[ALOCHONA] A Summary Position

Dear Alochoks

During a discussion it is often wise to try and find the ‘winning argument’.

This is the argument which best captures the essence of the discussion and also the logical conclusion of the discussion.

The benefits are many – such as saving time, bypassing the unnecessary, crystallizing the thoughts of both sides etc.

Not to mention appearing to be very clever – but that's not really the point.

And this is especially not the point if we are discussing something so precious as the condition of our beloved Bangladesh.

Irrespective of the above I would like to just make an indicative statement now that ties Barack Obama’s presidency

to the condition of Bangladesh.

His election win means many things to many people but we should see if there is anything we can learn from Barack’s amazing rise.

This transcends Hasina saying on the BBC World Service on 9/11/08 that her squabbling with Khaleda is comparable

to the election squabbling between Barack Obama and John McCain. She is an idiot.

So here is the statement. If you are a Khaleda or Hasina loyalist or one of the delicate ‘jaath gelo! jaath gelo!’ types  -

‘get ready with the endless lame arguments defending our nation’s politics… you know the stuff…

we’re third world not third rate so its okay

it took the white man two centuries to develop so we should give ourselves the same amount of time

the history of mankind started in 1971 following a language movement

‘AFTER BARACK OBAMA’S WIN IT IS NOW STATISTICALLY MORE PROBABLE FOR THE CHILD OF AN ORDINARY,

DECENT BANGLADESHI CITIZEN TO BE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA THAN TO BE

PRIME MINISTER OF BANGLADESH’.

Hai reh Bengali jaath!
