[mukto-mona] Re: {PFC-Friends} Mujib vs. Zia !!

'বাংলাদেশের মুক্তিযুদ্ধ কোনো একদিনে একটি ঘোষণার মাধ্যমেই অগ্রসর হয়ে যায়নি।
ইতিহাসের ধারাবাহিকতায় মুক্তিযুদ্ধের সূচনা ঘটে।'

The emergence of People's Republic of Bangladesh was a historical process that developed
Mujib carried on an uninterrupted, now hidden, now open fight for the masses against the rule of Military Inc
of Pakistan that lead to our independence. The Six-point movement: The 'Magna Carta' of Bangalis
under Bangabhandu's leadership gave a new impetus towards the independence of Bangladesh.
Just like "Rome was not built in one day" ...People's participation in our liberation war was not the result of
one announcement !  In the 7th March Speech of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman
openly said ".... we have given blood, we will give more of it. But, insha'Allah, we will free the
people of this land! ....... "People of Bangladesh today want freedom. They want to survive.
They want to have their rights. What wrong did we do?". The speech concludes with "Our struggle,
this time, is a struggle for our freedom, our struggle, this time, is struggle for our independence. Joy Bangla."

Note: Keeping in mind the failure of the Ian Smith declaration in Rhodesia and the failure of the
Biafra struggle in Nigeria, Sheikh Mujib tacitly left out a direct declaration of independence from
his speech. Nevertheless, the speech was immensely successful in giving Bengalis a clear goal of
their struggle, the goal of independence. It inspired millions across East Pakistan to get engaged
in the freedom struggle. In a writing published in the weekly magazine 'Bichittra' in March 26, 1974,
General Ziaur Rahman wrote that Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's March 7 address was
the inspiration behind his taking part in the 1971 liberation war.
March 7 speech inspired Zia

"৭ই মার্চের রেসকোর্স ময়দানে বঙ্গবন্ধুর ঐতিহাসিক ঘোষণা আমাদের কাছে এক গ্রীন সিগন্যাল বলে মনে
হলো আমরা আমাদের পরিকল্পনাকে চূড়ান্ত রূপ দিলাম।"

Putting Zia down won't lift Mujib and vice versa.

Mujib didn't want to secede form Pakistan because it would've been a treason. Throughout his life Mujib had a love and feeling for Pakistan. That was the reason he kept hugging Bhutto after the liberation. At the end he fell in the whirlpool of communism - Russian/KGB/RAW trap. The other trap was set by anti communist block. This was a very notorious cat and mouse game during cold war era.

Let's not forget Mujib fought against Congress along with Sharwardi, Jinnah and many more for the creation of Pakistan.

Mujib had flaws and so did Zia.

Leave these people alone and think what is better for BD. I bet it is not the slavery of India but friendship on the basis of equal footing.

Best Regards,
