[ALOCHONA] Re: BD diaspora in the west

Bhai Ezazur,

My list of attachment with my beloved country may not go that long yet same factors dominate. Thanks for your unambiguous posting.

Certainly, there is no scope to generalize but a section does resembles my statement and I meant them only(as they are very vocal, even in this cyber space).

Take care.

Dear Alochok Haque

I think I understand what you are trying to say but it is not100% clear. I would be grateful if you would clarify. Certainly there fools everywhere. But sweeping generalisations about the BD diaspora, especially when emanating from withing BD and with a BD perspective invite a massive fightback from the likes of me. I am as strong a critic as you may find of the way things are done in Bangladesh.

On behalf of many members of the BD diaspora whose love for Bangladesh is unconditional, profound and timeless:

- our love is as pure an any who live within Bangladesh

- our patriotism is as pure as any who live in Bangladesh

- our heartache is as pure as any who live in Bangladesh

- our claim on the soil to receive our dead bodies is as pure as any who live in Bangladesh.

We are not former brothers and sisters of our conutrymen, we are not former sons and daughters of the soil.

We are brothers and sisters of our countrymen, we are sons and daughters of the soil.

We want to help, we try to help and we make mistakes. But we stand with Bangladesh always.

As you survey the body of Bangladesh in its current condition, you should not doubt that some members of the cavalry that will rescue this beautiful body from the grip of fooloishness, will come from the BD diaspora.

The country does not want us to return. Think about it carefully. And those who risk everything to return, since 1971, are more often kicked out again. Why worry about the diaspora? At least the diaspora talks. Look at the young men and women, bright and talented, who silently leave our land each year, to contibute to countries that know how to appreciate them - australia and canada, uk and usa. Our society does not want its own best children.

A large section of the diaspora is growing more confident, vocal and critical. Allhamdulillah.

And even if we can do nothing fro our country from a distance, the least we will do is kick and scream about our unhappiness with the nation's condition.

After all, if the soul of our nation had a voice do you think it would be talking politely or screaming in pain?
