Bangladesh National Budget 2011-12
Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith places the proposed budget for the 2011-2012 fiscal in the Jatiya Sangsad today.

Dhaka: June 9, 2011 Bangladesh National Budget of 2011-12 will be published with in a short time. Finance Minister Of Bangladesh Mr. Abul Maal Abdul Muhith confirm this. He explained to the press that Budget for 2011-12 year Preparation is going on.

Along with the National Budget the Finance Minister also placed one concept paper on 'Unified Budget and District Budget' and a position paper on 'Power and Energy Sector' before the Parliament. Another document named 'Gender Budgeting Report' on ten Ministry/Division also placed in the Parliament.

The total outlay of the proposed budget is likely to be around at Tk 1.64 trillion, up by 24.25 per cent or Tk 320 billion from that of the original budget of the outgoing fiscal. Muhith said seven percent growth would be achieved through major spending boosts for energy and infrastructure -- areas long seen as drags on the economy -- which would help attract more foreign direct investment. The South Asian country's economy grew 6.66 percent in the last financial year, according to official figures, driven by a 42 percent expansion in export earnings and gains in the agricultural sector owing to favourable weather.
