Re: [mukto-mona] Merkel Says She Will Deport 100,000 Migrants

I cannot conclude that conversion was the motive behind mass migration scheme, when we know, ~50% of Germans are leftist-socialist from the former East Germany.

Merkel's administration felt sorry for these people, and opened the door wide, without thinking through consequences; a typical emotional decision often held by liberals.

I think, Merkel wanted to bring cheap labor from Middle east and keep German industry humming. If she thought people would be converted to Christianity, she is totally mistaken. Yes, some will convert to get the residency but that is only by name. It is possible that there could be an upset in German election like Brexit or Trump types but it is too early to predict. Germans are very frustrated with the new refugees but would they rock the boat with a new Pegida people? Can they be so mad? Yes, Merkel will come around and show that she is really tough on terrorists.

According to this article, Merkel belongs to the "right flank" (conservative), and Germans do not like the leftists (liberal). The name of her party "Christian Democratic Union" does not sound liberal to me; after all, it has the word "Christian" in it. May be, she wants all the Muslim immigrants to covert to Christianity; that is why she takes the risk of bringing in some terrorists along with people who are not terrorists.

Looks like German voters do not like the available alternatives to Merkel. With her partial backtracking on the immigrants issue, she is poised to win the next election for Chancellor. So Germany's Merkel problem trouble is likely to continue.

Merkel Says She Will Deport 100,000 Migrants
More
In one of the most shocking flip-flops in recent political history, German Chancellor Angela Merkel now says she will deport about 10% of recently arrived migrants -- 100,000 of them. The beleaguered Chancellor said authorities would significantly step up the rate of forced returns as she battles to arrest an alarming slump in her popularity which has fuelled a surge in support for the far-right. Mrs Merkel, whose decision to roll out the red carpet to migrants from across Africa and the Middle East spectacularly backfired, has taken an increasingly tough tone on immigration in recent months. The stance marks an astonishing U-turn from the once pro-refugee Chancellor, who has been widely pilloried by critics at home and abroad for her decision to throw open Germany's borders to millions of migrants.
