[mukto-mona] Bangladesh Day Parade 2020 Postponed in LA

Dear Community Members,

Salaam and Greetings to all of you.

As you all know that the Corona Virus epidemic (Pandemic) has currently engulfed the entire world including many countries and many cities. Several hundred thousand people have been attacked by this virus all across the world and several thousand people have already died.. The situation is getting worse every day with no reduction in sight yet. Many of the schools, colleges and Universities have been closed for in-person classes, many offices have asked their employees to work from home, several states and cities in USA have declared the state of emergency, and many big conferences, festivals and ceremonies are being cancelled or postponed along with NCAA conducting the tournament without any spectators.

The Annual BUFLA Signature event is the spectacular "Bangladesh Day Parade and Festival", which is currently scheduled for March 28-29, 2020. This is a very big event of our Greater Los Angeles area Bangladesh Community and this festivity is attended by several thousand people. We were fully prepared to present this spectacular parade and festival to our community. However, under the current local and global crisis situation due to the Corona Virus, and for the sake of the health-care and well-being of our community members, the BUFLA-EC and the entire BUFLA-Team have decided to postpone this Parade and Festival for now. We will let you know about our next plan after the Corona virus situation improves.

Thank you all very much for your understanding. Everyone, please stay well.

With best regards,

Shiper Chowdhury: BUFLA-President

Anjuman Ara Sheulee: BUFLA General Secretary
