Why this talk of 'The Aashoni Shonket? In the abscense of a national narrative, Bangladesh is afflicted with Bi-Polaris or to be crude-a split personality. Half of our collective conscious is deeply ambivalent about building our national narrative based on Tagore's vision; other half is scared to death about imposition of medieval Arab imperialism. Our soul is ripped apart from within. The multifariousness of Bangladeshi body politic and its capacity for mischief making is infinite. Combine that with deep penetration of Jihadist mindset in all facets of our lives-specially the Armed forces –whole country is in serious trouble. Lack of national narrative, lack of national identity (Baangaalee naa Baanglaadeshi), serious historical revisionism, obstructing the trial of the WAR CRIMINALS, stopping TAREQ ZIA'S MONEY LAUNDERING TRIAL, protecting the killers of Bongobndhoo, protecting the MURDERERS OF SAM KIBRIA, AHSANULLAH MASTER, IVY RAHMAN, 10 TRUCK ARMS HAULING CASE WITH THE STATE PATRONOAGE , AUGUST 21ST GRENADE ATTACK ON HASINA (PLANNED AT HAWA BHABAN) and the STATE SPONSORSHIP OF THE BANNED TERRORIST organizations such as HUJI, LT and NSMOHAMMADI, is indeed coming home to roost. This is the back drop against which the possible civil war scenario is being raised. The Bangladeshi intellectuals must understand –civil war is a very bad option; last time they went to India; where will they go now? Imam Mehdi is not coming—the Saladin Ayubi is not coming to drive the Jews and the Hindus in the Arabian Sea. It is a wake up call, please do not contribute towards your own self-destruction.
