Because this is my dream...
To cross the Bongobondhu Bridge over the Bongobondhu River and get to Dhaka for a checkup at the Bongobondhu Memorial Hospital and watch Bangladesh beat the West Indies again at Bongobondhu Stadium. Then take the Bongobondhu Highway to Chittagong's Bongobondhu Port to release my second hand Japanese reconditioned car. Then pop over to Bongobondhu Beach (formerly Cox's Bazar Beach) to watch the sun and the ocean pay tribute to my Bongobondhuiness.
And maybe one day we will build the biggest convention centre in South East Asia and call it Bongobondhu Convention Centre. And it will be so big that it can be seen on the moon. And all my Bengali brothers will admire the convention centre from the moon and remember the good old days when every Bengali's father was Bongobondhu and every Bengali did Awami League.
It is the stuff of dreams. And yet we will be on the moon for even on the moon people need people to clean their toilets and sell them cheap phonecards.
Till then we will be happy to just to have Bongobondhu' s face on every note and coin. Because we Bangladeshis need to be reminded from time to time who our baap is...
