Reading most of the posts of the 'cyber warriors' who claimed or pretending to be defending Bangladesh from their self exile, but fighting a war that only protects their own tunnel vision or coterie they want to side with.Siding with Bangladesh, that is its people and their interests appear to be remote in their typical mind set.Tipaimukh dam issue if taken as an example, to prove my point, it will become crystal clear why they are in support or against or in silence or disseminating eloquently with pure ambiguity (dhari mas na sui pani – touch and go).All who supports government or India's stand - they are 100 percent AL or its pure supporters.Those who are against - 80% belongs to BNP, say 10% so called communists or like and the rest perhaps from the free thinkers.Why the jeans wearing communists divorced their long time ally this time only their God can understand this.Any matter that goes against our national interests why has to go through the BNP and AL's taste or mandate, I can not understand. What I do understand is these lettered warriors only read their crony's interests. However they articulate themselves, end of the day their scores only benefit their party politics.It should not be the case only, what AL or BNP has done in the past or how they are reacting now, but it should be the real impact of this infrastructure that will obstruct the natural flow in one side and inundate on the other. Ecologoical impact become a big issue in our planet, most of the dam creates a net negative impact than its short term benefits. A hugely populated deltaic country criss- crossed by rivers, it's nature depends on its regular inundation. How it would withstand another dam at its upstream!As many do not see the impact of Farakka they will never see the impact of Tipaimukh as well. Even for Buriganga they can not say much to the annoyance of their medal, certificate and sustenance providers.It is bewildering to see how our society being shaped up recently, it appears as bankrupt. Greed and influence has corrupted our society, it has lost its human face. Otherwise, how come a society accepts and tolerates all the daily criminal activities. In fact mainly the 'greed' has practically crippled our mind and soul.If we are to sustain as a prosperous nation with dignity and pride we need to rise above the coterie interests and side with our people and their greater interests. Popular slogans and phrases will do really ittle and our beast like suffering is going to continue. Make your choice. |
