A very confusing article (Clarifying the meaning of Jihad), which I tried to read with great interest. My understanding is, Jihad is a war to protect Islam. Although none of these recent wars (Afghanistan, Iraq, Kashmir, Palestine, etc.) are against Islam, we hear so much about Jihad. American invasions in Afghanistan and Iraq were not to establish Christianity in those countries. This terminology is misused to mobilize people's support for a struggle or war that has nothing to do with any religion. I believe, there will be no more religious wars, in the modern world, because this generation is relatively less fanatical about religion compared to the generation in the past. Unfortunately, in some parts of the world, Jihad will still be used for political gains.
