In this case, I was pointing to our language. How supporting Pakistani (Even the cricket team!) became "Razakar" in our daily language. Every citizen has right to support any country or policy as long we don't support violence or criminal activities.
Let me give one more example. Many Muslims feel for the plights of Rohinga muslims, just because they are muslims. That's expected, and it's OK. Others will transform their philosophical support into active support by transforming it into revenge, and attack some innocent non-muslims. That's wrong. So, there is a difference.
>>>>>>>> 100% agreement with you. My concern is our administration knows that, pictures and videos are showing up from Myanmar and people are sensitive about it. They should have been more alert about it.
To be fair, I want to add a positive step in recent time as well. Since the Ramu incident the whole country stood behind victims of Ramu. It put enough pressure on them and we witnessed a peaceful Durga Puja and Eid celebration. Which shows we are well capable of maintaining peace as long it is a priority for us.
Violence under any excuse cannot be tolerated and should be opposed.
Next, I do not have enough knowledge of Urdu language to judge if Urdu is a bastard language or not. But, if it is true that - Urdu is nothing but Hindi, written in Arabic script, as he claimed, it can be called a bastard language of Hindi. You need to take this comment logically, not emotionally.
>>>>>>>>>> I cannot call myself any expert of Urdu. However I asked this question to a Pakistani friend of mine (Many years ago). He laughed and said the same thing. He said, both languages are very close. Urdu speakers use more Farsi and Arabic words in it and Hindi is like a different dialect at best. Written scripts are different but spoken is very close.
In fact the Bollywood film language is more close to Urdu than Hindi.
Both languages (Like most languages) have "Borrowed" words from other languages and if one of them are picked as a "Bastard" language by someone, the other origin is not much different.
Shalom!

Hindus cannot preach for India like that without being called RAW agents right away
\
>>>>>>>>>>> It is true in most cases BUT I don't blame Bangladeshi Hindus for it. They do have the right to support any countries of their liking. HOWEVER the very overt biases of Indian policies (River water share, border killing, product dumping, discriminatory marker access, hostile Indian media etc) made India VERY unpopular among common Bangladeshis. Therefore, supporting such policies is very difficult for either Hindus or Muslims.
India has many positives as a country and we (Common people) don't deny that. However when it comes to dealing "Justly" with Bangladesh, India has been very bad neighbor (Starting 1972).
That's a fact. It is also true that very few ever got punished for atrocities on religious minorities
>>>>>>>>>>>> NOT only minorities. I think very few criminals get punished in general. It is NOT a healthy situation and became a national crisis.
I haven't heard of anybody ever got unprecedented punishment for talking part in the communal riots.
>>>>>>>> WHY is that? The people of Bangladesh gave overwhelming votes for the most "Secular" party in Bangladesh. It is also true the most "Liberals/leftists" are very strong inside BAL administration. Minority and so call "Civil right organizations" only point finger to political opponents (Very predictable) whenever bad things happens. We have a sitting minister Dilip Barua (A leftist man) and you will not see him very vocal about Ramu incident. He could have protested publicly but even when own people were persecuted, he kept making absurd statements about "Achievements". I do agree this administration has some positives but during a national crisis like this, we should unite as a nation. Lives of innocent people cannot be used as pawns of politics.
Similarly when a low life name Nim Chandra Bhoumik was alleged to molest women in Nepal (His ambassadorship was a gift for his "service"), I have not seen any "secular" person protest. Since it was one of their "own" molester!!
We have tons of such examples. Similar things are seen in so called "Islamic parties" as well. Albeit Islam is VERY clear about establishing justice, good governance but they like to pardon criminals as long the victim is not personally known to them (This is true for most parties in general).
We have murderers getting "pardoned" by elected officials regularly (During both BNP and BAL era).
How the heck, you expect justice for ANYONE (Majority or minority)!!
It is true Awami League is infiltrated by many razakars, which may explain why minority situation remains the same even when Awami League comes to power.
:>>>>>>>>> I don't agree with it. Just for the sake of discussion, IF this is the case, WHY the good people inside Awami League are sitting on the rear end? It is their party and it is STILL their duty to conduct themselves in a respectable manner and keep the party in line of "Visions of Bangabandhu". As I said earlier, most people are brain damaged (With due respect) when it comes to politics in our country. Politics only reflect who we are as people.
Unless we as a people committed to freedom, justice, free speech, security, fairness, we cannot expect some creatures from Mars will do it for us. Blaming is our "National pass time" and we do it better than anyone. However we are extremely reluctant to point the finger at ourselves.
his article because of the term - Urdu is a bustard language.
>>>>>>>>>>> NO language can be called "Bastards. This is a uncivilized expression and one member simply pointed that out. I can be critical of Indian policies or treatment at the border BUT I should NEVER call Indian languages as "Bastards". That is known as "Hate speech". Even a country like India has tons of exclusively "Urdu" TV channels.
Personally I cannot speak Urdu but I think it is a very sick mentality when we frequently resort to "Hate speech" but expect others to respect us.
Listen, to protect human rights of the Hindus in Bangladesh, you must need help from the majority also.
As I said earlier, why so called "Unity council" do not have any Muslim leaders or members? If you cannot trust the most liberal person with Muslim name, WHY do you expect Muslims will keep helping you while some people keep malign our faith and people continuously?
Member Shubimol is right. Be alienating Muslims, minorities are only hurting themselves. To 88% population, it looks like a foreign issue. BUT fair treatment of minority population should be in our national agenda and (For Muslims) an Islamic goal (Because Allah ordered Muslims to protect minorities).
My two cents....
Shalom!

Re: [mukto-mona] Fwd: বাংলাদেশ সাম্প্রদায়িক সম্প্রীতির দেশ
No, you cannot compare Bangladeshi Razakars' support of Pakistan with someone's philosophical support of a country. When your support is philosophical, it is harmless. But, Razakars' support for Pakistan was not just philosophical, it was an active support. You need to judge neutrally.

Date: Friday, October 26, 2012, 5:28 AMIt is true that Muslims can support other Muslim countries openly without being called as agents of those countries>>>>>>>> Member Roy, you need not to travel very far. The way "Muslims" attacks other "Muslims" for being agents of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia etc in "Muktomona" is quite visible. The whole nation is polarized by politics. Often I find you in agreement with you BUT this time you are totally "Out of touch" with reality.
