Seikh Mujib ki Muktijodha chilen?
Seikh Syed Aslam ki rajakar chilen?

No, none of them were muktijodha.

But, Deshbondhu Zia was a muktijodha.

Dear Md. Aminul Islam

The issue is whether Al-Mahmood directly paticipated in
Muktijuddho or not ?

As I have said before:

If "just going to Calcutta in 1971 makes one a freedom-fighter"
is the definition of a Muktijuddha then it fits Al Mahmood
very well
... with this definition Al Mahmood was a great  freedom
fighter !!!!!!!!!

Md. Aminul Islam , you said "Even Mujib could not raise a
question about Al Mahmud's role in liberation ..."
Nor did the Ghosok Gen. Zia questioned Al Mahmood's role
as a freedom fighter  ...

Now, the Party that collaboraed with the occupation
regime i.e. Jamaate Islami is rewarding  him with a creast
and a Taka 50000/-  check for his role in 1971 !!!!!!!!!!

It will be worthwhile, if you describe Al Mahmood's role
in 1971 such as his inspiring poems or active duty in the
battle fields .....[Poet Al Mahmood was a young man of
35 in 1971]

We should thank Al Mahmood for not joining  Bodor Bahini
in 1971  under Matiur Rahman Nizami's leadership.. ... rather
he chose to go to Calcutta .....

BTW,  Poet Shamsur Rahman made his contribution in
his capacity for our liberation  and made our nation greatly
indebted to him ....Poet Shamsur Rahman recived Ekushe
Podok in 1977 during Ziaur Rahman's regime for his
contribution to Bangla literature [that includes his 1971
Liberation War poems].

Poet Shamsur Rahman's contribution to our war of
independence was tremendous, more than any
other living  poet of his time.

Again, Shamsur Rahman's participation in our War of
Independence is revealed through his poems in
"Bondi Shibir Theke"

Thanks

Syed Aslam

Even Mujib could not raise a question about Al Mahmud's role in liberation war though he was the editor of GONOKONTHO which was attacked by BAL n Al mahmud was jailed. Latter Mujib gave him job in silpokola accademi.
So   u  r more  Baksalist than Mujib.

Samsur rahman n Hasan hafizur rahman worked in Daily Pakistan during the 9 months war. They rejeked mujibs order >they did nor accept Mujib as a leader of Bangladesh. So they did not join our liberation war.Mujib was the leader of liberation.

Dear All

If "just going to Calcutta in 1971 makes one a freedom-fighter" is the
definition of a Muktijuddha then it fits Al Mahmood very well ... with this
definition Al Mahmood was a great freedom fighter !!!!!!!!!

Al Mahmood, then a young man in his thirties, did not join actively, in the
Liberation War efforts, either in the border area or in-side the country as
an Urban Guerrilla ........

In 1971 Al Mahmood was a frequent vistitor to the College Street Coffee
House and in Sonagachi in Calcutta (the then Kolkata) and had lots of fun.
He even got involved in a  s-scandal that brought much shame for
Bangladeshi- youths.

Oh yes, Al Mahmood definitely needed a certificate from  a Jamaat
sponsored parishad to be a freedom fighter !
[Yes what a great freedom fighter he was ???????????? ??]

What are his creative writings and Poems to qualify him even as a
War Poet? A War Poet is a poet writing in time of and on the subject
of war..... World literature shows us many poets who has faught
in the war fronts with weapons in their arms and or writing about patriotic
wars..

On the other hand, Poet Shamsur Rahman's wrote his famous poem
"Asader Shirt" which was written with respect to the mass uprising
of 1969 .  During the Bangladesh War of Liberation, he wrote a number
of extra ordinary poems based on the war.
Does it matter, that he stayed in Dhaka?
Poet Shamsur Rahman made his contribution in his capacity
for our liberation  and made our nation greatly indebted to him ....

These poems were so inspiring that they were recited at the camps of
freedom fighters and Shadhin Bangla Betar ....
Later these poems were published in "Bondi Shibir Theke"
(Tr. From Confinement in Enemy Territory) in 1972. During the historical
movement against Ershad  Shamsur Rahman published his book
"Buk Tar Bangladesher Hridoy" indicating the great sacrifice of
Nur Hossain [Sairachar nipat jak, Ganatantra mukti pak ]
Poet Shmsur Rahman's  most famous poem, is a poem written in 1971
during the liberation war in Bangladesh..

Shadhinota Tumi
Shadhinota tumi Robi Ţhakurer ôjor kobita, obinashi gan
Shadhinota tumi Kazi Nozrul, jhakŗa chuler babri dolano môhan purush
srishţi-shukher ullashe kãpa ...
Freedom, You
Freedom, you are the immortal poems and songs of Rabindranath
Freedom, you are Kazi Nazrul, the great man with waving unkempt hair,
raptured in your joy of creation ....
During 1990s.he becamea frequent target of the reactionary  politicians
as well as the Islam-passands of the country. This culminated in the
January 1999 attack on his life by the militan Islamist.
He survived the attempt.

Poet Shamsur Rahman recived Ekushe Podok in 1977 during
Ziaur Rahman's regime for his contribution to Bangla literature.
He was never declared a Muktijudha , even though his  contribution
to our war of independence was tremendous.

Again, Shamsur Rahman's participation in our War of Independence
is revealed through his poems in "Bondi Shibir Theke"

[ALOCHONA] Hasina to Mir Jafar: Culcutta to Mongla port

When East India company arrived in India, they only asked for temporary stay and facility to sell Britsh goods to Indians.  Clive, upon his arrival, only asked Nawab for temporary passage. Later, Clive took opportunity when young Nawab Sirajuddola did not want British to stay in Bengal. Clive cospired with MirJafar and won the battle. A temprary stay became slavery for 200 years of British colonialism.

Hasina doign the same as Mir Jafar did, she is selling the country to India. Giving transit to India through the territory of bangladesh, is a threat to our soverignity. Mujib did the same thing with Simla Pact. Hasina is doing the same thing again, she is postitute of Monmohon Singh. Seikh Mujib was a pimp of Indira Gandhi.

Again and again, BAL is selling the country. Major Dalim could not finish the job yet, people of bangla need to finish the rest, drive out hasina and her cronies from Bangladesh.

Never again Bangla can be another Palassy. Why are we forgetting?

Transit for India thru' Ctg, Mongla ports

Transshipment of goods from Nepal, Bhutan to Bangladesh, no step on Tipai Dam hurting Dhaka

Bangladesh eventually agreed to allow the use of Mongla and Chittagong seaports for movement of goods to and from India on both road and rail routes in a swap for transshipment of commodity consignments from Bhutan and Nepal through Bangladesh's frontier.

The highly significant deals are carried in a joint communique issued in the Indian capital Tuesday following Monday's summit talks between visiting Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and host Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh.

As per the agreed communiqué, Ashuganj in Bangladesh and Silghat in India "shall be declared" ports of call in establishing the connectivity between the two countries.

The IWTT Protocol will be amended through exchange of letters. A joint team will assess the improvement of infrastructure and the cost for one-time or longer-term transportation of ODCs (Over Dimensional Cargo) from Ashuganj. India will make the necessary investment and both governments agreed to expedite implementation. "Contractors from both the countries shall be eligible for the work."

The Prime Ministers agreed that the construction of the proposed Akhaura-Agartala railway link be financed with Indian grants. A joint team of the railway authorities of the two countries will identify the alignment for connectivity.

Agreeing on the major developments on the diplomatic front, they called for resumption of road and rail links between the two countries-cut off through the 1947 partition of the subcontinent at the end of the colonial British rule or following the 1965 Indo-Pakistan war when Bangladesh was under Pakistani rule as East Pakistan province.

Hasina and Manmohan further agreed that Rohanpur-Singabad broad-gauge railway link would be available for transit to Nepal. Bangladesh informed of their intention to convert Radhikapur-Birol railway line to broad-gauge one and requested railway transit link to Bhutan as well. Recognising the sufferings of the people on both sides in the face of scarcity of lean-season flows of the Teesta River, the Prime Ministers expressed the views that the discussions on the sharing of the Teesta waters between India and Bangladesh "should be concluded expeditiously" .

The two premiers directed their respective Water Resources Ministers to convene Ministerial- level meeting of the Joint Rivers Commission in this quarter of 2010. The Joint Rivers Commission will also discuss issues relating to Feni, Manu, Muhuri, Khowai, Gumti, Dharla and Dudhkumar rivers.

They also agreed on taking actions for the dredging of Ichhamati, river protection at Mahananda, Karatoa, Nagar, Kulik, Atrai, Dharla, and Feni.

The Indian Prime Minister agreed to support implementation of strategy of Bangladesh government to dredge rivers for flood control, navigation and access to ports. India agreed to provide, inter alia, dredgers to Bangladesh on an urgent basis. Bangladesh indicated the need for 9 dredgers.

Sheikh Hasina thanked Manmohan Singh for facilitating the provision of electricity in Dahagram-Angarpota enclave and invited India to construct a flyover across Tin Bigha Corridor for exclusive Indian use, as agreed earlier.

They agreed to comprehensively address all outstanding land-boundary issues keeping in view the spirit of the 1974 Land Boundary Agreement. In this context, they agreed to convene the Joint Boundary Working Group meet to take this process forward.

The two Prime Ministers directed their respective Ministries and agencies to cooperate closely and implement all decisions taken during the talks.

While recognising the need to check cross-border crimes, they agreed that the respective border-guarding forces exercise restraint and underscored the importance of regular meetings between the border forces to curtail illegal cross-border activities and prevent loss of life.

BSS adds: India has promised not to take any step on the proposed cross border Tipaimukh Dam which could affect Bangladesh's interest as the two countries today issued a joint communique, a day after talks between Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her counterpart Dr Manmohan Singh.

"The Prime Minister of India has reiterated the assurance that India would not take steps on the Tipaimukh Project that would adversely affect Bangladesh." the communiqué read.

The Prophet's Gift

Whenever the Prophet's (p.b.u.h.) followers reaped their first harvest, they brought early, fresh fruits to him. Then he would distribute them among those who sat around him. One morning, a poor man brought one fruit from his small farm and gave it to the Prophet (p.b.u.h.).

The Prophet (p.b.u.h.) accepted the gift, tasted it and then went on eating it alone while the companions watched. One of those present meekly said:

"O Prophet of Allah, you have overlooked the right of those who watch while you eat?"

The Prophet (p.b.u.h.) smiled and waited till the man who had brought the fruit had gone. Then he said:

"I tasted the fruit and it was not yet ripe. Had I allowed you to have some of it, someone would have definitely shown his distaste, thus disappointing the poor man who brought this gift.

Rather than make him feel bitter, I accepted the bitterness."

One late night Shaykh Bayazid Bustami was on his way home when he encountered a rowdy band of drunks on the street. One of them had a guitar and was playing it in a sloppy, annoying way. Bayazid wanted to avoid them but they were harassing everyone who passed by. As Bayazid walked by them, the leader of the bunch started insulting him in a very nasty way, calling him names and taunting him.

Bayazid told the man to stop his foolish talk but this made the drunken man even more angry.

The drunk picked up his guitar, lifted it high over his head and then brought it down, smashing it over Bayazid's head. The guitar shattered into a dozen pieces and blood streamed down Bayazid's forehead. The rest of the drunks paused for a minute and then started yelling and laughing again.

Bayazid didn't say a word and went home in silence, wiping the blood off his head with a handkerchief.

The next day, Bayazid gave a basket of candy and a few dollars to his servant and directed him to go to the leader of the drunks and tell him the following words:

"Last night my head was responsible for breaking your guitar. Please buy a new one with this money. And also I found that your tongue was very sour last night. Please remove the sourness of your tongue by eating these sweet candies."

When the drunken man received the gifts, he was so filled with shame and repentance that he brought his entire rowdy group to Bayazid and begged for forgiveness. He gave up drinking and became a righteous Muslim from that moment onward.

A Poor Man At The Palace

Once a poor, unkempt man appeared at the gate of a king's palace. He was in rags and not at all suitably attired to be admitted into the presence of a monarch. So the guards stopped him.

"You cannot enter the palace in rags," they said.

The man insisted. He began to quarrel with the guards, raising his voice so loud that the king heard it."

He sent for the man.

When he appeared before the king, the noblemen around raised their eyebrows. What was this pauper doing here?

"What is your problem?", the king inquired.

"Oh, I have many problems. But the immediate one is that your guards refused me entry into the palace. Am I not your subject?"

"Yes, you are.....indeed, you are. But you must dress properly and suitably," the king said.

The poor man looked up and said, "O king, it is not wrong to enter a palace in rags and empty-handed. But to come out from a palace empty-handed and in rags is indeed a disgrace."

The Stranger

The poor woman was breathless as she was carrying the bagfull of water to her house. A stranger took the bag and carried it for her.

Her young children were awaiting mother's arrival. The door opened. They saw that a stranger, carrying water, entered their house along with the mother.

The stranger put the water down and asked her:
"It seems that you don't have a husband to bring water. What happened?"

"My husband was a soldier. 'Ali ibn Abi Talib sent him to one of the borders and he was killed there. Now, here I am with these young children."

The stranger did not say anything else. He bent his head, said farewell and left. But he didn't forget, even for a moment, that woman and those children. He couldn't sleep that night. The next day, he carried a bag, full of meat, flour, and dates and went to her house. He knocked.

"Who is it?"

"That servant of God who carried water yesterday. I have brought some food for the children."

"May Allah be pleased with you."

The door opened and the stranger entered and said:
"I wish to do some good deed. If you permit, I shall kneel and bake the bread, or babysit."

"Well. I am better at baking. Why don't you watch the kids till I finish."

The woman left to prepare the dough. The stranger cooked the meat he had brought and fed it and the dates to the children.

As he was putting a bite in their mouths, he was saying:
"My child, forgive 'Ali ibn-e Abi Talib who has been neglectful of your rights."

When the woman had mixed the flour, she called:
"O' servant of Allah. Put the fire in the oven."

The stranger put fire in the oven, and brought his face close to the flames:
"Feel this fire. This is the punishment of one who neglects orphans and widows."

At this time, a woman from the neighbourhood walked in and recognized the stranger. She told the woman:
"Woe unto you. Do you know that it is Ameer al Mu'mineen 'Ali ibn-e Abi Talib who is helping you?"

The woman approached him:
"Shame unto me. Please forgive me."

"I should ask for forgiveness from you. I have neglected your right."

[mukto-mona] Ban Sharia. Ban Umma!!

Today in England, residents joined the families of the dead and war veterans to line the streets and watch servicemen's bodies being driven through from a nearby air base for soldiers killed in Afghanistan. Islam4Uk threatened to bring 500 British Jihaadis to oppose this solemn occasion. My fellow bloggers, now you know why I call the Muslims Brain Dead! What a disaster! The uproar has already begun. In response, the British government has banned this group and will confiscate all its assets. I say, strip them of their citizenship, and ship them back to Torah-Borah ASAP! Why must non-Muslim Westerners continue to assume that Muslim immigrants and Muslim populations in the West are completely loyal and accept Western values, when evidence continues to mount to the contrary? Time has come for us, the so-called moderates, to make that choice or be grouped with those who are hated for their murderous acts in the name of our religion. In this struggle there is no room for dual loyalties. The moderate Muslims must make a choice now. We must embrace the nation we live in, its laws, and reject the Sharia and Umma forever. We must not be a Muslim first and a citizen of a country second. These criteria should be the sole test of citizenship. If they answer that they are Muslim first—their application should be rejected immediately. With this ever present danger in mind--we, the moderate Muslims, must fully disassociate us from the ideology that seeks to have Islam dominate the world through violent and political means. We must renounce all attempts at establishing and imposing Sharia law in our communities and fight against it in other countries. My prayers go out to these martyrs, their families, and their loved ones. We shall never forget their sacrifices.
