Re: [ALOCHONA] Say something sensible.

Mr Hussain

These chaps to whom you address your plea have never heard of the words sensible, thoughtful, reasoned. Its not in their vocabulary. They are mostly propagandists like as the Goebelsian Isha (frankly a third rate version of the master Nazi propagandist Joesef Goebels)

"If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State." Joesef Goebels

Frankly, its a waste of time even to have a discussion or even a slugfest with people like them. They will not change their minds because they follow the party line. Some of the others are not propagandist but what is called useful idiots, who live in their smug pre-conceptions. They dont read widely so have no understanding of their history, geography, sense of reason.

I think it is more important to make sure that our side behave in a democratic and pluralistic way and that our words match our actions. That way the lie can be defeated as just empty nonsense.

After going through a long list of articles by your member Isha Khan and some other articles by other authors forwarded to us by him needs some response. There is no doubt that Isha Khan is a patriot who loves Bangladesh and wants to protect its vital interests. I am not a resident Bangladeshi but maintain contact and share its concerns. The foreign policy of any nation is based on its national interests and the politicians conduct it to enhance nation's prestige and prosperity. What I found in these articles that if Bangladesh can avoid India and totally disregard India's presence altogether around us we will be safe and sound. Any opinion that disregards the realities on the ground can't be of any use. Ideas should be vibrant, inspiring, relevant, practical, pragmatic, dynamic, trusted and stylish to have any real impact. Let me spread a pinch of salt before I go into the details. The partition of India in 1947 was a blunder. Hold on I have not finished. I meet many die hard Pakistanis to who crush India was the basis of their faith now says it was a blunder that India was divided in 1947 on the basis of religion faith can't be a basis any nation. Since 1947 the subcontinent is suffering in many ways due to this division and non cooperation among the states created here. Pakistan as a nation has utterly failed because there main aim was to fight India not their national development. This vacuum has led the mullahs raise their ugly heads and now Pakistan is deeply embroiled in a vicious civil war with their own devil.

The nations in the subcontinent shall never be able to stabilise their political and economic situations till they realise that confrontation with India will not hurt India but them. I understand that the nation of anti India, crush India or curse India is fanned by the Islamic extremists and some people like Isha Khan without realising the real danger just ditto them. Now the question is how India dealing with its neighbours? Let's put some grey matter here by analysing the truth behind our mental development. In Europe Luxembourg or Belgium are two tiny nations. After the Second World War and the economic recovery through the Marshall Plan we have not heard that these two tiny nations were ever complained of their larger neighbour's misbehaviour towards them. The truth behind is Europe's enlightenment and maturity as nations. This vital development is yet to come to the people of the Indian subcontinent.

This is a fallacy that being a country entirely surrounded by India can ignore Indian in any way. The people of all the countries share so many common values in language, culture and history that despite political boundaries they can't ignore each others presence. The people who called Pinak Chakravorty as the Indian governor of Bangladesh are just fools and demean their own sovereignty. The dignity of a nation depends on the intellectual status of the political leaders. Khaleda Zia or Sheikh Hasina both are just ordinary women, both lacks proper academic education to lead a sovereign nation. One is a fool to know what is good for the nation by becoming rabidly anti Indian and promoting Islamic extremism and the other one is a hypocrite who pretends to be a secular politicians but in fact afraid of the mullahs. This miserable situation will continue till such time the nation can produce enlightened politicians who will only be guided by the nation's interest and will have the audacity to ignore politics based on religion.
