Tasmin Mahfuz

Tasmin Mahfuz is an award winning journalist who produces and anchors WHAG News at 6pm, 7pm, and 11pm.Before moving to Maryland, Tasmin was the Southern Utah Bureau Chief at ABC 4 Utah. She launched the station's first news bureau and was responsible to cover an area of 20,000 square miles with a population of 200,000+ people by herself.
Tasmin was born and raised in West Palm Beach, Florida. She is a graduate of Emory University in International Studies and also has a master's degree in Legal Studies. After graduation, Tasmin completed a two-year internship at the United Nations.
But her passion was to pursue a career in broadcasting journalism. She landed a job with an international network where she reported from New Jersey, New York and Washington DC.
In June 2015, the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation awarded Tasmin the prestigious Gracies Award for Outstanding Producer in TV News. She also earned an award from the Utah Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.
