RE: [ALOCHONA] Prosecute Sheikh Hasina Begum

what a wonderful history we have...we forget " logi boitha"  crimes so quickly.

But we talk about razakar trial...for years. Without taking steps.to prosecute razakars..actually.//
we have no interest ..to prosecute razakars who are guilty!!!!
We are only keen to create ' smoke screen'...to fool Bdeshis.

we talk about razakars...only when our misdeeds may be exposed...or when someone might re-discover our criminal
and unethical lifestyle/

what a national hobby we have...we blame everybody./anybody for our failures, inefficiency, corruption.
Even university-educated ' white collar thugs'...are prepared to sing + dance .loudly/ repeatedly........to conceal crimes of
politicians.

And then..we talk about " culture'....non-stop......while nobody gets punishment for rape, looting.
At the end of the day, politicians remind us about " razakar trial"...before retiring for the day!!!

Havn't we spent more than .....years with this kind of routine?

best wishes.

Prosecute Sheikh Hasina Begum for committing crimes:

Sheikh Hasina Begum, the current Prime Minister of Bangladesh should be brought to justice for ordering to kill innocent people with logi boitha like Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto (late former Prime Minister of Pakistan) was prosecuted, sentenced to death and executed during 1970's. Any crime or crime against humanity must be investigated and the criminal(s) should be brought to justice for crimes regardless he or she is a head of the government or opposition party.

Perhaps, current Law Minister, Mr. Shafiq Ahmed, who happens to be a senior lawyer of Bangladesh and an active member of the Russian type Bangladesh Communist Party knows very well that abating or inciting others (followers) to kill innocent people is deemed as crime.

It is evidenced from the initiation of the Care Taker Government's criminal investigation that Sk. Hasina Begum has ordered his followers to attack people with "logi boitha" to paralyze and shut down the government in power at that time when she was a leader of the opposition party. Clear evidences were published in various media that terrorist followers killed innocent people with logi boitha under the instruction of their leader, Sk. Hasina Begum.

Time has come now to raise voices against every criminal who has committed crimes according to Bangladesh Penal Code or crimes against humanity. According to the current Bangladesh Penal Code, an abettor or inciter should face criminal charges and be prosecuted for abating or inciting others to commit crime.

Remember, an innocent man was killed by logi boitha openly in a broad day light!

RE: [ALOCHONA] Politics and politicians

If that is so,we will commiting a crime against humanity by betraying the cause of the ocean of blood sacrificed by the "MUKTI  JODHDHAS". "...comments by faruk alamgir/

It has been repeated too many times that razakars should be taken to court for their crime.
Then why politicians could not achieve that in the past many years?

We also need to look at the champions.....champions , who have been shouting loudly about
justice, equality, progress, non-violent  lifestyle in Bangladesh.

If you have time and patience to find out more about these champions, you will amazingly discover that
very few of them follow " a straight path".

Very few have have contributed positively to the nation. Some of them had less than 25 tk in their accounts before......now they are
millionairres.

I am not saying this group of new millionairres in Bdesh are skill-less people. But lot of them
have betrayed the public, made black money....while shouting about " razakar trial".

What a bizarre system we follow.....we ignore the non-stop crimes of our own leaders, when
they are diverting our attention from their daily unlawful routine......with so many excuses.

Such a method of creating ' smoke-screen' to hide their own violence and corruption will not be
productive for us. We need to talk about it/
We should expose them...as much as we can/

Razakars participated in violent, unethical, barbaric activities.....in 1971.

Some of our Our present leaders, their family  and their followers have been looting bangdeshis for years.!!

What a wonderful system to fool us.....showing the same monkey, from their old jute-bags, whenever
questions are asked about their integrety- dedication - ethical practise!!!

best wishes.

Why AL chamchas do not have guts to respond to this type of comments?
Comments that we all can varify/

BNP leaders have done lot of mistakes in the past. And we have been eagerly waiting to
see a new Digital/happy/nonviolent Bangladesh under PM Hasina/Hasina made tons of promises.
Why then newspapers are full of stories......of rape, assault, murder, looting by AL thugs?
Are all Bdeshi journalists plotting against the PM?!

For how long we will wait to see " shonar Bangladesh 2nd. edition"...under PM Hasina?

[ALOCHONA] New York Times Article On National Sport of Pakistan - ( hint - its not Cricket)

[Conspiracy theory is a national sport in Pakistan, where the main players — the United States, India and Israel — change positions depending on the ebb and flow of history]

http://www.nytimes.com/2010/05/26/world/asia/26pstan.html?ref=world
New York Times
May 25, 2010
U.S. Is a Top Villain in Pakistan's Conspiracy Talk
By SABRINA TAVERNISE

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan — Americans may think that the failed Times Square bomb was planted by a man named Faisal Shahzad. But the view in the Supreme Court Bar Association here in Pakistan's capital is that the culprit was an American "think tank."

No one seems to know its name, but everyone has an opinion about it. It is powerful and shadowy, and seems to control just about everything in the American government, including President Obama.

"They have planted this character Faisal Shahzad to implement their script," said Hashmat Ali Habib, a lawyer and a member of the bar association.

Who are they?

"You must know, you are from America," he said smiling. "My advice for the American nation is, get free of these think tanks."

Conspiracy theory is a national sport in Pakistan, where the main players — the United States, India and Israel — change positions depending on the ebb and flow of history. Since 2001, the United States has taken center stage, looming so large in Pakistan's collective imagination that it sometimes seems to be responsible for everything that goes wrong here.

"When the water stops running from the tap, people blame America," said Shaista Sirajuddin, an English professor in Lahore.

The problem is more than a peculiar domestic phenomenon for Pakistan. It has grown into a narrative of national victimhood that is a nearly impenetrable barrier to any candid discussion of the problems here. In turn, it is one of the principal obstacles for the United States in its effort to build a stronger alliance with a country to which it gives more than a billion dollars a year in aid.

It does not help that no part of the Pakistani state — either the weak civilian government or the powerful military — is willing to risk publicly owning that relationship.

One result is that nearly all of American policy toward Pakistan is conducted in secret, a fact that serves only to further feed conspiracies. American military leaders slip quietly in and out of the capital; the Pentagon uses networks of private spies; and the main tool of American policy here, the drone program, is not even publicly acknowledged to exist.

"The linchpin of U.S. relations is security, and it's not talked about in public," said Adnan Rehmat, a media analyst in Islamabad.

The empty public space fills instead with hard-line pundits and loud Islamic political parties, all projected into Pakistani living rooms by the rambunctious new electronic media, dozens of satellite television networks that weave a black-and-white, prime-time narrative in which the United States is the central villain.

"People want simple explanations, like evil America, Zionist-Hindu alliance," said a Pakistani diplomat, who asked not to be named because of the delicate nature of the topic. "It's gone really deep into the national psyche now."

One of those pundits is Zaid Hamid, a fast-talking, right-wing television personality who rose to fame on one of Pakistan's 90 new private television channels.

He uses Google searches to support his theory that India, Israel and the United States — through their intelligence agencies and the company formerly known as Blackwater — are conspiring to destroy Pakistan.

For Mr. Hamid, the case of Mr. Shahzad is one piece of a larger puzzle being assembled to pressure Pakistan. Why, otherwise, the strange inconsistencies, like the bomb's not exploding? "If you connect the dots, you have a pretty exciting story," he said.

But the media are only part of the problem. Only a third of Pakistan's population has access to satellite channels, Mr. Rehmat said, and equally powerful are Islamic groups active at the grass roots of Pakistani society.
Though Pakistan was created as a haven for Muslims, it was secular at first, and did not harden into an Islamic state on paper until 1949. Intellectuals point to the moment as a kind of original sin, when Islam became embedded in the country's democratic blueprint, handing immense power to Islamic hard-liners, who could claim — despite their small numbers — to be the true guardians of the state.

Together with military and political leaders, these groups wield Islamic slogans for personal gain, further shutting down discussion.

"We're in this mess because political forces evoke Islam to further their own interests," said Aasim Sajjad, an assistant professor of political economy at Quaid-i-Azam University in Islamabad.

Lawyers in Pakistan have a strong streak of political Islam. Mr. Habib, who has had militants as clients, argues that Al Qaeda is an American invention. Their pronouncements are infused with anti-Semitism, standard for Islamic groups in the region.

"The lobbies are the Jews, maybe some Indians, working in the inner core of the American administration," said Muhammad Ikram Chaudhry, vice president of the bar association.

Liberals on Pakistan's beleaguered left see the xenophobic patriotism and conspiracy theories as a defense mechanism that deflects all responsibility for society's problems and protects against a reality that is too painful to face.

"It's deny, deny, deny," said Nadeem F. Paracha, a columnist for Dawn, an English-language daily. "It's become second nature, like an instinct."

Mr. Paracha argues that the denial is dangerous because it hobbles any form of public conversation — for example, about Mr. Shahzad's upper-class background — leaving society unequipped to find remedies for its problems. "We've started to believe our own lies," he said.

For those on the left, that view obscures an increasingly disappointing history. For 62 years, Pakistan has lurched from one self-serving government to the next, with little thought given to education or the economy, said Pervez Hoodbhoy, a physics professor at Quaid-i-Azam University. Now Pakistan is dependent on the West to pay its bills, a vulnerable position that breeds resentment.

"We acknowledge to ourselves privately that Pakistan is a client state of the U.S.," Mr. Hoodbhoy said. "But on the other hand, the U.S. is acting against Muslim interests globally. A sort of self-loathing came about."

There are very real reasons for Pakistanis to be skeptical of the United States. It encouraged — and financed — jihadis waging a religious war against the Soviets in the 1980s, while supporting the military autocrat Mohammed Zia ul-Haq, who seeded Pakistan's education system with Islamists.

But Mr. Hamid is more interested in the larger plot, like the secret ownership of the Federal Reserve, which he found on the Internet. After three years of fame, his star seems to be falling. This month his show was canceled, and he has had to rely on Facebook and audio CDs to make his points. But it is not the end of the conspiracy.

"Someone else will be front row very soon," said Manan Ahmed, a professor of Pakistani history. "It is the mood of the country at the moment."

Re: [ALOCHONA] Politics and politicians

A fishermen village, who turned into a economic and financial powerhouse city state with high per capita income and very low social crime rate, Lee Kuan Yew trained himself in the one of the best training school in the world (Cambridge) yet he felt he should learn Manderine to be his people's leader.

 J. R. Jayewardene  converted to his country's majority religion Buddhist from Christianity to be one of his people.

Mohd. Ali Jinnah being a very secular, turned to lead religion for his people.

All of them sacrificed something and devouted their time and energy. List only two sacrifices made by our current and former prime ministers.

One already has her house and all offspring settled in foreign land and love to fly out at every possible oppoertunities.

The other lived in a glass doll house with all the arrogance one could think of.

None of them have least of respect for our people and culture.

One has direct foreign connection and one has great foreign influence.

As Ahmed Safa portrays it better, Benagalis in general and Muslim Bangalis in particular always lacked the creativity of a leadership as their culture is based on their prehistoric farm based societal behavior and thinking pattern. Evolution that changed us a little that is only in exterior, inner structure remains as same.

We Bengali Muslim atleast fought and created our own nation but Hindu Bengalis still ruled by the cousins of Mongol and Afghans, they remain so far subservient.

Interesting enough the ruler in Delhi successfully used these Bengalis to create all the existing discords among us, if you like to consider us as a part of Bengali nation. First the Muslim (pakis) against Muslim now the Bengalis against Bengalis.

The minion Bengalis is always ready to barter and sale anything of them and that is why they are in this situation. Only pride I can feel is Sheikh Mujib lead us to our independence and Zia lead us to democracy.

Unless and until we have learnt to think ourselves using our own thought, without foreign advice, we will be moving pan to fire or fire to pan, and we will be kept on jumping. Instead looking at our own weaknesses  we will always blame others. Our buddhijibi will continue 'bogolbaja' and we remain destructively quarrelsome.

Friends

While echoing my full agreement with Ezajur Rahman I want to add that it is the politicians who misguided, misled the people n betrayed the cause of the people they vowed to implement. These kulangars said one thing and when throned just acted opposite and worked for self aggrandizement and not for the nation.

To me when we got our independence from Pakistan we as Bangladeshis were far far ahead from the Pakis in education(both technical & literal),culture and many of our sons were internationally reputed. We had a very matured set of politicians both left n righ orientd n had a very strong work force as well the desire of a nation to flourish with self esteem n dignity in the comity of nations. The people beleived the politicians n gave them full freedom to steer their future. But the they turned thugs n rogues and killers, looters diluted the spirit of freedom into personal worship or party worship. Moreoever, they because of their incincere, dishonest attutude took for granted that it was the power meant for them and their sychophants n the rest are subjects to be coerced, intimidated oppressed to fulfill personal n party's gain. To keep this tactics alive they resorted to nurturing hooligans, thugs, killers n musclemen all over by thus the sane and innocents populace who were capable of running the nation shrinked them in close door.

The departure of the good citizens helped the politicians to establish their reign of terror without any interruption and in the event if there was any which was ruthlessly subdued causing huge spill of blood. The bloody politician created a culture of muscle oriented political platform and he who has more muscle is in the seat of power. Over and above this Bangladesh was always the prey of the neighbouring bestail hegemonic nation Hindustan. Whose prime aim was to undo the peace, stability and economic progress of Bangladesh to turn it to be a subservient country without much say. Infact we have turned ourselves in to the vile plan n now simmering.

So, one sane person can easily say that it is the politicians as well the evil so-called "Budhdhi jibis"(majority of them are paid RAW agents) are solely and wholely responsible for the decay of our national spirit paving us blame our luck or incapacity. We have forgotten to spade a spade since calculatively the nation has been divide into two poles one cursing/accusing the other for each others failure. For these Khusuti acts the criminals who had opposed n helped the bestial Pakis to slaughter hundreds of thousands of people of all ages n humin\liate our womenfolk got scot free till date.
No arguments should impede the trial of the collaborators whether it is Hasina's Beai or Sheikh selim's beai or Khaleda's near and dear ones. Law is above everybody and should equally be implemented on all with right fairness n justice. Else we will remain bogged down with this scur forever and ever and will be onlookers at the nations who were far far behind us in 1971 growing as Tigers in our vicinity.
If that is so,we will commiting a crime against humanity by betraying the cause of the ocean of blood sacrificed by the "MUKTI  JODHDHAS".

Shafi Ahmed is sorely mistaken, and unhelpful, when he blames war criminals for the absence of merit and intellect in our politics (May 16). These are the views that win applause from the very same politicians whom he says are lacking merit and intellect! We are worse than we realise if the death of several hundred intelligent people on our campuses in 1971 explains the lack of merit and intellect in 2010! The fact is that we have a lot of brilliant people in Bangladesh today who cannot enter politics simply because they are unwanted, blocked, and attacked, by our political parties and politicians. Our politicians are responsible for our condition today — nobody else. Any argument that dilutes the responsibility of our politicians is an argument in support of the status quo. It is the politicians and political parties who nominate candidates for election — not the electorate. If the Awami League nominates a cow and BNP nominate a goat then either a cow or a goat will win the election and the public has no say in the matter. It's as simple as that.

What is the going rate for an MP these days? I doubt its more than 10 lakhs. Mainul should be able to avoid jail, fines etc for a princely sum less than 100 lakhs.

I dare say a smaller investment will buy him the Rajuk permission.

That's not bad if you ask me.

That's what I love about our country. Justice is not blind...

[ALOCHONA] HC orders RAB probe following failed arrest

HC orders RAB probe following failed arrest

Dhaka, May 26 (bdnews24.com) – The High Court has asked the government to investigate a failed attempt by Rapid Action Battalion to arrest an innocent person in Satkhira four days ago.

Following a petition by two human rights organisations, the bench of justices AHM Shamsuddin Chowdhury and Mohammad Delwar Hossain asked the government to form an independent investigation committee and submit the report within 10 days. The committee should not be comprised of any members of the law enforcing agency, the justices said

In its order given on Wednesday, the court also asked the government why no legal action should be taken in relation to the Satkhira incident and asked the RAB director general to submit a list of the members of the elite force, present in the event in Satkhira on May 22.

On May 23, the newspaper Samakal published a report claiming that someone had thrown weapons into the house of Safiqul Islam in Natuar Danga village of Satkhira sadar just as a group of RAB Members, entered the house. Local people then held 21 RAB members following the incident

Advocate Manzil Morshed, lawyer for Human Rights and Peace for Bangladesh and Society of Justice, said in Wednesday's hearing that it is the responsibility of the law enforcers to ensure safety for common people.

Instead of doing so a group of RAB officials attempted to frame a person in a false case, he said. In its order the High Court bench also asked the RAB director general and inspector general of police to notify it what actions they had taken following the May 22 incident.

It summoned RAB official Maj Quamruzzaman and deputy assistant director Delwar to appear before the court on June 8.

The court ordered law enforcers to ensure safety of the inhabitants of Natuar Danga village.
The court has appointed five lawyers as amicus curie to provide assistance in the hearing. They are Amir-ul Islam, M Zahir, Rokonuddin Mahmud, Shahdin Malik and Sara Hossain.

The High Court in last November issued a suo moto rule on the government and RAB following the death of two brothers in crossfire in Madaripur. It had asked for an explanation why the death in crossfire should not be declared illegal.
