Hello Mr. Chow,
I TOTALLY disagree with you.. people of Bangladesh are peace loving in general. They do not want to revolt against a democratically elected govt yet. There are many problems and challenges in Bangladesh; but it is not that bad. Let's compare life now and the how it was between 2001-2006 neutrally. You will get the picture. 500 simulteneous bomb blasts across the country, bomb attack on mazar and on judges, bomb attack on opposition meeting where 24 people got killed and nearly killed AL chief Hasina and setup 'joj Mia' drama. Then Kibrial killing, Ahsanula MP killing..did we forget all those ? No absolutely not... Then all the corruption from HAWA bhaban..list can go on and on.....
Ilyas Ali incident is being investigated and govt is asking for cooperation from all. But it seems BNP is very much interested to muddy the water in the hope of scoring politically at the cost of our economy and destroyong people's life; Khaleda asked Ilyas Ali's wife not to cooperate with the law enforcement agency surprisingly!!! Why ? Why no cooperation and instead calling this destructive HORTALS and kill innocent people. So far ther have been 4 lives lost; one bus driver was bured to death by the HORTAL callers. How do you justify that or even advocate that? It is a shame.

I totally agree with you on what is going on in Bangladesh. It is really unbearable. I do not understand why people can not revolt against the autocratic government. Thanks.

For safety of humanity and for justice of law and lawful administration in Bangladesh an international watch team ( 300 members) under a leadership of Mr Kopi Anan appointed by UN Secretary General should be sent to Bangladesh to watch what are happening in Bangladesh and for investigating Government Administration in Bangladesh whether is running lawfully or not. And after investigation the Watch team need to take legal action in International Criminal Court against corrupt people and enemy of humanity.

এছাড়া, বিএনপি নেতা ইলিয়াস আলী গুম হওয়ার পর তিনি এবিষয়ে উদ্বেগ প্রকাশ করে রবার্ট ব্লেককে একটি চিঠি লেখেন। এর উত্তরে রবার্ট ব্লেক বাংলাদেশ পরিস্থিতিতে উদ্বেগ প্রকাশ করে এটাকে 'ডিস্টার্বিং' বলে মন্তব্য করেন বলে জানা গেছে।
সূত্রমতে, ড. ওসমান ফারুকের কাছে চিঠিতে রবার্ট ব্লেক লিখেছেন, বাংলাদেশে যা হচ্ছে তা কোনভাবেই প্রত্যাশিত নয়। বাংলাদেশে অবস্থিত যুক্তরাষ্ট্র দূতাবাসকে পরিস্থিতি নিবিড় পর্যবেক্ষণের নির্দেশ দেয়ার কথা চিঠিতে উল্লেখ করা হয়েছে বলে জানা গেছে।
নিউজ ওয়ার্ল্ডের সঙ্গে আলাপকালে স্টেট ডিপার্টমেন্টের কূটনৈতিক সূত্র জানায়, অতি সম্প্রতি ড. ওসমান ফারুক বাংলাদেশের সার্বিক অবস্থা নিয়ে স্টেট ডিপার্টমেন্টে একটি চিঠি লিখেছেন। সেখানে আওয়ামী লীগ ক্ষমতায় আসার পর থেকে গুম, হত্যা, নিখোঁজ সহ বিরোধী রাজনৈতিক শক্তির বিরুদ্ধে সরকারের বিভিন্ন দমন-নির্যাতনের কথা উল্লেখ করেন। এক্ষেত্রে কমিশনার চৌধুরী আলম, রেল মন্ত্রণালয়ের অর্থ কেলেঙ্কারির তথ্য ফাঁসকারী ড্রাইভার, বিএনপি নেতা ইলিয়াস আলী সহ বিভিন্ন সংবাদপত্রে প্রকাশিত রিপোর্টের কথা উল্লেখ করেন।
চিঠিতে তিনি বলেন, সুরঞ্জিত সেনগুপ্তের অর্থ কেলেঙ্কারি ফাঁস হওয়ার পর থেকে সেই গাড়ির ড্রাইভারের আর কোন হদিস নেই। এ জন্য সরকারের কাছে তার স্ত্রী ও পরিবারের পক্ষ থেকে সাহায্য চেয়ে আকুতি-মিনতি করলেও তাতে কারও কঠিন হৃদয়ে ন্যূনতম করুণার উদ্রেক হয়নি।
হিউম্যান রাইটস ওয়াচ সহ বিভিন্ন সংস্থা মানবাধিকার হরণে সরকারকে অভিযুক্ত করেছে। কিন্তু এসব ইস্যুকে একেবারেই গুরুত্ব দিচ্ছে না সরকার।
