"her vision is too narrow " ....... Can you elaborate ?
Sure.
Television, being a visual media, counts heavily on presenters' look for drawing viewers' attention. When you put an anchor with such a weird dress (at least to a large segment of her viewers), what will happen? Those viewers will, most likely, push the button for another station, as soon as she appears on the screen. She does not need that.
As you know, an anchor can only survive if his/her rating is good, meaning her viewership is large. I can tell you, she has no future in the private television industry, such as in the USA, no matter how good her credentials are. She may last in the Canadian stations because of nationalized television industry.
I guess, her career is not as important, to her, as promoting her Muslim culture. I am sorry, I find it too narrow a vision for a media personality.
I see the same story with parents, who invest enormous amount of money and logistical support to send their sons/daughters to learn 'Bharat-Nattom' or 'Monipuri' dance in the Western society, which I find as a misuse of talent, effort, and resources. I tell myself, probably, these youngsters could have been famous ballerinas or renowned Broadway dancers with such talent. And, they may be missing that opportunity due to parents' narrow vision.
Thanks.

Ginella Massa is definitely not of Bangladeshi Origin. She is of Panamanian origin and speaks Spanish at home.
She is not a BACKBENCHER, who "got the job through the cultural diversity program in Canada".
She is hardworking and definitely has the background that formed the basis of her anchor-ship job.
Please see her resume at:
"The whole thing is pretty odd" ..... True, and that's what made it a "news" !!!!
"her vision is too narrow " ....... Can you elaborate ?
BTW, as far as I know, she is not a contender for Emmy Awards --- not even close (at Least for now ) !!!

Looks like Bangladeshi origin. Unfortunately, she is much more interested in promoting her Muslim identity than
her talent or achievement. Now, I am not sure, if she got the job due to her talent or through the cultural diversity
program in Canada. The whole thing is pretty odd; her vision is too narrow.
