[mukto-mona] Muslim hypocrisy.

The inherent problem of a prolonged dictatorship that it creates desperation and immobilizes people faith in pragmatic approaches for the future. In the Muslim nations the dictators either use religion to perpetuate their rules or try to suppress it when it threatens them. This is due to the fact that Islam plays a very vital role in the life of every Muslim. The traditional Islam which is a mixture of deep fear and ignorance obliterates many pragmatic thinking from the mind of a Muslim. All the crook dictators know about it and use to it out smart the masses. This is what has happened in Egypt during the long autocratic rule of Hosni Mubarak. The Muslim Brotherhood is most unlikely to usher a modern democratic dawn in Egypt because of its history of dogmatism and extremist views. In the so called Arab Spring these Islamists are set to gain more power and enjoy popularity because it’s the only platform that survived the long onslaught of dictatorships. This happened in Tunisia, now in Egypt and will show up in Libya as well. Historically Islam as a faith has never relinquished its rights to involve in politics and in reality the brew of religion and politics is always lethal.
In the Arab world the sense of modern civility which differentiates between barbarity and humanity is still a far cry. When people die in the streets on the hand of the dictators that does not really ignites the so called Islamic compassion and goodness. The mullahs and the so called Islamic ummah can’t fathom the gravity of the atrocities but they can cry foul on other trifling matters such as Muhammad’s cartoon or the Koran burning. This is a brazen and common kind of hypocrisy in the Muslim world.
