RE: [mukto-mona] On Fathers Day

WRT: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/mukto-mona/message/48763

Dr.Roy,

Thank you very much for this thoughtful response. About God and His ways of work shall be discussed in detail
shortly. Our Mukto Mona is very resourceful in discussing such critical issues. We have a galaxy of personalities
in this forum who will definitely intervene and enlighten us on this interesting issue. Last year I wrote a short article
under the caption of,Nishkam Karma' and many of our friends showed much interest and enriched me by their
very thoughtful comments. I am sending this to you which you might like it too.
===================================================================
About three weeks before my only daughter got married. She was with me for25 years. She was my first child and was very close to me as well. When shewas in her kindergartens there was a small poem her teacher asked her toread. The poem was about a village which the poet called as like his mother.My daughter protested to her teacher that why it was not like her father.Now I find her bed room empty. Everything her mother kept as is but mydaughter is not there. I am a very emotional kind of a person and this emptyroom is unbearable to me. Sometimes without my wife's knowledge I go into mydaughter's empty room and silently cry.Last night my daughter called me and she could not talk to me but onlysobbed. I tried to console her by sobbing myself. My wife took the phone andtalked to her daughter. While trying to compose myself I tried to bephilosophical. From the depth of my heart I realized that I have to acceptthis separation. Once I took some one's daughter and now it's my turn. Lifeis a lonely journey. All I see and claim as mine is not really belong to me.Everything is just passes my hand. In the eternal process of transformationand transfer I am just a means only. The more I attach myself with thesepassing things I risk to be sadder.Many years before I met a sage deep in the Himalayas. He told me to bealways ready to pass through. If you know nothing permanently belong to youthan as a responsible person just take care of it and always be ready topass it to another person. You need to change attachment to responsibility.That's how he taught me what Nishkam Karma is.Since than a very profound sense of peace has come to my mind.Regards and respect,

Akbar Hussain
