Re: [mukto-mona] The generosity of Bangladesh By Dr Tariq Rahman (2nd Lt Pak Army Armoured Corp Ret 1971)

We need to be fair; soldier's job is to carry out orders. Pakistani soldiers were ordered to kill Hindus at the onset of the operation. This soldier violated that order, at least at that moment. We do not know what he has done during the rest of his tenure in Bangladesh. That particular soldier was probably a Balochi; I heard they were much more hesitant to commit indiscriminate killings.

You call this "generosity"? Well, let me tell what I think of that soldier.

He was better than his colleagues, who were worse than ferocious beasts the night before. Wild ferocious beasts kill for food, not due to raw hatred against the prey. The colleagues of that soldier killed and buried alive innocent students and professors at Jagannath Hall because of their raw hatred against the Hindus. (Their Muslim targets elsewhere in the university were not as indiscriminate as the Hindu targets in Jagannath Hall.) That particular soldier in the morning of March 26, 1971, was just being a normal human being, not worse-than-wild-beasts. I would call him "generous" by the standard of worse-than-the-jungle, not by the standard of a civilized human world. Thus, I would thank him for being a normal human being, but not go to the extent of giving him any big recognition. (I would have recognized him ceremoniously if he pointed his gun at his colleagues in order to try to stop their barbaric acts.)

I wish I knew the name and identity of another soldier, who was patrolling sidewalks by the pond of the North House of Jagannath Hall in the morning of the 26th March, 1971. I friend of mine was hiding in the water inside the bushes at the corner of the pond. He was watching the patrolling soldiers from there. Suddenly, a soldier's eyes fell on his eyes; he almost lost his senses, but - the soldier signaled him by nodding his head not to panic. The soldier kept on walking by as if he had seen nothing unusual. The generosity of that soldier saved my friend's life that morning. He told me this story after the independence. This particular soldier deserves recognition also.

However, I see dishonesty on the part of the leadership in Dhaka. They probably were doing a balancing act of trying to find people from Pakistan to honor. The gentleman was treated "with decency by the (Pakistani) army", was considered "'too much of an idiot' in subaltern parlance" and did not get much worse than "unsavoury remarks" from his compatriots. Did he really "earn the wrath of the (Pakistani) Military Junta"? He is decent enough to acknowledge that he did not. So, what was the purpose of the Bangladeshi leadership to unduly honor him?

The author talks about the will of the people of East Bengal to separate from Pakistan. Well, in reality, the people of East Bengal and even Sheikh Mujibur Rahman did not wish to be separated from Pakistan until the Pakistani military unleashed barbaric atrocities on them. To me, a soldier who fought the freedom fighters without committing war crimes (such as murder, rapes and torture) on the unarmed population was actually a hero, even though he was against my side. Like most other Pakistani intellectuals, the author is poor to mediocre when it comes to condemning the heinous crimes committed by the Pakistani military in East Bengal in 1971.

The generosity of Bangladesh
By Dr Tariq Rahman
The Express Tribune
October 14th, 2013

The mere fact that they had bestowed an honour upon me for merely following my conscience went beyond hospitality.

The hospitality of Bangladesh began in Islamabad with a phone call from the press counsellor of the high commission, who told me that I would be honoured with the 'Friends of Liberation War Honour' on October 1 by the president and the prime minister of Bangladesh in Dhaka. My name had, indeed, been mentioned in this context in a newspaper several years ago and I heard about it later from visitors from Bangladesh, but I did not think it could be true. In my opinion, I had done nothing to merit such recognition but now that it was confirmed, I was happy. A position taken strictly for the sake of one's conscience should be recognised. Well, the press counsellor Mr Istiaque Hossain, went out of his way to make the visit convenient for me. In Karachi, a colleague of his took care of me and on September 30, I was on my way to Dhaka — as I said before, the hospitality began in Islamabad and continued all the way.

In Dhaka, I came across a number of people, who had come to be honoured in this seventh phase of this programme to recognise heads of states, politicians, philosophers, musicians, writers, intellectuals, eminent citizens and organisations that had been supportive of the Bangladeshi cause in 1971. From Pakistan, I knew of Ahmed Saleem who had even suffered in this cause and had been honoured earlier. I also knew that Faiz Ahmad Faiz had been given the award with his daughter Saleema Hashmi having gone to receive it on his behalf last year. Also, Hamid Mir and Asma Jahangir had been here to receive the awards of their fathers. This time, too, there was Asfandyar Wali Khan, head of the ANP, to receive the awards being given to Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan and Wali Khan. Master Khan Gul, vice-chairman of the All Pakistan Awami League, was represented by his son, Professor Zafar Iqbal. There might be others in the past from Pakistan but I do not know about them.

I was feeling humbled as I kept reading what these people had done. They all appeared to be people of such character and action that I was a bit dismayed. And then, for the first time, I read my citation during the ceremony just before going to receive the honour from the dignitaries. Among other things it read: "and earned the wrath of the Military Junta". This was obviously an assumption since I had never made such a claim in my several writings about 1971, including a small paragraph on myself, which I had sent to the Bangladesh High Commission a few days earlier. Later that evening, I met the gentleman who had actually written this citation and, as I had guessed, it was an assumption but one in good faith. After all, it is rather difficult to imagine that a second lieutenant in the armoured corps of the Pakistan Army had condemned the military action, claimed that he was a conscientious objector to the 1971 War no matter where it was being fought and even expressed the opinion that Pakistan should have simply walked out of Bengal like the British had walked out of India as the majority had voted for their own rule.

I had been appalled by the stories I had heard of atrocities and my view was that the situation called for nothing but heeding the will of the people without any fighting. I remember talking about this to my commanding officer, Lt Colonel Ali Gohar, then Colonel (later Lt General) Kullue and even arguing about this unjust war with Lt General KM Arif. So it was not that I ever concealed my views but the point is that at the organisational level, nobody took notice of my very eccentric views. I suppose they thought me too naive and inexperienced to be taken seriously ('too much of an idiot' in subaltern parlance). At the individual level, there were people who passed unsavoury remarks and some individuals were less than charitable but on the whole, I was treated with decency by the army.

Indeed, my own father was far less charitable in his views about my attitude towards Bengali liberation but he considered me brainwashed. When I pointed out to him that I had no Bengali friends and nobody else I knew ever expressed such views, he was nonplussed but maintained that there was 'some crookedness in my mind' (dimagh mein terh hai). Having decided that I could not be a proper soldier since I would consult my conscience before every war, I first decided to escape to the Army Education Corps but, having realised that there, too, one has to motivate people for war, I finally resigned my commission. So, had there been no 1971, I would not have changed my career. As I was fond of cantonment life and it is privileged in Pakistan, this might be considered something of a sacrifice. But surely, it is nothing compared with people who had gone to jail, had family members killed, helped people as doctors in camps and evacuated Bengalis in great danger. Before such distinguished company, I really felt very humble but also grateful that the little I had done had been recognised as the voice of my conscience.

After leaving the army, I wrote short stories based upon the horrors I had heard about and my sympathy, as always, was with the oppressed people of Bangladesh. I also appealed to the Pakistani government to apologise to the people of Bangladesh for the military action and the atrocities committed from March till November 1971. But, of course, I added that in my view, the Bangladeshi government, too, should offer apologies to those Biharis and families of West Pakistanis who were killed before the military action and once the surrender took place. But since the government at that time was Pakistani, the first apology should come from this country. Moreover, there is no comparison of the scale. The number of Bengalis killed, tortured, raped and burnt was so much more than the others killed that even asking for the second apology makes people angry in Bangladesh even now.

During the entire trip, the warmth and hospitality of the people of Bangladesh was overwhelming. The mere fact that they had bestowed an honour upon me for merely following my conscience went beyond hospitality. It was generosity itself.

Re: [mukto-mona] Religious Conversion

1. The belief that "...the religion of Islam started with the first couple on earth (Adam and Eve)" defies the theory of evolution and hence is not tenable in the eyes of the scientific community. Use this as a faith based assertion and look for a transcendental meaning to make modern sense out of it. You may approach a Muslim scientist (there are some in this forum) for an explanation.
2. Regardless of what a religion says about forced conversion, history says it has occurred all the time. Many non-Muslims converted to Islam during 1971 occupation period.
3. "Therefore, the notion Islam is the newest religion is factually WRONG." Are you sure or you are making up a theory to prove the eternality of Islam? Has the prophet ever said that? I think the Koran was revealed to him in the sixth century.
4. "If Muslims wanted to use force (Like Hindus did with Buddhists), they had more than ample opportunities to do so. They ruled India nearly a thousand years. They also ruled Southern Europe for 800 years and NO scholars ever said Muslims forced people to convert.   This was a practice in European Christians but not Muslims." It all depends on who is ruling or ruled and when, how, and where (in what circumstances) he is ruling or ruled. Atrocities committed by some Muslim invaders of India are historical facts. Why do you have to ignore or justify their heinous crimes. Many princes in India were liberal and had minimum or no preaching zeal at all. Priority of some of the rulers was to rule in collaboration with non-Hindus; preaching was not their primary goal. Because of the higher majority of non-Muslims in India, they could only jeopardize their position as rulers by angering the Hindus. In the modern world, it has now become lot harder to convert unless in chaotic situation that prevailed, for example, in 1971 in East Pakistan.

Member Roy, There are some major mistakes about information (About Islam and Christianity) you posted. We have discussed these issues with web based references but it seems you stayed with wrong information. For example, the religion of Islam started with the first couple on earth (Adam and Eve). Also forced conversion is NOT permissible by the religion and there were NO major event of forced conversion.hristianity started its religious conquest through Crusade (1095-1291) to counter Islamic conversion and hegemony around the world.  Also missionary Christianity started much earlier than the time you stated (Much earlier than crusade). Crusade itself had NO link with missionaries. Within hours from now Muslims of Bangladesh will be celebrating Eid-Ul-Azha and it had NO relation to prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Rather few thousand years ago a prophet name Ibrahim or Abraham (PBUH). The whole ritual of hajj is mostly honoring  customs and events from prophet Abraham (PBUH). Therefore, the notion Islam is the newest religion is factually WRONG. You wrote...In contrast, some Islamic groups still continue forceful, coercive, and deceitful tactics for religious conversion

>>>>>>>>> Islam is the fastest growing religion in Europe and America. Kindly show in which place force was used to convert anyone. Your lack of respect to Islam was evident with many previous posts but these are distortion of facts. I hope an educated person like yourself will consider being honest with your blogs and opinions. The dream of Islamic world among many Muslims may be  polarizing the world into two poles: Islamic and non-Islamic. Many of those conversions are targeted towards younger generation.
>>>>>>>>> As I stated forced or deceitful conversion is NOT permitted in Islam. If Muslims wanted use force (Like Hindu did with Buddhists), they had more than ample opportunities to do so. They ruled India nearly a thousand years. They also ruled Southern Europe for 800 years and NO scholars ever said Muslims forced people to convert. This was a practice in European Christians but not Muslims. If you feel the information I shared was not accurate, please share your sources of information (Not another opinion but from scholars).

These mere words would not have any traction in any place as far the history shows. Most of the Muslim countries are in the process of cleansing themselves from their ethnic minorities and now, it is the Shias' turn to be the ideal minority and face the Sunni monsters.  No wonder, why secular democratic countries should stay vigilant about their societies and keep the bigots in check.

"Advising the Muslim world to adopt the Islamic economic system exclusively cannot be treated as an open minded gesture."

What is really an Islamic Economic System? Even God would not be able to make that economy work, let alone these half witted muftis. They do not even know what they are talking about. I would not hold my breath for any open minded gesture from these religious bodies unless they need money or place to migrate and proliferate.

Makkah, October 14:
Delivering the Haj sermon from Masjid-e-Nimra, Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdul Aziz on Monday said Islam was a religion of peace and condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
"Hell is the final abode for those spilling the blood of innocent human beings. Islam doesn't allow terrorism at any cost. Islam condemns violence and terrorism plaguing the world today. Muslims should demonstrate love for peace and unity," the Grand Mufti said.
He said Muslims throughout the world were going through difficult times and stressed that the global economic crisis could be controlled if the Islamic economic system was adopted. "Muslims should support the community by investing in their businesses," he urged.
According to the Grand Mufti, Muslims were facing problems because they had forgotten the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). He said the life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) carried a solution to every problem. He called upon the Muslims to remain united, as success lay in their unity.
The Grand Mufti said: "The Holy Quran is the ultimate guidance for the entire humanity which should be implemented and acted upon.""Oh Muslims be God-fearing, adopt taqwa (fear of Allah), shun earning money through un-Islamic means, hold fast to the rope of Allah and don't divide into diverse schools of thought, get united against injustice," the chief mufti urged hundreds of thousands of pilgrims.
Regarding the prevailing world economic crisis, he said Islam had given a comprehensive system of economy and urged the international community to strictly follow the Islamic economic system to resolve the crisis.
The Grand Mufti asked the leaders of the Muslim world to do their duties efficiently in line with Islamic teachings and spend all their resources on the welfare of their nations. He also urged the Muslim states to strengthen their military institutions. — INP
AFP adds: Some 1.5 million pilgrims thronged Mount Arafat in Saudi Arabia on Monday for the high point of the annual Haj, praying for an end to disputes and bloodshed.Helicopters hovered overhead and thousands of troops stood guard to organise roads flooded with men, women and children.
Chanting "Labbaik Allahuma Labaik" (I am responding to your call, God), many of them camped in small colourful tents and took shelter undertrees to escape temperatures of around 40 degrees Celsius (104 Fahrenheit). Special sprinklers were set up to help cool the pilgrims.
In his annual sermon, top Saudi cleric Sheikh Abdulaziz al-Sheikh urged Muslims to avoid divisions, chaos and sectarianism, without explicitly speaking of the turmoil unleashed by the Arab Spring.
"Your nation is a trust with you. You must safeguard its security, stability and resources," the cleric, who heads Saudi Arabia's highest religious body, said in an address to the Muslim world.
"You should know that you are targeted by your enemy... who wants to spread chaos among you ... It's time to confront this."Attendance is sharply down from last year, due to fears linked to the MERS virus and to multi-billion-dollar expansion work at the Grand Mosque to almost double its capacity to around 2.2 million worshippers.
Governor of Mecca province and head of the central Haj committee Prince Khaled al-Faisal said 1.38 million pilgrims had arrived from outside of the kingdom while only 117,000 permits were issued for domestic pilgrims.
This puts the total number of pilgrims this year at almost 1.5 million, less than half of last year's 3.2 million, after Riyadh slashed Haj quotas.
Prince Khaled told the official SPA news agency late Sunday that authorities had ousted 70,000 nationals and expatriates for not carrying legal permits and had arrested 38,000 others for performing Haj without a permit.
Authorities have also seized as many as 138,000 vehicles for violating the Haj rules, and owners will be penalised, the prince said.Saudi health authorities have stressed that no cases of the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) virus have been detected so far this pilgrimage.
The disease has killed 60 people worldwide, 51 of them in Saudi Arabia. The pilgrims arrived at Arafat from nearby Mina where most of them spent the night following the traditions of the Prophet Mohammed, who performed the rituals 14 centuries ago.
They had moved to Mina on Sunday from the holy city of Mecca, home to the Grand Mosque, Islam's holiest place of worship, which houses the cube-shaped Kaaba towards which all Muslims pray five times daily.
On reaching Arafat, they crowded onto the hill and the vast plain surrounding it to pray until sunset, when they are due to set off for Muzdalifah for a ritual on Monday symbolising the stoning of the devil.
'End to disputes and bloodshed'"I will pray the whole day for God to improve the situation for Muslims worldwide and an end to disputes and bloodshed in Arab countries," 61-year-old Algerian pensioner Saeed Dherari said.
"I hope that God will grace all Muslims with security and stability," said 75-year-old Ahmad Khader, who hails from the southern Syrian province of Daraa.
"The regime is tyrannical and I pray for God to help the oppressed people," he said, referring to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's embattled government.
Egyptian Ahmad Ali, who is performing Haj for the first time, prayed for peace after hundreds were killed in recent months in fighting between the security forces and the supporters of ousted president Mohamed Morsi.
"I pray for Egypt to enjoy security and stability and for the people to reach understanding and reconciliation," Ali told AFP.The Haj, which officially ends on Friday, is one of the five pillars of Islam that every capable Muslim must perform at least once.

Re: [mukto-mona] Fwd: .] MUHAMMED (PBUH) IN THE RIGVEDA

Our overenthusiastic Islamist Mr. Q. Rahman occasionally makes a great religion like Islam and its great prophet Muhammed laughable by trying to glorify both by using unfounded references. He hardly cares about distinguishing between history and myth and science and fiction as well. We need the source of the document given below for judicious judgment.

After many discussions, it seems there are many misunderstandings about Islam. Islam is the first religion which started from the first day humanity started. Coming of the last prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was stated in many religious scriptures BEFORE he came to this world. He was prophesied by past messengers of God. Still ANYONE can find these predictions in different religious scriptures. Click here to read a long discussion about it.

I am also forwarding an article about Muhammad (PBUH) in Hindu/Sanatana Scriptures.

Shalom!

MUHAMMED IN THE RIGVEDA

bulletfl.gif (925 bytes)NARSGANGSA = "THE PRAISE" = MUHAMMED:
Please refer to MUHAMMED IN THE VEDAS, for a detailed discussion of the subject of Narashangsa. The following references to Narashangsa in the RIGVEDA have already been noted there: 1:13:3, 1:18:9, 1:106:4, 1:142:3, 2:3:2, 3:29:11, 5:5:2, 7:2:2, 10:64:3, 10:182:2 and 19:70:2. For further references see 1:116:1, 2:34:6, 2:38:10, 9:86:42, 10:70:2 and 10:92:11.

bulletfl.gif (925 bytes)EELIT= "THE PRAISED":
In many places of the VEDAS, a sage has been mentioned, whose mane is EELIT. The meaning of EELIT is 'the Praised'. Therefore, EELIT and NARASHANGSA are synonyms. In many places NARASHANGSA and EELIT are mentioned almost simultaneously. It proves that NARASHANGSA and EELIT is the same person.

bulletfl.gif (925 bytes)TEN THOUSAND ENEMY SOLDIERS – BATTLE OF THE TRENCH:
It is said in the RIGVEDA (1:53:69), "O' INDRA! Guardian of the virtuous, you were thrilled by the storm which brought you happiness, when the enemy was destroyed! O' INDRA! The downpour was an offering and a toast to thrill you; when, unhindered by the enemy, you uprooted the ten thousand of them for the sake of the one, who praises you and offers you sacrifices."
Things worth being noted here:
flowerdaisyAni.gif (7521 bytes)INDRA destroyed the enemy for the sake of 'one who praises and offers sacrifices'.
flowerdaisyAni.gif (7521 bytes)The enemy was ten thousand strong.
flowerdaisyAni.gif (7521 bytes)INDRA used STORM and DOWNPOUR as his weapon against the enemy.
History says that Muhammed had two names: Muhammed and Ahmad. Muhammed means 'the Praised', and Ahmad means 'one who praises'.

When the persecution, tyranny and oppression of the non believers crossed all endurable limits, and when finally they planned to kill him, Muhammed and his followers had no other recourse but to leave Makka and take refuse in Madina, three hundred miles north. The Makkans planned to attack Madina, and in 627 A.D. they blockaded Madina with ten thousand soldiers. To protect themselves from this predicament, the Muslims dug trenches all around Madina. At length, there was a fierce storm accompanied with heavy downpour, which uprooted the tents of the enemy and threw them into utter disarray. All they could do was to run for their lives. In history, this battle is known as 'the battle of AHZAB (the Confederates) ot the Battle of the Trench. About this battle, the Qur'an says, "O you who believe! Remember the Grace of God, (bestowed) on you, when there came down on you hosts (to overwhelm you); but We sent against them a hurricane and forces that you saw not; but God sees (clearly) all that you do." SURA AHZAB (33:9).

What an amazing resemblance between the VEDAS, the Qur'an and history. The above mantra is also mentioned in the ATHARVAVEDA (20:3:4:6).

bulletfl.gif (925 bytes)VARIOUS MILITARY EXPEDITIONS:
A couple of mantras from the RIGVEDA (1:53:7 and 8), which have been repeated in the RIGVEDA
(20:3:4:7 and 8)…….."7. O' Magnificent Commander, go from battle to battle, and destroy castle after castle with your might! You have killed the nominal friends, who came from far off lands, for their unforgivable treachery! 8. O' King! You have slain the jealous usurpers, with the help of the valiant men, who give refuge to guests! You have raised to the ground, many fortresses, which surround simple and good-natured folks, and which belong to your wicked adversaries, who dishonor their treaties!"
In these mantras, three more identities of the Sage are given:
flowerdaisyAni.gif (7521 bytes)He will go from battle to battle, meaning he will go to many battles.
flowerdaisyAni.gif (7521 bytes)He will fight and defeat those wicked occupants of fortresses, who will break the treaty.
flowerdaisyAni.gif (7521 bytes)On his side will be those who will provide refuge to the incoming guests.
Now to take a look into history:
flowerdaisyAni.gif (7521 bytes)There is no other sage like Muhammed, who had to go to battles so many times in his life, to fight the non-believers. There were quite a number of other military expeditions, in which he was not present physically, but they were conducted according to his instructions. That is why, it is said in verse 7 above, 'go from battle to battle'.
flowerdaisyAni.gif (7521 bytes)When Muhammed arrived at Madina after emigrating from Makka, he drew up peace treaties with idolaters, the Christians and the Jews. But within a year, the Jews began to be insincere about their treaty and started to violate them. They had in their possession many fortresses in Madina and Khyber. They began to conspire against Muhammed and make preparations for their military onslaught. Their hostile stance towards Muhammed resulted in the battles of Banu Qorayza, banu Nazir, Banu Qaynuga and Khyber. Muhammed destroyed all the fortresses of those who, quite unjustly, violated the treaties, and defeated them in these battles. See how these events resemble the prophesies in the VEDAS.
flowerdaisyAni.gif (7521 bytes)Muhammed and his disciples who migrated to Madina, were treated by the Muslims of Madina as their guests and as such were given shelter and every other kind of help. That is why they are known in history as the ANSARS or the Helpers. These Helpers joined Muhammed in all the battles mentioned above. Such resemblances with the above verses cannot be found with any other Sage, other than Muhammed.

bulletfl.gif (925 bytes)THE VICTORY OF MAKKA:
We read in the RIGVEDA (1:53:9), "When twenty thousand chieftains along with their sixty thousand and ninety-nine attendants came to fight the King, whose name was 'pleasing to the ears' and was 'left without a patron', O' Celebrated INDRA! You defeated the enemy by hurling upon then chariot-wheels from the unseen!" This verse is repeated in the ATHARVAVEDA (20:3:4:9).
There are four indications in this mantra, which help us to identify the King.
flowerdaisyAni.gif (7521 bytes)He is 'left without a patron'. Means, he will be an orphan.
flowerdaisyAni.gif (7521 bytes)His name is 'pleasing to the ears'. Means, he will be highly praised.
flowerdaisyAni.gif (7521 bytes)He will be a king.
flowerdaisyAni.gif (7521 bytes)His enemies will be sixty thousand strong with twenty chieftains.
Now, to compare History, and see whether Muhammed fits the bill here:
flowerdaisyAni.gif (7521 bytes)Muahmmed was an orphan and was left without a patron in Makka.
flowerdaisyAni.gif (7521 bytes)"He is Muhammed – the highly praised."
flowerdaisyAni.gif (7521 bytes)Muhammed was a RISHI, a Prophet and a King – all at the same time.
flowerdaisyAni.gif (7521 bytes)When Muhammed started to preach Islam, which is the true form of the VEDIC monotheism, the population of Arabia was about sixty thousand, divided into twenty prominent tribes, each of which had a tribal chief, and they were all enemies of Muhammed.

bulletfl.gif (925 bytes)MAMAHA WITH TEN THOUSAND FOLLOWERS:
The ATHARVAVEDA promises the advent of a great man, called MAMAHA. The second line of a few couplets in the RIGVEDA also mentions MAMAHA.
There are nineteen couplets to be precise: viz. 94:16, 95:11, 96:9, 98:3, 100:19, 101:11, 102:11, 103:8, 105:19, 106:7, 107:3, 108:13, 109:8, 110:9, 111:5, 112:25, 113:20, 114:11 and 115:6. The first line of these couplets contain different prayers. In some places for long life, wealth and good fortune. In some others, there are prayers for victory over the enemy.
In the RIGVEDA (1:109:2), it mentions that new hymns are to be composed, and it brings up two hitherto unknown words like JAMAT and SALAT. The verse is, "O' INDRA AND AGNI! I HAVE HEARD, YOU BESTOW MANY MORE RICHES, OVER AND ABOVE JAMAT AND SALAT! THEREFORE, O' INDRA AND AGNI! I AM GOING TO COMPOSE NEW HYMNS TO BE CHANTED AT THE TIME OF OUR OFFERINGS TO YOU!"
Jamat and Salat, are both foreign words. In Arabic, SALAT means prayer, and JAMAT means to pray in a group.
Let us now lay our eyes on all the signs of MAMAHA given the VEDAS:
flowerdaisyAni.gif (7521 bytes)MAMAHA will be a camel-rider from a desert land. – ATHARVAVEDA (20:9:31).
flowerdaisyAni.gif (7521 bytes)MAMAHA will be famous along with ten thousand followers. – RIGVEDA (5:27:1).
flowerdaisyAni.gif (7521 bytes)In MAMAHA'S time, other (i.e. new) hymns will be composed and recited during offerings, instead of the VEDAS. – RIGVEDA (1:109:2).

The great MAMAHA will be a non-Aryan desert-living camel-rider. According to the MANU SAMHITA (5:8), it is forbidden for an Aryan to drink camel-milk. If he eats camel-meat, he will have to do penance – MANU SAMHITA (11:157). If he rides a camel, his sin will require him to do the PRANAYANA YOGA as a mark of punishment – MANU SAMHITA (11:202). [This is the three-breath exercise prescribed in YOGA].

Among the Aryan Sages, no one was famous for ten thousand followers, and no one brought with him any new set of hymns to be recited during offerings, in place of the VEDAS.

On the other hand, Muhammed was a camel-rider and lived in the desert of Arabia. He became world famous for his historic expedition for the victory of Makka, in which ten thousand of his followers were with him. He received a new set of hymns called the Qur'an, recitation of which is compulsory in every prayer and other religious devotions. No prayer is acceptable, if a portion of the Qur'an is not recited.

It then becomes absolutely clear, that Muhammed, who lived in the desert, rode on camels, recited new hymns, and lead ten thousand men, was THAT Sage.
