" I do, however, disagree that we don't need to talk about the atrocities and war crimes of 1971. Our discussions make sure that we don't forget our past. Otherwise the right-wingers and Paki supporters would make sure......." ....Cyrus.

I have never mentioned ONCE since Jan 1972...that we should not talk about atrocities committed by Pakistani army + people + govt.

What I always say that talking about pakistani atrocities/ conspiracy by other powers....etc.  is often an effort by many over-smart Bdeshis, to create smoke screen, to conceal their own crimes in the past 38 yrs.

Lets look at facts of life...lets reassess what quality of life , we are leaving for our next generation:

1. Dhaka has become 1 of the biggest slum in the world. A city of probably 11 miliions of people, have been developed without any reasonable guideline. Rajuk officials have not been hanged in main square for allowing most rediculous construction and development.

2. Millions have been looted for years, but people are suffering everyday for inadequate power supply.

3. Politicians have created a gang of thugs, armed and dangerous, and had not been
punished for such a crime...that will have devastating effect on the nation for years.

4. Corrupt officials, politicians, army officers have constructed palaces with looted money.

5. Common Bangladeshi does not get adequate education, accomodation, safety
and food.

People who were responsible to provide us well-planned town & city, people who had the task to generate electricity, politicians who were supposed to improve our quality of life...
have been talking about Pakistani atrocities, pro/anti liberation forces, about fanatic muslims in Bdesh....since 1972. BUT THEY HAVE DONE LITTLE FOR US.

That is my point.

People who talk...are not the golden boys.

Talking about few popular phrases SO FREQUENTLY.. .will take us no where.

Efforts to create a peaceful, non-violent, safe, healthy community will bring
smile for common men and women.
