Re: [mukto-mona] McCain carries water for whom?

Watching wild west movie and looking for new frontiers to steal money could not produce better leaders. Short term gain always get priority over long term calculations.

McCain has visited Syria a few times, and some people over there told him a few stories and showed him some strategic places to prove their points, and, now, he thinks he knows much more about Syria than people from there. The same goes with Bush/Obama/Hillary/Kerry etc.
When George Bush attacked Iraq more than 10 years ago, these people had no idea about Shia and Sunni ideologies, and had no idea about the group that is the danger to the Western way of life. Even today, they have no clue.
Also, they have no clue about what keeps Middle-East safe. To them, medicine for peace anywhere is – the freedom and democracy. Bush gave democracy in Iraq, and Barak Obama gave freedom in Egypt and Libya. The result speaks the truth.
Once again, they are making another mistake in Syria. American politicians think - if Asad is gone, as Mubarak and Gaddafi, peace will prevail in Syria. Just think about it; they have not learned anything from their past actions.
The difference between 'smart' and  'dumb' people is that smart people learn from the past mistakes, but the dumb people fail to do so.
Asad killed his own people; that's true, but, it is also true that those people revolted against his regime. Also, the truth is - Asad is a secular/westernized autocratic ruler, and he was never a direct threat to the Western World, just like Mubarak and Gaddafi. Now, who's the real foe, Asad or ISIS? Don't you think Asad will be a reliable force against ISIS? Then, why American politicians are hell-bent on bringing down Asad's regime now.
Only fight for ages in the Middle East has been between Shia and Sunni ideologies; outside force or ideology cannot solve this conflict. It seems that – smart Western politicians are unable to grasp it.
I hope, drunken politicians in the West will not dare to go against Putin. US has filed, it's Russia's turn now; let him try.

Re: [mukto-mona] McCain carries water for whom?

What I said is based on logical facts, and not out of anger at anybody. Your observation about US foreign policies is completely wrong, because it is based on your blind faith on the US system.
Didn't you see how CIA research about Saddam's weapons of mass destruction came out totally false? Haven't you seen - how Obama policy of Arab Spring brought Arab winter in that area? Haven't you seen how US embassy got burned down, and 4 Americans, including US Ambassador, were killed by Islamists, and Obama administration was blaming on a movie made by a non-American. Are these signs of competence of the US-administrative system?
Don't you think – the recent fight in Syria is between Shia and Sunni fractions, and US has no interest in it? You need Assad in power now, else ISIS will run over the country after Assad.
Don't you remember - both Mubarak and Gaddafi were repeatedly warning Obama not to support the rebels, because those countries will become chaotic without Autocratic rulers? Probably, you didn't know any of these facts because liberal media was preaching you Obama administration policies. You need to open your eyes, once a while, to see facts around you.

What Dr. Jiten Roy has said are nothing but the utterances by an angry and frustrated person. He has every reason to be so. But politics is politics and economics is economics and these tools have different manifestations in different hands. In brief I have expressed my view on it and I still stick to it.
You know why America decided no to support the cause of Bangladesh independence. It was about Cold War. It was about Indo-Soviet axis versus Sino-American axis. It was about an ideology.  It was very natural that America would not do any thing that would strengthen the Soviet bloc and help spread communism throughout the whole world. Pakistan was a common friend of America and China. India was too stubborn not to move herself to the American bloc.
You have asked if America was aware about the outcome. The expected outcome was to stop the emergence of Bangladesh as a sovereign country. But it did not happen.

Look, US never has been short of great minds and scholars. US fell in love with Chinese communists but not with Indians? Were Indians less stubborn than Chinese? Of course not! These are independent countries and US knew that very well despite the cold war climate. They knew exactly what was the Indian motive and how far a leader like Mujib would go to establish a socialist country? Socialism based on Awami ideology? Give me a break! Some people did not do their homework right. Ironically, even illiterate Bangladeshis knew the outcome.

A 90-year-old Dalit man died after he was brutally attacked with an axe and set on fire for trying to enter a in Uttar Pradesh, police said on Friday.

The victim, identified as Chimma, had gone to the Maidani Baba temple with his wife, son Durjan and brother on Wednesday evening. He was stopped from entering the temple by a man named Sanjay Tiwari.

When Chimma did not relent, Tiwari allegedly attacked him with an axe and then set him on fire.

The incident took place in the presence of several other worshippers in Bilgaon, a village on the boundary between Hamirpur and Jalaun districts located 140km from Kanpur.

Police said Tiwari had been arrested after he was nabbed by other people present in the area. They said he was drunk at the time of the incident.

An eyewitness said Tiwari had asked Chimma and several others not to enter the temple but they refused.

He said Tiwari became furious and attacked the Dalit man with an axe. While Chimma's wife screamed for help, Tiwari doused the elderly man with kerosene and set him afire, the eyewitness said.

Two aides of Tiwari, who were named in the FIR filed by police, are on the run, said Mukesh Aghi, president of the US-Indian Business Council.

The cancellation of tour of Cricket Australia is another deep rooted conspiracy to tarnish the good image of our beloved country . It happened when Khaleda Zia is in London . When whole nation is upset with this unprecedented matter , BNP and their allies are in joyful mood . It seems they had anticipated this matter well ahead . They were in the same mood when World Bank stopped financing our dream Padma Bridge Project . Now its clear who were behind the Padma Bridge conspiracy .

Currently security environment in Bangladesh is much better than USA and other western countries . Fifteen innocent students were gun down in Oregon state of USA recently , bomb blast in front of Sydney police station killed two persons few days ago . There were no red alert and cancellation of tour of foreign teams in those countries ! Then why in Bangladesh ? Very recently teams from Pakistan , India , South Africa visited Bangladesh without any untoward incidents though situation was not favorable due to agitated movement by BNP and the Allies .

A vested quarter around the world doesn't want our cricket to flourish . The way Bangladesh is getting strength day by day , the big boss of world cricket is scared to lose their ground . The cancellation of Australia tour may be part of that conspiracy . If Bangladesh is unsafe for any cricket nation , then there is no safe place for CRICKET in the world right now !
