[ALOCHONA] Fwd: Khaleda warns Goyeswar Chandra Roy

The report does not give the name of the senior leader of the BNP, who opposed Goyeshwar.

We are, however, in grave danger of handing over control of BD territory to India, when Manmohan signs agreements with Hasina. Looks like, it is going to be an abject surrender of sovereignty and sell out of national interests, whatever carrots are dangled in front of the govt by the disciples of Chanakya. This is why the 2008 election was rigged and Hasina was put to power.

About Hartal during Manmohan's visit, in my view, Goyeshwar is right. How can one welcome Manmohan, without knowing what he is going to sign, especially if it is an agreement of subjugation?? All the agreements are being kept secret! Not even the parliament knows anything about these!!

Appeasing is not the way. Appeasers may have to reap a very bitter harvest. The situation is: RAW has a plan to wipe out the BNP and the Jamaat by hitting these from outside, by oppression, as well as from inside, by division. It looks as though either the BNP leads the people from September and topples the govt soon as they often claim, or they themselves get wiped out by RAW's machinations. The Economist also thought that Khaleda may be arrested soon. However, it is for the BNP to decide what is best for them.

We will persist in our campaigns for safeguarding our independence and sovereignty, irrespective of whether anyone appeases or not, and irrespective of what the govt signs!

[ALOCHONA] Fwd: Hasina’s advisers to visit India ahead of Manmohan’s visit

Mahfuz Anam, Editor of the Daily Star, claimed that they are the ones who brought in 1/11 2007.

Dr. Mashiur Rahman, PM's Economic Adviser, said that it would not be 'civilised' for the govt to charge fees for transit to India.

Dr. Gowhar Rizvi, PM's International Adviser, said that we have wasted 40 years and must start with transit immediately.

I think less said about these lackeys of India, the better!

Mark Tully has his own reasons for supporting India's position on transit. Born in 1936 in Kolkata (his mother born in Tripura), he was BBC's bureau Chief in Delhi for 20 years. He is fluent in English and Hindi. He was awarded Padma Shree in 1992 and Padma Bhushan in 2005 by the govt of India. We know who gets awards from Indian Govt. We also know how 'objective' and 'truthful' many of the Western journalists were in connection with Afghan and Iraq wars!!

Hasina's advisers to visit India ahead of Manmohan's visit

Two advisers to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will reach in New Delhi on Tuesday to hold talks with senior Indian officials to fine tune the key agreements to be singed during Indian premier Manmohan Singh's visit to Dhaka next month.

During their two-day visit, PM's economic adviser Mashiur Rahman and international affairs adviser Gowhar Rizvi was scheduled to meet Indian National Security Adviser Shiv Shankar Menon and other senior officials to discuss the agreements and other issues relating to Singh's official visit on September 6 and 7.

Among the key agreements expected to be signed during Singh's visit relate to demarcation of boundary across 6.5 km, adversely-held enclaves that will end a major unresolved issue in bilateral ties that has been a legacy of the partition of the Indian subcontinent, transit and sharing of waters of Teesta and Feni rivers, our New Delhi correspondent Pallab Bhattacharya reports. The advisers are also likely to interact with a select group of senior Indian journalists at the end of their visit.

Meanwhile, former BBC journalist and leading columnist Mark Tully thinks the slew of agreements expected to be signed during the Indian PM's visit to Bangladesh "will bring about a sea-change in relations between the two countries" and "will immeasurably benefit Bangladeshis".

In a write-up published in a special supplement of leading Indian newspapers on Monday to commemorate the 36th anniversary of the assassination of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, he commended Hasina for showing "great courage" in negotiating the agreements with India in the face of attacks on her for allegedly selling out to India.

Tully, who had extensively covered the Bangladesh Liberation War and the developments in the sub-continent, said "ever since the tragic assassination of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, there have been politicians in Bangladesh who have provoked fear of India and made hostility to India a fundamental tenet of their political creed".

"Even those politicians who have seen the folly of this have had to be careful about advocating any steps which could be seen as compromising with India," he added.

"So, even while Bangladeshis mourn on Monday the murder of their founding father, they can look forward to a few weeks from now and take great comfort from in the promise of transformatory changes in their relations with their big neighbour in the west that will be ushered in by the Indian prime minister's visit to their country," Tully observed.

[ALOCHONA] Wall Street Journal - Cricket: Bangladesh's Promise Unfulfilled & Zimbabwe's Big Win

Bangladesh's Promise Remains Unfulfilled

Zimbabwe's Big Win: Great, but How Did It Happen? Same Old Problems Plague These Skilled Losers

Zimbabwe's victory by 130 runs in the team's only Test against Bangladesh at the Harare Sports Club last week is a magnificent achievement. But its import for the losers, who are also 2-0 down in a five-match ODI series between the two teams, couldn't be much more negative.

Associated Press

Imrul Kayes of Bangladesh fielded on the first day of the Test against Zimbabwe in Harare, Aug. 4.

For Bangladesh, losing to a team that just six years earlier collapsed in disarray and had to be rebuilt from scratch—in an economically ravaged country—was, to say the least, mightily disappointing. But most galling of all to the team's legions of hyper-enthusiastic, perennially-optimistic fans must be that they never seem to learn their lessons. Players and coaches may change, but Bangladesh remain blighted by the same old pair of problems.

One is lack of penetration among their bowlers: their seamers continue to look tame and ineffectual, and their battery of defensive-minded spinners may be good at slowing the run rate in limited-overs matches but are easily milked for runs in test matches. The emphasis on containment over wicket taking, that can work so well in the shorter versions of the game, is hopeless when it comes to taking the 20 wickets needed to win a test.

The other blight on Bangladesh's fortunes is the virtual absence of application and restraint among their batsmen. None of them tries to build an innings in the way that five-day spans of test cricket absolutely require. Even when circumstances demand caution, accumulation and sensible shot selection, such as the fourth innings of the recent game—when the team was left to chase 375 runs in four sessions, so the run rate wasn't tough but the challenge of lasting the duration was—pretty much every single Bangladesh batsman got out playing a needless, rash, attacking shot. Their quintessential performer in this regard is and for a long time has been former captain Mohammad Ashraful, a richly talented, potentially spectacular batsman with a range of flamboyant attacking strokes who has an entirely unacceptable Test average of 23 after 56 games, mainly thanks to his frequent tendency to play wildly over-optimistic swipes. No one better represents Bangladesh's vast reservoir of promise unfulfilled.

With all their swats across the line, lack of application, mindless shot selection and containment-driven, nonthreatening bowling, it's tempting to characterize Bangladesh as a team that has been rendered toothless in the Test arena by the very different demands of Twenty20 cricket. But then they always played like this, even in the pre-T20 era; they still approach the sport in pretty much exactly the same way they did 11 years and 69 Tests ago.

Legendary Australian leg-spinner Shane Warne—commenting on the way in which the challenges of test cricket didn't seem to have prompted any sort of evolution in the bowling of left-arm spinner Monty Pansesar—once said that the Englishman "hasn't so much played 33 test matches as the same test 33 times." The same could be said of Bangladesh's 69 Tests. In the recent game, the contrast with the professionalism of a Zimbabwe team that had played very little test cricket ever between them threw Bangladesh's lack of progress into sharp and somewhat awkward relief.

Bangladesh have at least proved adept in recent years at one-day international matches, where their main weapons are strangulating spinners backed up by batsmen whose reckless approach can sometimes reap dividends in cricket's shorter formats. They've beaten every other Test-playing nation and scored some famous victories, including one over England in this year's World Cup, and a 4-0 series thrashing of New Zealand in late 2010. But in tests, they've done little to show that they can modify their approach to meet the special demands of the sport's most exacting format. Of the 69 tests they've played, they've lost 60 and won only three, two of those against a West Indies side missing all of its first-choice players thanks to a dispute with their board.

The usual explanation is that Bangladesh were prematurely elevated to the top echelon at the behest of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, so it would have more allies on the International Cricket Council. Only full members—test-playing nations—have full voting rights on cricket's global governing body, and Bangladesh's admission tipped the scales in favor of India's bloc, which has traditionally included the Asian and African nations, ranged against the Anglo-Australian axis that traditionally held most of the power in the sport before India's rise to economic dominance. Certainly, by not having once yet hosted a home series against Bangladesh, India has called its commitment to its neighbor's on-field development into question.

In the past teams have taken decades to become competitive after being admitted to Test status, but that was in an era when an awful lot fewer Tests were played. Of the 2,003 matches in the 134-year history of Tests, a quarter have taken place in the past 11 years. But, even more than the depressing regularity of Bangladesh's defeats, it's the predictably calamitous manner of them that's so inappropriate for one of just 10 teams to belong to cricket's most exclusive club. Their Test status isn't in doubt, but with results like the recent one in Zimbabwe, it's perilously close to becoming an embarrassment. A side with plenty of talent, and an abundance of passionate supporters, really ought to be able to do better.

[ALOCHONA] Re: Latest_Two More Blows To Sheikh Hasina

Respected Sufi (From Australia) Vai and Dear Nickson (from Oman),

Thanks for your valuable and rational inputs.

I was reading all these mails and I did not replied, as I do not reply to this "MA" (as it is useless and mere waste of your valuable time and energy). But finally I have to write this informative mail, for saving and utilizing your valuable energy, time and mental peace.

Do you know, to whom you are giving these precious inputs, facts and rational replies?

This "MA" (may have many other identity or birthday - like his leader Khaleda who had only FIVE birthdays) is a stupid RAZAKAR minded e-blogger having very little knowledge on political subject and matter!

Most of his inputs-replies are "full of lies" or "mix of lies and some truth" (to make it full fact).

Initially, like you, I also replied and finally got his real identity, then I challenged him on some occasions about his information and facts (!) - He used to provide in the mails. But unfortunately not a single challenge was logically replied and defended. In your this current thread also he added a 'new' false statement (about Bangabandhu) of Beer Shresta Capt Jahangir before his 'sahadat' in 1971.

How he will do?

Does he have that ability and capability and efficiency?

If wishes are horses, beggars could ride!

As this "MA" used to use some false or doubtful ID and name (MA or Anis or FA and many others ).

Few years back, Mr. Shamim Chowdhury, USA AL leader (from USA and his e-mail is veirsmill@yahoo.com) has challenged him and disclosed his different ugly faces, from his different statements and e-mails. If you need I can forward those mails, if required, but now a days I am a little bit busy with my job, so it may take some time.

What is his political background (present and in past)?

What is his educational background (present and in past)?

What is his social background (present and in past)?

What is his professional background?

What is job or profession?

He and anyone from the blogs have never given those information.

None from the blogs do not know him!

But many of us know you very well.

I know Engr. Khondakar Saleque Sufi Vai from my BUET life.

Other than a top meritorious student and a expert energy professional of Bangladesh,

·         He was a good sportsman in BUET

·         He was sports journalist also (I used to read in weekly Bichitra)

·         He was also a top grade student leader in BUET.

·         After graduating from BUET in 1977-78 he used to work in top position in prestigious gas organisations of Bangladesh government. His job was illegally terminated during last Jamat-BNP era by corrupt Mahmudur Rahman (though he was class friend and colleague of Sufi vai,  corrupt Mahmudur Rahman done that just from jealousy and due to inferiority complex of MR).

·         Then he shifted to Australia and got a nice job in Australia. He is also a part time UN energy consultant in Afghanistan.

·         He regularly writes columns on energy issues in many influential magazine of energy sector.

I also know this ither young Engineer Nickson also; he is managing a big construction organsiation in Oman. Earlier he was in Dubai.

On the other hand, that "MA",

  • We do not know what he is?
  • What is his political - educational – social- professional background? No 3rd person can proof those also!

But from the quality and standards of his inputs and postings - we can easily understand his real political - educational – social - professional background and caliber!

Sometime - he is a BNP activist (sometime against corrupt Tarek and sometime pro Tarek), sometime a NaPaki-Jamati activist, sometime an ex JSD activist, sometime a supporter of Iazauddin-Fakaruddin govt, sometime he says "he is an anti BAKSAL" (there was a fight between two, at one stage, one has asked the other, " what is you?", other replied – "I am a human" and asked the questioner, "what is your identity?", other replied, "as I am always against you, so I am an anti human").

But most of the time he is the 3rd tot of the goat (he has only that much ability or capability) – he cannot be in top!

So, do not respond to this "MA", it will be mere waste of your valuable time and energy.

Because, "KALAO   KOILA    HAZAR   BAR    DHUILEO    SADA    HOI    NA"

Mr Mohiuddin Anwar,
I do not know whether you know " The News Of the World" a famous English Media is closed for forgery and Yellow Journalism. Rupert Murdoch the media Icon had to beg excuse. The Economist may have same fate who knows ? What is your evidence that " The reporter of The Economist has not taken a bag full of cash from Beneficiary of Hawa Bhaban and prickly person like you is working as agent of Corrupt Khaleda Regime. You rather wait and see how the agents of War Criminals and Corrupt Hawa Bhaban regime are identified and thrown out.
Government of Bangladesh has already sent strong protest. They are aware that what to do and when to do.
BAL and Hasina Government still has massive popular support. The real face of Ugly Khaleda Regime is getting exposed . Only impudents like some persons are day dreaming. All the villagers and farmers who matters are in much better stead than before. No amount of Conspiracy can rock the government. If you have opportunity read E-Bangladesh on Google .
You are unfortunately those who have no self respect .That is why you are singing song of Khaleda Regime .Persons like you are unfortunately singing songs of Anti Indian fobia. I do not support some Government failures in controlling price of essentails and other issues and always suggest measures to overcome it . After all Bangladesh is our country , our nation . Whty your favorite BNP netree and her MPs do not raise issues in the parliament? Can you deny Hawa Bhabans excesses during 2002-2006? The fact that Conspiracy can never succeed will soon be proved and not your prickly pricks Mr Anwar. I hope you will try to make constructive criticism of the Government actions and not indulge in spreading venom aginst own nation.

Many thanks for yoiur criticism. rom you response i understand you are a supporter of Hasina regime. What Hasina is saying you are saying the same.
About receiving huge cash to win election was not my finding rather prestigous international weekly "Economist". They dont say anything without evidence I believ.
If Bharotbondhu Hasina adminsitration thinks that the Economosits report is wrong, they can sue the mkagazime for damaging her party image.
My question to Hasina Administration, why they are not following that process, instead  just opposing and denying the allegation.
I believ most Bangladeshis believs what Economist reported. Except some opportunist bhenificieries of Hasina regime.
Hasina regime took power with the hlp of Mohan Bharot and notorious Gen Moin almost gthree years before. Since than thar blaming the Khaleda led government for all misforune. khaleda is out of power for five yeats now. Why after five years blamimg Hasina ? Who will believ e instead of Hasina , Khaleda Zia should be blamed for Hasina's inability to improve Law and order, improve traffice Jam of Dhaka city, power/watrer/sewer outageand controlloing price of essential commodities  and other major issues facing the nation.
Don't blame her who left the government five years ago. Blame Hasina's ally notorious gen Moin and other conspirators and inefficient Ministers and ciurrent Prime Minister for national problems facing the nation now.
BAL took huge money will be proved with evidence in coming days. Just wait and see.
Lage Taka  Dibe Gouri Sen.  Do you know who is Gouri Sen ?
Econmist identified the Gouri Sen unfortunately.

Many Thanks.

Mr Mohiuddin Anwar,
It seems that you have credible evidence of Hasina Government formed with Cash and support from India .Why do not produce the evidence to establish the allegation of "The Economist." I do not understand why on the basis of yellow journalism you are out to discredit an elected government . In 1971 when Pakistan was raping our mothers and sisters who gave you shelter? From 2002-2006 when ISI funded Terrorists were killing innocent people with Grenades where you had been?
Present government has initiated actions to try war criminals, try sponsors of terrorism and corruption. People who created fortune through corruption siphoned off huge money out of the country from 2002-2006 .This black money  may  now  be used to carry out ill motivated propaganda against our motherland with an ulterior motive to protect war criminals and Hawa Bhavan syndicate .
We know about the share market scam, price spirals of essentials , Power , energy and gas crisis. The government is not keeping its fingers crossed. It is trying .But energy sector management spoiled during Kahleda -Nijami rule is carrying out sabotage.
Mr M. A India surrounds us from three direction .It is now one of the booming economy in the world. Bangladesh can not afford hostile relation with them.We have to resolve all outstanding issues with them on the basis of sovereign equality. That is what is being done.
Say if tomorrow Myanmar attack Bangladesh where will your brother , father and mother take shelter.
I hope being an articulate person you have intellectual capability to interpret the chemistry of Indo Bangla relation . Do not try to undermine the Chastity of your motherland on the basis of yellow Journalism of some vested quarter.

Democratically elected government can become  autocratic, best example is pro-India Hasina regime who recieved enough cash and support from Bharotmata during the last general election.
Hasina government knew it very well if her party can't win next election, most leaders of Awami League including Bharotbondhu Hasina. Therefore  Hasina regime is trying to conduct next election under her administration so that administration can manipulate the election and confirm Hasina's win.
We all know India wants a pro-Indian government in Dhaka aslways so that they can dictate their term and exploit Bangladesh. Sheikh Hasina titled Bharotbondhu by Indian media is the best politician and BAL is the most suitable party to proptect India's interest. If needed India will spend billion to make sure that BAL wins the election.
"Taka lage debe Gouri Sen. And Gouri Sen is Mohan Bharot.

Thanks

Mr Anis,
What you want to prove. What % of Bangladeshis can read and will ever read these propaganda. Better watch your own face in your mirror. Hope you are performing your obligations. The million dollar propganda aginst democratically elected PM of Bangladesh can not harm her.Ok objective criticism is always welcome. But do not spread baseless propaganda . People here are more smarter than what you think.
