Crowley will help?
Visiting Humanist Shahriar Kabir met with Congressman Crowley on 23rd Oct 2008 in NY. They discussed about the Bangladesh Genocide and about the Trail of the War Criminals of 1971. In the beginning Shariar Kabir told that, when I met you last time, you had asked me about proof, I am here with proof and he handed over his latest documentary, 'War Crimes 1971'. Mr. Kabir described Jamaat's role in 1971 and refer Yale university professor Ben Kiernan as saying that, Pakistan failed to try the Generals responsible for the 1971 Genocide, who ultimately become powerful and had created Al-Quida. He told that, Al-Quida, Jamaat & terrorism are tied in one thread.
Congressman Crowley listened carefully and told that, I had a role in recognizing Armenian genocide and I will be happy if I can do the same in recognizing Bangladeshi Genocide in 1971. He told, I will talk with my colleagues in Congress and will act accordingly. Crowley also told that, we are now active about any Holocaust in the past, so, although late, but genocide in Bangladesh can be taken care. He added that, if we can try all the genocide in the world including Bangladeshi genocide, it will help us to prevent future genocides.
Shahriar Kabir was accompanied by Golam Mehraj, Fahim Reza Noor, Hakikul Islam Khokan, Irean Parveen, Haji Enam, Sohrab Sarker & faiz Ahmed. The meeting lasted about half an hour.
Jamaat will turn Bangladesh a Terrorist Country: Kabir
Secular Voices of Bangladesh President Shahriar Kabir told in a Press Conference in NY on 22nd Oct that, our liberation war was not a civil war, rather genocide, because the Pakistanis were targeted for the complete elimination of the Hindus from Pakistan. He refered professor Ben Kiernan of Yale university as saying that, Pakistan failed to try the Generals responsible for the 1971 Genocide, who ultimately become powerful and had created Al-Quida. In reply to a question Mr. Kabir told that, Jamaat will make Bangladesh a terrorist country, if it gets chance. Dr. Mohsin Ali, Fahim Reza Noor & Sitangshu Guha was also present at the press conference.
