[mukto-mona] Re: Democrats' last ditch effort to unify the party to put Obama in White House

WRT: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/mukto-mona/message/49608

Dear Dr. Jaffor Ullah,

I have been following the Democratic convention for last four days
very attentively, and I had a chance to listen to the historic
speech that Obama delivered in Denver last night before a crowd of
80,000. Indeed it's a very stimulating and a moving speech, no
doubt. In fact, this is one of the best political speeches I
listened so far during this election campain. Many senior
commentators even argued they did not even such a moving speech in
any convention since the appearance of Kennedy. Obama went issue
after issue from Iraq issue to minority and gay-lesbian rights,
energy sector, health care – everything. I especially liked how he
tackled Iraq issue. He explained while Sen. McCain was turning his
sights to Iraq just days after 9/11, Obama stood up and opposed this
war, knowing that it would distract from the real threats America
would face. In fact, Obama argued for more resources and more
troops to finish the fight against the Talibani terrorists who were
actually related to the attack on 9/11, not Iraq. This is what he
said –

"John McCain likes to say that he'll follow bin Laden to the Gates
of Hell -- but he won't even follow him to the cave where he lives,"

Obama last night came out as a strong and tough candidate concerned
for middle class, and he criticized it is McCain who was actually as
being out of touch with the lives of ordinary Americans, and
charged, "Eight is Enough"!

No matter whether you like Obama or not, it was one of the powerful
speeches that he delivered last night. In case you missed to listen
the speech, I kept it here :

And… this is the first time an African-American man from a minority community is leading one of the major parties in US. In the history of America no presidential aspirants have
addressed before 80,000 people. I hope you are right - At long last,
the Democrats are unified!

Avijit
