[ALOCHONA] YPWC Global Sister Schools Network for Schools, Youth Organizations, Communities

Young People We Care (YPWC) is creating a network where African
schools, community groups and youth organizations can partner with
similar groups in other continents to communicate development needs,
and exchange ideas and information that will help achieve targeted
Millennium Development Goals.

For more information: http://www.ypwc.org

The goals and the objectives of this network of organization,
schools or youth groups is to create an environment through which
social and economic development can be impacted by youth. Schools
and groups in African countries will communicate and tackle issues
with groups and schools from other continents, and share best
practices and implement action projects related to the Millennium
Development Goals. The main activities of this programme will
include:

1. Classroom/youth programming: Students from high schools will
explore key development issues with the help of college or adult
mentors through dialogue and a MDGs curriculum. Younger students
(Elementary and Middle School) can participate through art exchanges
and letters about related topics.
2. Internet based communication: Students will contact sister
schools or groups and discuss the topics they want to work on. Youth
will research and analyze projects in their own countries that are
impacting the issue, and share information and ideas with each
other's groups.
3. Future leaders will develop their own projects: Youth will
develop a project that addresses an identified need from one or both
countries, and write a report that explains possible actions that
everyone can take to improve the quality of life for people in the
target country. Beyond writing a report, groups are encouraged to
pursue some of their outlined actions. The best project idea will be
nominated and will get a prize!

If you have a youth group or school interested in participating in
YPWC's Sister Schools program, please fill out the following
information so we can start compiling a list of groups that will
help us connect youth from around the world. You can email the
