[mukto-mona] Two recent issues concerning Islam.

Two recent news items drew my attention this week. A veiled Moroccan woman has been denied French citizenship and in Switzerland there is a move to ban mosques with minarets. How far are these two democratic nations wrong?  By definition citizenship is a right and privileges both to any resident who willingly participates, shares and propagates the values and ideals of his/her place of residence. This completely veiled Moroccan woman is not doing it by concealing her very identity which is essential to become a part of the society and what is the barrier that keeping her away from this important function which is Islam. I am appalled how far a faith can subjugate a person's soul with dogmas.

I am sure many Muslims will cry foul at this news and will condemn west's apathy towards Islam. But they will never be able to be pragmatic to examine the whole issue to identify the viciousness of the Islamic dogmas which brings disgrace to its followers.

 

Another issue is the Islamic minarets in Switzerland. Why in a peaceful and democratic country like Switzerland has become so scared of this Islamic symbol? What the Muslims have done to demonize their own faith to the others? The Swiss are not wrong when they identify an Islamic minaret as a symbol of religious dictatorship which unequivocally declares that God's law supersedes all laws and openly contradicts all democratic values. Mosque is a keeper of this dark medieval scare tactic to subjugate and regiment the lives of its followers. No true democracy can allow this totalitarian notion to be propagated.  But there was a time when these immovable dogmas did not create fear among others. But in the recent times these draconian dogmas are so strongly propagated with blood and killings that there is a valid reason to abhor and disdain them. This faith has been demonized by its own followers. The truth is that Islam has its mortal enemies in its own ranks.
