Re:Khadr's freedom plan: Counselling, no family, June 17
I am convinced that Omar Khadr deserves a second chance in life and away from his mother and sister, who have expressed nothing but hate for Canada's values and love for its passport and health care.
However, I was stunned to read that as part of the plan, Khadr will receive "counselling by a local imam." The report says Khadr's lawyers propose that Hamid Slimi, a Toronto imam, should counsel Khadr.
Wait a minute. We get Khadr back to Canada and then throw him into the arms of an imam who supports the introduction of sharia law in Canada and refuses to distance himself from the doctrine of "armed jihad"?
