I have your forwarded statement from Syed Munir Islam which carries
several allegations against the Mukto-Mona forums which I am, as a
moderator, obliged to defend. I have little time for his 20,000 words
when 20 would suffice - since you have been forwarding his message to
several forums, I hope that we would have the courtesy of having the
facts based on what happened since he started posting on our forums
and then left - of his own accord for reasons as explained below -
made as public as his allegations have been:
Munir left Mukto-Mona of his own accord after:
1. Accusing a member, Mr Akbar Hussain, who is personally known to
several of our forum members, of being a Hindu troll posting Anti-
Islamic propaganda on the forums
2. Accusing Mukto-Mona of posting a picture of Sheikh Hasina on our
website in what he claimed was pro aAwami League bias, without quite
knowing that it was a picture of Shahid Jahanara Imam
3. Posting accusation after accusation against Dr Jaffor Ullah, a
scientist with the Federal Government with no substance at all -
indeed, one of his posts even carried invective against Dr Jaffor
Ullah's son who happens to be a student at the moment
4. Our forum receives more than a hundred posts every day. We choose
the ones we would like to approve and release to our readers. Munir
has been little more than a serial spammer - indeed, I was a
recipient of his spam including a pathetic post where he claimed that
we should post everything that he sent because he had managed to get
two pieces published in a textbook for eighth graders. Perhaps, in
the scheme of things where he happens to be a house broker with
intellectual pretensions, this is a mean academic achievement.
It is clear that this is a deranged individual with nothing better to do, it is clear, than make ridiculous allegations against people whom he does not know and about situations and individuals whom he knows nothing about. How else are we to interpret his usual, extra long missive calling Jahanara Imam Sheikh Hasina, for example?
My last e-mail to him was clear - we were happy to approve posts with a certain quality. Drivel, however, would not be entertained.
