Most of these people, who are opining on liberation struggle, were either too young to understand the political circumstances at the time or were against the liberation struggle.
6-point movement was not about cessation; it was about autonomy and restoration of rights of Bengalees. That should be enough to prove that Mujibur Rahman did not want to break up Pakistan.
When West Pakistani rulers declined to consider any of those demands, movement took its own turn for cessation. In his historic speech on 7th March, Mujib called for independence, and asked Bangalees to start liberation struggle. I was there and was fully engaged in this movement.
I remember, after the speech, Mujibur Rahman remained in the background, and people took over the control of the struggle. No one could stop it after that.
So, there is no doubt that Mujibur Rahman tried hard to remain unified with Pakistan, but Pakistani rulers diverted the ongoing movement in the East Pakistan towards cessation.

Sir, I do not need any Bangla translation of that damn affidavit. Please read the whole damn thing and come back to discuss if you care. I bet, you are simply incapable of reading a 57 page document. In that affidavit, Yahya repeatedly said, Mujib was a liar and he could not trust Mujib. He blamed Bhutto too because he wanted to show that he was an innocent man? I bet you believe that too?
If you have an iota of human intelligence, you should understand on what circumstances Yahya was submitting that affidavit to a Pakistani court? The man was practically in a house arrest and forced to live with snakes and mosquitoes ( in his own words). So, you would judge Mujib on the basis of a single translated line without the context? Can you be such prick? And, you call yourself a Mukti -Jhoddha?
If you are a lazy man, please read at least page 37 (paragraph 7). I f you have any problem with Yahya's writing, I will give you a digitized version of that paragraph. Learn your own country's history!!!
