[vinnomot] South Asian reaction to Benzir Bhutto's death

Last two days have been amazing for me--I have been interviewing lots of south Asians in Little India area of Southern California on Benzir's death --I got a mixed bag--

 

 1) Moderate Pakistanis are extremely sad

2)  Elite, academicians from Pakistan feel no difference-I even heard comment, it was good for Pakistan because she was another garden variety of corrupt leadership

 

3) Many Pakistani women are personally feeling depressed.

 

4) Indian community leaders are questioning Musharaf's desire to curb terrorism--they are demanding a strong hold on 10B US aid to Pakistan.
