Maybe he said few things one can consider as "Politically incorrect" but such opinions are parts and parcel of any democratic society!!
His recent "Political remarks" came after he was pushed around insulted for years. At the end of the day, it is a mistake for any political parties to go after a person who is well respected in all corners of the globe. So even as a "Practical" (Not talking about moral or immoral) matter, he should have been left alone. As people are watching many government owned banks are being robbed by political thugs, it is strategically wrong to attempt to take over another bank (Which does not require any support from the tax payers).
All political parties are known for "Tolerating" thugs, extortionists, criminals and minister with potty mouth (Bad manners). Dr. Yunus's "Mistakes" could have been tolerated but for some unknown reasons, he found himself as a target of multiple smear campaigns. The latest assault came from "Islamic faction" of BAL, where leaders (The likes who stopped the gonoshraddho) worked hard to find out where Dr. Yunus's ideologies conflicted with ideals of Islam.
As a Muslim I appreciate their hard work, unfortunately most of Bangladeshi Muslims are not so serious about Islam, so that attempt did not produce any result for our current government. As a Bangladeshi I am a little sad. He contributed a lot to "Brand Bangladesh" in global forums. We could have been more tolerant to his opinion (I do not agree with him in all areas).
If we were more tolerant of mistakes made by others, we could have had the likes of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Ziaur Rahman among us. These leaders made of lot of sacrifice for our country, we should remember these positive aspects when we disagreed with them. Regardless of our political affiliation, we cannot deny contributions made by our national leaders. It makes me sad when these dead leaders are viciously malign by ignorant and idiots among us. No matter how much we try we cannot get these leaders back. Let us be a little more tolerant with people like Dr. Yunush or Sir Abed and offer them respect due to these elderly social leaders.
It is possible that we disagree with each other but why we need to take another person down for a difference of opinion? Such immature acts will only put a smile of the face of people who pray for destruction of country. It hurts all people who love this country and our culture.

With the same breath, I say, Dr. Yunus should not be vilified for his Grameen bank work. He has done his part but the bank has become a different animal than his original plan/idea. He got his grand peace prize for it and as a distinguished citizen, he should have stayed above the petty politics of Bangladesh. But, he chose the politics. When a person takes a side, he/she also opens a door for people to go after him/her. And, that is what exactly happened. I do not understand why could not he be more careful about his special stature? Little more diplomacy could taken this man much further. But that is not to be. He just blew it.

Nobel in Peace is often controversial and politically biased. But it was well accepted by all across the world when Prof. Yunus was named for the prize. It was internationally admired everywhere by political leaders, journalists, intellectuals. The only people who can't see anything good in it are biased to AL in Bangladesh - I regret to say that.

মিখাইল গর্বাচেভঃ ১৯৯০ সালে তিনি শান্তিতে নোবেল পেয়েছেন । সন্দেহ নেই তিনি পশ্চিমা দুনিয়ায় শান্তির বন্যা নিয়ে এসেছেন তবে তাঁর আপন মাতৃভূমির চরম ক্ষতি করে। তিনি আক্ষরিক অর্থেই উত্তর আমেরিকা, উত্তর এবং পশ্চিম ইউরোপীয় দেশ গুলোর চিন্তা অর্ধেক কমিয়ে দিয়েছিলেন। সুতরাং তাকে পশ্চিমারা শান্তি পুরস্কার না দিয়ে আর কাকে প্রদান করবে।
ড.ইউনুসঃ২০০৬ সালে শান্তিতে। তিনি যে শান্তির জন্যে কি করেছেন তা আজীবন (?) হয়েই থাকবে!!! অর্থনীতিতে না দিয়ে তাকে কেন শান্তিতে নোবেল দেওয়া হলো– এই প্রশ্ন আজীবন থাকবে, শান্তি প্রতিষ্ঠায় দেশে বিদেশে অতীতে বা বর্তমানে তিনি কী ভূমিকা পালন করেছেন তা আমার বোধগম্য নয়, ২০০১ থেকে ২০০৬ সালে সংখ্যালঘুদের উপর নির্যাতন ও নৈরাজ্যকর পরিস্হিতিতে এবং কিছুদিন আগে রামুর ঘটনায় উনার কাছ থেকে কোন শান্তির বানী শোনা গেল না।
অং সান সুচিঃ ১৯৯১ সালে শান্তিতে। আজ পর্যন্ত তাঁকে আরাকানে নৃশংস মুসলিম গণহত্যা বন্ধে কোন জোরালো বক্তব্য বা ভূমিকা রাখতে দেখা যায়নি। অথচ আরাকানসহ মিয়ানমারের বহু মুসলিম তাঁর রাজনৈতিক দল ন্যাশনাল লীগ ফর ডেমোক্রেসী এর সদস্য।রোহিঙ্গা সমস্যার স্থায়ী সমাধান কল্পে অং সান সূচি কি পদক্ষেপ নেন এটাই এখন দেখার বিষয়।NHB.

It is sad that, we as a nation cannot even feel proud for one of our own. Dr. Yunus is a human being and like all mortals not perfect. But I cannot think of any other Bengali who brought more honor to this nation than him. For few weeks he thought about forming a political party and later dropped that idea. Last time I checked, it is a FUNDAMENTAL right of EVERY citizen to express their ideas freely. I do not know him as someone who "Inspired" corruption or maintained an army of thugs ( I am speaking about all major political parties here).

Not so fast, dear! The are plenty of BNP/Jamat cadres who see nothing wrong in supporting criminals, who openly participated in genocidal killings of Bengalis. So, why go after only Awamis? BAL is bad but BNP/Jamat are no better because they suddenly started to love Dr. Yunus? The question is why? Grameen is not really an Islamic bank with no interest for the poor. Its major clients are not even poor. Who can pay 22-30% interest? That is almost like credit cards' interest rates for the poor. Grameen has become very much like a regular bank and yet. it wants to be treated like holy bank for the poor? So, people should not criticize Grameen because Dr. Yunus got the prize? A group of people belonging to current Awami League Government and their supporters are out there to dishonor our national heroes that do not have any link with them or support them. They have been trying to destroy Grameen bank and it's founder Dr. Yunus for quite some time. Mass people have been vocal and started resisting their sinister campaign in Bangladesh.
