I read Harun's comments, and I have no disagreement with his statements. There is no question about the influence of electrostatic force of attraction on electron. That is keeping the electron in the orbit. It's like we are all under the influence of gravitational force. That's how we are able to stay on this mother earth.
Before you settle on the concept of the electrostatic force giving rise to centripetal force, think about this situation. When a Satellite is lifted to its orbit, gravitational force automatically does not give rise to a speed of the satellite. Speed comes from some other mechanical source. The role of the gravitational force is to keep the satellite onto its orbit. I hope we do not have disagreement there.
So, the question is whether equilibrium condition is being satisfied or not for the orbital electron or the satellite, i.e, F1 (Electrostatic or gravitational force) = F2 (mv**2/r). Can you guys let me know if you agree with this equilibrium condition?
By the way, I am so glad that my pal Harun has joined the discussion. Last time I saw him was at his marriage ceremony. Nice to hear from you both. So do not stop our discussion in the mid-stream. And, Subimal, I was inferring to your previous statements, not this particular one. Forget about it.
