Subject: Call-in Show: The Madrassa Education in Bangladesh & West Bengal -Voice of America
Dear All;
Very informative discussion of Madrasa Education in Bangladesh and in India. Here in USA , Islamic Saudi Academy (
http://ztruth.typepad.com/ztruth/2009/03/islamic-saudi-academy-in-virginia-make-small-effort-.html )
is now in hot bed of criticism for their teaching materials containing hatred of other religions, specially Jews; Acadeny authorities were forced to change the texts, by general public, neighbors, then State and Federal government are also trying for change. But in the Voice of America all guest speakers were blaming the Governments first, last, and alone for Madrasa Syllabus, Bangladeshi and Indian Muslims are sleeping while their beloved boys and girls are wasted in age-old, out dated Madrasa Education. Because India is a secular country, most of Indian Madrasas have significant Hindu students and Hindu teachers. In Bangladesh also boys and girls both are admitted, have a few Hindu teachers, Govt. approved Madrasas are like Alia Madrasa , but alarming situation is being created with Qaumi Madrasas- follower of Dewbond Madrasa Philosophy, their Syllabus is their own, they take no grant from government, seems like Pakistani and Afghanistani Madrasas, self administered, funded by private donors, many think they are the raw materials of terrorist activities in Bangladesh. These Qaumi Madrasas are heavily growing in numbers and their product are joining the army in heavy numbers. We request VOA to conduct these type of informative discussion more frequently and give more stress to raise concern and alarm amongst the neighbors, parents of all Quami Madrasa students, not only the Government is responsible in Bangladesh, so that no educational system can grow against the ideology of the constitution of Bangladesh- a secular declared country . You can listen to the live discussion in the following audio link.
