Lest we forget, it was Yassir Arafat who introduced quite a few
different methods of terrorism. The Israel-Palestine conflict had
strengthened the Pan-Islamic movement in the entire world. This is
not a figment of imagination that the treatments Palestinians have
received in the hands of Israelis since 1948-49 is the main cause of
Arabs' resentment against America. The U.S. has backed up Israel in
its quest for land-grabbing since 1967 war. I simply wonder if Dr.
Bain or Mr. Zillur Ahmed had read what Golda Meir, Manachem Begin or
Moshe Dayan used to say regularly about Palestinians and their
aspiration for a separate homeland. Without America's financial and
political support Israel could not have gone to fight the wars. A
serious student of the Middle East knows it well that Palestinian
problem is the mother of all ills in that part of the world. I am
not a champion of Arab world; however, I have been saying all along
that the Palestine issue should be resolved to the satisfaction of
both parties.
Dr. Bain is right when he wrote that I write on many subjects. Is
that a crime though? If not, then, why mention it? I never had
claimed that I am the final arbiter of all debates or I have all the
glib answers.
This is my observation that whenever someone supports Kashmiris self-
determination, then he or she becomes automatically a Muslim lover.
I for one have no Muslim friends in Greater New Orleans area. I do
not mingle with people who are overtly religious. There are many
such folks in the city where I live. I do not see things from
nationalistic or religious lens. Please do not try to put a level on
me. This is the last thing I want to see. I have seen enough
pejorative bestowed on me since 1997 from when I started writing in
the web. Thus, I am little too old for that, am I not?
