Dhaka, Jan 9 (bdnews24.com) – The Border Security Force (BSF) of India on Saturday morning killed two Bangladeshi cattle traders on Chapainawabganj and Benapole borders.

Benapole local authorities said Bangladeshi cattle trader Hazrat was beaten to death by BSF on the Goga Harishchandrapur border at Benapole.

Goga union parishad chairman Mafizur Rahman said BSF personnel arrested Hazrat early on Saturday while he was crossing the border after buying cattle from India.

After killing him they took away Hazrat's body, Rahman said. It was yet to be recovered.

Chapainawabganj BDR officials said BSF gunned down another Bangladeshi cattle trader Manirul Islam, 23, on Saturday morning on the Shingnagar border at Shibganj upazila in Chapainawabganj.

39 Rifles Battalion's operations officer Major Nazrul Islam said Manirul died on the spot as BSF open fired on him at around 7am near the main border pillar 172 on the Shingnagar border.

Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) jawans recovered the body of Mainul at 11.30am.

BDR has sent BSF a letter protesting the incident.
