From several authentic & reliable sources I too learned that Mr. Sibnarayaon
Dash designed the original flag but we didn't give him his credit. It is very
much unfortunate but true that we are erasing our history continuously.
Another person in the planning of the original national flag which this report
of Amadershomoy did not mention was Choudhury Helalur Rahman Chisty, member &
activist of the Shwadhin Bangla nucleus (Chatro League). Mr. Helal was killed by
the Pak Army on March 25, 1971 but his name was not included in the list of th
martyred students of DU!
