and galloping cost of living and scarcity of items of daily use?

Do they know people are losing their lives because of bomb blasts and vendetta killings and gang wars? Do they know young girls are kidnapped on the way to schools and colleges and subjected to rape and sold to prostitute dens? Do they know every day 22000 young boys are molested by the sex predators in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan?

We call ourselves Muslims and that is what the Islamic demagogues exhort us from the pulpit and from lavishly decorated religious congregations, to become. What is the ground reality? These religious orators incite their followers and sect fellows to slander their opponents and even kill them.

These religious zealots never initiate or start a campaign or float a mission against the social crimes, against the blood-thirsty mafias, against the evil doers, the rapist, the thugs, the looters of public funds, the adulterators, the bribe takers and bribe givers, the up to neck corrupt parliamentarians, the easy to buy jurists, the corrupt bureaucrats, the sleazy generals and the robbers occupying the power corridors.

These religious preachers can interpret to hang a powerless woman for adultery but do not want to punish a muscular and powerful man who kidnaps her and ruins her life at gun point or knife. We believe in distorted version of religious injunctions that hardly bring us any relief, redemptions and justice against the heinous culprits. Where are we heading to?

How can a woman produce four witnesses to prove that she was raped or molested? How a young and teen age girl molested by savage men can brace against the perpetrators for dishonoring her? Why, in the first instance, the laws are not implemented in letter and spirit. If there is something erroneous in these laws and injunctions then we should be able to amend these for the benefit of the weak and the dispossessed.

I have a solution to stem this swelling rot. This would be presented in the next article.

[ALOCHONA] Worth a read - 1970s band America

Did not realize they were based out of the UK and that Dan Peek turned into a born again xtian.

Dan Peek: Singer and songwriter who co-founded America, the 1970s soft-rock trio who started life in Britain

The Independent

Thursday, 28 July 2011

Daniel Milton Peek, singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist: born Panama City, Florida 1 November 1950; married 1973 Catherine Maberry; died Farmington, Missouri 24 July 2011.

Often dismissed by British critics as soft rock one-hit wonders, America wrote and demoed their best known song, the highly evocative "A Horse With No Name", not in Laurel Canyon but at Arthur Brown's home studio in rainy Dorset, and recorded its sun-kissed harmonies not in Los Angeles but at Morgan Sound Studios in North London in 1971. Comprising Gerry Beckley, Dewey Bunnell and Dan Peek, three US Army brats attending London Central High School while their fathers were stationed at the US Air Force base at RAF West Ruislip, Middlesex, in the 1960s, they were discovered by Jeff Dexter, the host and promoter of underground events at London's Roundhouse, and his friend Ian Samwell, who produced their eponymous debut, as well as "A Horse With No Name", a stand-alone single subsequently added to the album.

Their success in the UK and the rest of Europe prompted the trio's label, Warner Brothers, to launch America in the US with resounding success: "A Horse With No Name" replaced Neil Young's "Heart Of Gold" at the top of the charts there in March 1972. Over the next five years, the group scored a further eight Top 40 hits in the US, including the beatifically blissful "Ventura Highway" and "Tin Man", penned by Bunnell – the writer of "A Horse With No Name" – "I Need You" and "Sister Golden Hair", the ballads composed by Beckley, and "Don't Cross The River", "Lonely People" and "Today's The Day", written by Peek, who leaned more towards country music and easy listening.

"It was a Cinderella story, but once it happened, it turned into a freight train," Peek reflected last year. "I was a spectrum drug abuser, alcoholic, you name it. I tried everything. I tasted every possible thing. I had a spiritual compass, but I abandoned it completely." The multi-instrumentalist and gifted lead and harmony singer left the band in 1977 after the release of Harbor, their fourth album, made with the Beatles' producer George Martin.

Peek cleaned up his act, became a born-again Christian and a mainstay of radio stations featuring the emerging genre of Contemporary Christian Music with his albums All Things Are Possible (1979), Doer Of The World (1984) and Electro Voice (1986). In 2004, he published an autobiography, An American Band: The America Story. Beckley and Bunnell continued as America and made an impressive return to the charts in the early 1980s with "You Can Do Magic" and '"The Border" after signing to Capitol Records. They are currently touring the US and are about to release an album, Back Pages.

Born in Panama City, Florida in 1950, Dan Peek came from a musical family on his mother's side and often sang with his brothers and sisters. Since his father was an Air Force officer, Peek and his family lived all over the US, and also in Japan, Pakistan and eventually Britain.

By 1967, when he met Beckley and Bunnell, who shared his peripatetic background and love of music, Peek played guitar, piano and harmonica and had begun writing songs. He joined Beckley in a band called the Daze, and after a year at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, returned to the UK in 1970 and teamed up with him and Bunnell. Their inspired choice of name referenced the Americana jukebox in the cafeteria on the base where they had previously worked, as well as the homeland they had seen little of, and instantly got them noticed. "We wanted to set ourselves apart and not be seen as English guys trying to do American music, but instead accentuate that we were an American band," Peek explained.

Dexter found them various gigs, including a bottom-of-the-bill slot at a Christmas show featuring Patto, Elton John and headlined by The Who at the Roundhouse, which led to offers from DJM Records, Atlantic and the British arm of Warners, the company they signed to. Having turned a demo for "Desert Song" into "A Horse With No Name" at Samwell's behest, America found themselves with a worldwide hit and on a US tour supporting the Everly Brothers, whose heady harmonies had inspired their own sound. Comparisons with Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young became par for the course, especially when they joined the same management company, run by industry heavyweights David Geffen and Elliot Roberts, and relocated to Los Angeles, where they rubbed shoulders with Joni Mitchell, Jackson Browne and the Eagles, another soft rock group who cut their first album in London.

America produced their follow-up, Homecoming (1972), which featured the apposite Peek composition "California Revisited" and charted on both sides of the Atlantic, but after the relative failure of their third studio album, Hat Trick (1973) they hired Martin, who insisted the trio return to the UK to record Holiday at his AIR Studios in April 1974. With "Tin Man" – inspired by The Wizard Of Oz – and Peek's "Lonely People", co-written with his wife Cathy, both making the Top 5, the million-selling album restored their fortunes, and the America-Martin partnership purple patch continued with Hearts (1975), which included Peek's Caribbean-flavoured minor hit "Woman Tonight" – and Hideaway (1976) – featuring Peek's lovely "Today's The Day" which topped the Adult Contemporary Charts and was their last major hit for Warners.

Despite his espousal of the rock'n'roll lifestyle he eventually eschewed, Peek wrote thoughtful lyrics and had something of George Harrison about him. The central role he played in the America story and his contributions to their extensive 1970s repertoire have sometimes been overlooked, with radio programmers concentrating on "A Horse With No Name", "Ventura Highway" and "Sister Golden Hair", the obvious recurrent oldies written by his bandmates.

[ALOCHONA] FW: {GRP} Scholars raise voice against dowry

Earlier I posted an announcement for this meeting.  I am now glad to post the outcome of the meeting.  Let us hope the ajami Muslims of the subcontinent will take heed. Violence against women centering on dowry dispute has become a kind of national entertainment in India and Bangladesh.

Raise voice against dowry

People urged in a resolution to boycott attending the un-Islamic marriage parties.

Dowry and Reception day dinner forced on bride's parents is illegitimate.

Scholars at Jeddah Seminar _ 20th July 2011

Scholars belonging to various schools of thought gathered on one stage and declared unanimously that the system of dowry prevailing in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh is not Islamic. It is corrupt, therefore, illegitimate. Presided over by Mr. Ahmeduddin Owaisi, organized by Socioreforms Society of Jeddah on 20th July, 2011 at Asian Delight Restaurant, Jeddah will be remembered by many with the incident that the electricity broke down before the start of the prog. People sat in severely hot and humid hall for two hours, sweating heavily, still did not move from the seats until the last speaker.

A resolution was signed by the scholars and audience both saying "The wedding parties will be boycotted where there will be dowry or wedding day dinner if given by the bride's guardians".

Aleem Khan Falaki who presented the resolution said in his opening speech that the dowry and the Reception day's dinner is allowed in Islam if spent by the bride-groom. This system has been reversed, the bride's parents are compelled to spend, therefore it is not legitimate in Islam. Highlighting the worst consequences, he said the people are crushed financially due to this extravagance. As a result there is alarming Increase in the rate of divorces, prostitution, immoral activities among the youths, girls' marrying to unmatched men without parents permission, court cases of strained relations etc. The witchcraft or satanic magic holders are exploiting the society by luring them to make the grooms slave to the bride. Most important damage is that the inheritance rules in Islam which Quran describes as Line of Control are spoiled due to the dowry system. Once the girls are paid lot of dowry they are deprived of the inheritance of the father. On the other hand the sons too are deprived of the money which they could use to start the business, but they are bound to search odd jobs as the parents are compelled to spend whole saving for the daughters' marriages.

He said the dowry and wedding dinner is a bribe, Israaf (extravagance, a need that is not genuine but created for the sake of pomp, show off for the sake of maintaining the status in the society), reversing of Quranic verses (Quran defines the "man" as who spends from his pocket on women but due to the dowry system the women have become "man" as they are spending from their pocket to buy the man), social blackmail and male prostitution (the price of the groom is fixed on the basis of the qualification, earning, family status etc, and vice versa if the woman Is less beautiful or less educated or widow or divorcee, she has to pay more to the groom), therefore the dowry is Haraam. He presented 2-point Resolution

  • Boycott the dowry ridden marriages and let the inviters feel guilty
  • Boycott the wedding day dinner if given by the parents of the girl, this type of dinner is against Sunnah.

All the scholars overwhelmingly supported the resolution in the light of Quran and Hadees.
Maulana Mohammed Banayeem, a well known Khateeb and scholar of Jameeatul Ulema-Hind based in Jeddah said the dowry system has become a cancer, Mere admonitions or advises will not effect, it needs operation, the boycott is must. He quoted the Prophet's saying "make the Nikah (marriage act) so much easy that the adultery becomes difficult" but today those who are spending a lot on the wedding day dinner and dowry are helping the adultery to become easy.

Maulana Fazlurrahman from Pakistan's Jamaat Ahle-Hadees said that the Prophet had instructed to make the criteria of piousness instead of money, beauty etc in the selection of boy or girl. Otherwise Allah imposes fitna and fasaad . Today whole world is engulfed in the punishment of Fitna. Every act which is not on the method of the prophet is a mutiny against Islam. When no government can tolerate any mutineer, how Allah will tolerate any mutiny against him? He supported the resolution on the basis of pomp and show off.

Sheikh Hidayat Sheikh Hamed, well known scholar and orator of Shia community said "people make excuse of the dowry items given to the Prophet's daughter Fatima peace be upon her". He said it is a biggest lie. All scholars of Sunni and Shia religions agree that the dowry purchased was from the money given by Ali peace be upon him as Mehr. He said dowry is defined as that thing which is from Man's money, not woman's otherwise it is illegitimate.

Well known scholar of South India's biggest and oldest Islamic university "Jama Nizamia" Maulana Abdul Qadeer Tahir Qadri said the practice of dowry or eating on the expense of girl's parents' expense is an act of begging. Begging is illegitimate in Islam. He quoted the Prophet's saying that "Giver's hand is better than takers hand". Whether it is given with consent in the name of the system or it is demanded, in both cases the taker is lower and giver is better and higher. It is against the self diginity and insult to the man's pride of manlihood.

Sheikh Arshad Basheer Madani, a well known ETV Urdu scholar from Medina University and MBA from England strongly supported the resolution and said the horrible damages to the society due to the dowry system are just uncountable. This has indulged the whole community in many morally corrupt activities. He showed how the Government of India too has introduced strict laws to curb this but, since the people do not hesitate to violate the Prophet's own instructions, how can they abide by the Government laws? He presented the statistics of feticide, infanticide, dowry deaths, harassments and court cases etc and proved that the dowry has scattered an imbalance in the society.

Chairman Mr. Ahmeduddin Owaisi hailed the anti-dowry campaign and assured that AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi is taking up this campaign to every locality. He said that the dowry, as said by the scholars, is totally unIslamic, and until a few years ago there was neither such dowry problem nor there were the compulsions of lavishly dinners. The excess of money is generating the extravagance. He supported the resolution and appealed to everyone to support to eradicate the dowry and wedding day dinner from the society.
In the conclusion over 200 men and 50 women pledged to boycott the dowry and dinners by raising hands and signed the pledge.
On the vote of thanks by Dr. Haroon Sayeed and Saleem Farooqi, the successful function came to an end.

India wants total surrender

by Zana Ghutekurani in FaceBook

Bhaskar Roy doesn't understand why the people of Bangladesh are not happy with India, though he praises Bangladesh Awami League and Mujib.

In his article Eurasia Review he says : "In 1971, the most common words on the lips of a common Indian was "Joi Bangla", victory to Bangladesh. The India-Bangladesh honeymoon lasted till August 15, 1975, the day Sk. Mujibur Rahman was assassinated" …. that one night India-Bangladesh relations went into a tail spin".

He asks, "Should religion divide Bangladesh and India? If that were so, then East Pakistan would not have broken away from West Pakistan to liberate itself. Language, culture, tradition, blood and history proved much stronger than religion. India has around 18 per cent Muslims and Bangladesh has around 14 per cent Hindus".

Why Mr Roy informed 14% Bangladeshis are Hindus I do not know. Did he make mistake? or over the years the population of Hindu migration into Bangladesh increased, or they have plan to migrate ? Let me not become paranoid now before reading the whole article.

Though Mr Roy gave us wrong data, this is not my problem, the problem is his claim "Language, culture, tradition, blood and history proved much stronger than religion" which sounded very contradictory to me. Because:

1. Urdu was created inside India, yet did not get place.

2. People of Bangladesh, who are Muslims and mixed have blood connection with Afghanis, Middle Eastern gene pole (Muslims are not restricted to marrying within castes).

3. Traditional (e.g.,celebrating EID, Shab-e-Batar) similarities with other Muslim countries. 4. Bangladeshis have clearly afghan and middle eastern influenced eating habits (Polaw,Firni, use of various spices, Halwva etc).

4. Along with many other ancestors (e,g., adivasi tribes ) Bangladeshis have blood connection with Afghan, Persia and other Middle Eastern countries. The blood connection also connects them with Muslims in India and also in Pakistan apart from religion.

5. The most striking difference is suggested by History which suggest that there were a clear difference between East Bengal and West Bengal even before the arrival of the Muslims.

Therefore, when Mr Roy tells, "Historically, in the region of greater India that is Bangladesh there was hardly any religious conflict to talk about between the two communities" I did not have anything to say, as he completely forgot to mention all the conflicts and the struggles that the people of this part were having and how they were subjected to change themselves to adjust with the minority.

But things did not stop here , he surprised me while advises "it would be wise for today's politicians like Begum Khaleda Zia to heed the advice of these roving philosophers of yester years if they really want peace and development."

When the/a Roy tells about the development of Bangladesh, it may scare our people as probably people will not be able to trust it. The article itself contains the main reasons. One obvious reason is that Mr Roy's inability to understand the reasons behind the dissatisfaction of the people of Bangladesh.
Later he accuses two political parties of this country, BNP and Jamaat for harbouring "visceral hate-India mindset" because "After all, they were committed to Pakistan and remain so" . Especially he deliberately accuses Jamaat-e-Islami (JEI) and its allied religious groups.

I have no information on if Jamaat and other Islamic parties expressed its hatred towards India, but, if anyone criticise Indian aggression and actions towards its neighbouring countries and if this is interpreted as "visceral hate-India mindset" I question the objective of such articles.

Mr Roy keeps on saying, "In the early part of this decade the JEI leaders appeared to have been confident to form the government in Dhaka on their own by 2012. They also spoke of making Bangladesh a confederate of Pakistan." At this point it seems he is scared of a Bangladeshi Party in Bangladesh for its work inside Bangladesh. I wonder why is that?

The second political party he accuses is BNP. "But what is Begum Khaleda Zia's enduring problem with India?", he asks . "Her late husband President Zia-ur-Rehman was a liberation war hero and fought along with Indian soldiers. But why did he turn against India so viciously? He even banned "Rabindra Sangeet, songs written by Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore. But he stopped short of changing the Tagore Song "Amar Shonar Bangla" which Bangladesh adopted as its national anthem after liberation. Today, Tagore is more alive in Bangladesh than even in India, clearly underlining how strong culture can be as a cohesive bond surmounting religious barriers."

Again , I am not sure if Mr and Mrs Zia ever expressed their "visceral hate-India mindset" and banned "Rabindra Sangeet? Neither I realised why he was advocating for Tagore written national anthem which was written 100 years ago when the condition of the subcontinent was completely different.
Then he keeps going on, "But she has always suggested by her behaviour and policy a deep emotional link with Pakistan". Yes , Mr Roy mentions current Pakistan's 13 times, expressed his enormous "visceral hate-Pakistan mindset". Completely forgot that in 1947, the people of east Bengal constituted Pakistan willingly along with other present Pakistani provinces. He was completely oblivion of the fact that the present day Pakistan was a part of British India, quite a big number of its population migrated from present India too. If he could not forget expressing his hatred to formation of Pakistan , if India could not remove its animosity towards its own people for choosing and wanting to build a nation and harbour their "visceral hate-Pak mindset", how can how can they expect others to love them?

The article is a packed with wrong information, hatred towards Pakistan, hatred towards the muslims, accusation towards two political parties supported by many Bangladeshi people, alluring people towards development, and showing Bangladeshis the "only way" of development is to suck up India, preparing people not to change national anthem, accusing people for their personal choice (liking or disliking India) and of course trying to make people grateful towards India for the distress caused during 71.

Please note, the writer Mr Roy writes for SAAG. SAAG is the South Asia Analysis Group, a non-profit, non-commercial think tank. It says "The objective of SAAG is to advance strategic analysis and contribute to the expansion of knowledge of Indian and International security and promote public understanding", in other words to influence and change opinion of people according to their goal. In other words this is part of Indian Intelligence.

Personally it is hard for me to hate anyone though I get annoyed by these
types of works. In Bangladesh I have seen many writers are feeding people with their garbage works. And exploiting peoples' trust to satisfy I request those pretending "atel" garbage writers to grow some social responsibility and not to engage in exploiting peoples' trust.

My words will not stop people from working in ignorance, rage, anger, envy , jealousy or even in exchange of tangible interests , but nothing wrong in asking for being sensitive and accept those people who are different and bear their difference.

I also request people from remain alert and aware about the activities of those organisations, such as, SAAG. This is an example of how India keeps its eyes on other countries and influence.

[ALOCHONA] Why we have to confined in a 55000 square mile?

The dream of an undivided India was a glorious one. But it is a finished dream.

That's why India wants to build a barbed wire fence along its entire border with Bangladesh and I have read that Burma wants the same.

We Bongus consider it a privilege that everyone wants a fence around us :)
