Re: [mukto-mona] Re: Germany on the Brink

"Not liking changes or new ideas" is the dictionary definition of "conservative". Not liking changes in general is stubborn stupidity. For advancing societies and the world, people need to like good changes and good new ideas. Obviously, I like changes that are good, and do not like changes that are bad. You are wrong when you say that liberal people 'make decisions on the spot'. By the way, do you realize that most prestigious universities in the USA have something called "College of Liberal Arts"? There "liberal" means a well-rounded education. So, liberal means educated, while conservative means stupid. However, you can certainly say that some people abuse liberalism and end up doing stupid things, like what Angela Merkel seems to be doing.

So you like changes or new ideas, but do not like social changes that are happening in Europe. This is the danger of liking changes or new ideas; sometimes, changes or new ideas may not be good for you, and you may not know until it is too late, as occurred in Europe.
I am sure, Europe would like to revert to the old European Society, but it's too late now.
Conservatives, on the other hand, have some advantages in this regard; they can make decisions based on certain values or principles. Unfortunately, liberals have no such landmarks, so, they need to make decisions on the spot, and many of those decisions have probability of being wrong. That's exactly what happened with the PC cultures in the Europe; it's now running wild with it.

Oh, isn't this badgering, Dr. Roy? You have seen a lot of my writings, and you surely know that I do not respect unjust, hateful and barbaric cultures. I certainly like changes that are good for the world; but that surely does not mean that I like all cultures or that I do not despise some cultures.

Well, Dr. Roy, I think you need to do some more reading/research/observation on what "conservative" means in reality. "Not liking changes or new ideas" is not something that I would like. "Belief in the value of established and traditional practices in politics and society" is basically the same as what I said, "conserving the stupidity, injustice, hatred and barbaric behaviors of most of our human ancestors practically everywhere in the world." To me "fiscal responsibility" is neither conservative nor liberal; it is "responsible"; "social conservative" is regressive and accepting backwardness, including barbaric behavior.

As for Merkel, if she screws up her country with her policy of allowing too many religiously brainwashed unjust, hateful and barbaric people into her country, "stupid" would be the right word for her. Obviously, in a way she is smarter than people like me; after all she is the Chancellor of Germany.

I know why you do not like the word – conservative. Most of us, from where we come from, associate the word conservative as religious conservative only. But, in the West, the word 'conservative' mostly refers to fiscal and/or social conservative, not religious. This is because - most people here are not seriously religious anyway, be that liberals or conservatives.
Anyway, I can't say that Markel is a stupid person, but I can confidently say that - she is a social liberal. In fact, most people in the EU are social ultra-liberals, and that explains their PC culture, as well as, their visa-free entry facility throughout the EU in this day and age. Social conservatives will have hard time to accept such propositions.

So, the word that I would prefer to use on Merkel would be "stupid", which I would also use on a lot of politicians and intellectuals who claim to be secular and humane. It is inexcusable when injustice, hatred and barbaric behaviors are tolerated by claiming to be secular and humane.

When I heard the Mayor yesterday - it reminded me of the "Baghdad Bob" on Iraqi state-TV just prior to Iraq-invasion. He was calming down Iraqi citizens' fear and apprehension by saying that: there is no American soldiers anywhere in Iraq, while we were watching hundreds of American tanks were rolling through the Iraqi airport road.
Now, the leaderships of the whole world have become Baghdad Bobs, and no one is telling the truth to the citizens of the world.

Sorry for the wrong link that I sent a few minutes back. The above is the correct link; and again, I think it is a common sense commentary. I agree with Ross Douthat that Angela Merkel needs to go for the future of peace in Germany.

Re: [mukto-mona] That guy who took the selfie with the stripper . .

I like Ms. Majid's "un-Mental Disorder" phrase. Stripping and nude beaches are not illegal in much of the Western world; and it is actually not mental disorder to visit those places or to have a picture taken with a friendly stripper/nude person. It would be mental disorder if one thought that the strippers/nude people necessarily made themselves available for sex with anyone. I would vote for him if I liked his policies and if if he did not commit a crime like sexually assaulting someone, including a stripper.

Missouri Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder with Tammy Chapman
Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder is hoping his second shot at a gubernatorial bid goes a bit better than his first. In a campaign kick-off on Sunday in the town of Dellwood, Kinder joined the already-wild GOP primary to succeed term-limited Democratic Gov. Jay Nixon next year. It was an unusual place for a Republican rally: Dellwood is adjacent to Ferguson, and like its neighbor, it was scarred by riots after a grand jury declined to indict the police officer who killed Michael Brown.
But Kinder, of course, was unconcerned about abuses of police power. Rather, he focused on the vandalism that followed Brown's death, accusing Nixon of failing to deploy the National Guard "while Ferguson burned." Kinder's been saying this kind of thing all along: Earlier this year, he attacked Barack Obama and Eric Holder for participating in "incitement of the mob" and "encouraging disorder in Ferguson," and even went in for some old-school red baiting by claiming the Department of Justice was "staffed with Marxists and black radicals." So in that sense, Dellwood was the perfect spot for a Republican who wants to run on a bellicose law-and-order platform. >>>
